Remember when Real Hazard was so badass that they destroyed Masato Yoshino at Final Gate 2009? Things haven’t exactly been a bed of roses since then. Takuya Sugawara has taken over the group and kept them on an evil path, but K-ness and Susumu Yokosuka want to be Twin Gate contenders so that didn’t mesh with their goals. Genki Horiguchi also wanted to fight clean, so Real Hazard booted them all from the group. Tonight, Kzy announces that what remains of Real Hazard will now be known as the Deep Drunkers. If you ask me this is much more in line with their current attitude, as Real Hazard was a combination of New Hazard and the Muscle Outlaw’z, but Yasushi Kanda, Kenichiro Arai, Kzy and Sugawara’s lazy, cheating ways are a different animal.
Yasushi Kanda {DD} & Kenichiro Arai {DD} vs. Susumu Yokosuka & K-ness
These two teams had a good match in the Twin Gate contender Tournament, and now there’s HATE! involved. K-ness and Yokosuka attack During the Drunkers’ entrance. Everyone brawls around the building. Kanda whips K-ness into the post. Arai has the new logo on his jumpsuit but Kanda is still wearing a Real Hazard shirt. Arai suplexes Yokosuka onto a chair pile. Kanda hits a back elbow in the ring for 2. Arai whips him into an exposed turnbuckle for 2. He pours beer on Yokosuka’s head and in his mouth. Yokosuka spits it back in Arai’s face and hits an exploder. How poetic. Kzy tries to distract Yokosuka but it fails. K-ness tags in and hits Kanda with a dragon screw. He whips Arai into the exposed turnbuckle and hits an enziguiri. Kanda hits a Manhattan drop. He hits it on Yokosuka too, but he can’t follow up. K-ness and Yokosuka double-team him for 2. Arai and Kanda hit a double flapjack for 2. Arai hits a spinebuster for 2. Kzy tries to help Arai but ends up eating the canvas after a DDT. Yokosuka hits a super exploder on Arai. K-ness hits the Kaishaku for 2. He hits the Shouryuukyaku for 2. Sugawara and Kzy run in to gang up on K-ness in the corner. They tape him to the ropes. Yokosuka tries to fight off both opponents but they hit him with a double low blow. They hit a Doomsday blue box attack for 2. Yokosuka hits Kanda with a lariat. Arai hits a another blue box attack. Kanda hits Arai with the box by mistake. Yokosuka clotheslines it into Kanda’s face. He hits the Jumbo no Kachi but Arai has the referee. Sugawara hits a red box attack on Yokosuka. He hits a brainbuster and Kanda hits the flying elbowdrop for the win at 11:05 shown of 12:55. There was more drama here than in their previous match, but the extra-curricular activities needed to put the Drunkers over hurt the flow.
Rating: ***
After the match the Drunkers challenge K-ness and Yokosuka to a 4-on-2 handicap match on PPV. Yokosuka agrees, but says the Drunkers should split up if they lose.
A non-title Super Shisa {Z} vs. KAGETORA {K} match is shown quite clipped. During the match Munenori Sawa and Ikuto Hidaka are shown taking seats in the crowd. Sawa is wearing wrestling gear. Shisa wins the match with a roll up. After the match Sawa tells Shisa it’s time for their Brave Gate match (which is why he’s in his gear). Shisa tells him it’s in a few weeks at Sumo Hall. Genki Horiguchi comes out and asks to be added to the match. Shisa okays the change. CIMA {W}, Dragon Kid {W} & Juventud Guerrera {W} vs. Naoki Tanisaki {W1}, PAC {W1} & Mark Haskins is also clipped to shreds, but we see Juvi pin Haskins with the 911 (Juvi Driver). After the match CIMA says he needs a match for the PPV. Shingo Takagi comes out and challenges CIMA for the Twin Gate belts. CIMA asks whether KAGETORA or Akira Tozawa will be his partner. Takagi responds by calling out Cyber Kong. Kong comes out in his gear with a pineapple! The match is made, but not before CIMA warns Takagi to make sure Kong doesn’t run away again.
Shingo Takagi {K}, YAMATO {K} & Akira Tozawa {K} vs. Naruki Doi {W1}, Masato Yoshino {W1} & BxB Hulk {W1}
This is here to hype the Sumo Hall main event. Tozawa (now blonde) and Hulk trade armdrags to start. Yoshino hits Takagi with a head scissors takedown. Takagi slams him. Doi powers YAMATO to the ropes and gives him a clean break. YAMATO puts on a headlock. He hits a dropkick. Tozawa tags in and eats Doi’s boot. Doi and Yoshino double-team Tozawa. YAMATO attacks Doi on the apron and gets whipped into the crowd for his trouble. Tozawa hits Doi with a hurricanrana. YAMATO hits a spear. He hits Yoshino with an elbow. Hulk hits a springboard dropkick. He hits Takagi with a hurricanrana. He sweeps the leg but Takagi blocks the senton. Hulk hits an enziguiri. They trade strikes until Takagi puts Hulk down with the Pumping Bomber. YAMATO dropkicks Doi’s leg. He goes for an anklelock but Doi sends him to the apron. He hits the big senton. YAMATO dropkicks the leg again and puts on the anklelock. Yoshino hits an elevated facebuster for 2. YAMATO avoids the shotgun dropkick. He hits a brainbuster for 2. Takagi hits a powerbomb. Yoshino gets a sunset flip for 2. Takagi hits the DVD for 2. Yoshino gets a victory roll for 2. Doi blocks Tozawa’s Ganki and hits a back suplex for 2. Hulk hits an ax kick and a punt for 2. Tozawa hits an enziguiri on Doi. Takagi hits a suplex. YAMATO hits the running elbow. Takagi hits a clothesline. He hits a spinebuster for 2. Doi and YAMATO avoid each other’s finishers. YAMATO puts on the sleeper hold. Hulk makes the save. He hits the Mouse and a lariat. Takagi flings him into the air. Yoshino hits a miracle suplex. Tozawa hits the butt butt. Hulk comes back with kicks. Takagi clotheslines YAMATO by mistake. Hulk hits an enziguiri. World-1 hits a triple kick. Hulk hits a springboard kick and Yoshino hits the shotgun dropkick. He hits the Torbellino and Doi hits the Bakatare Sliding Kick for 2. Hulk hits Takagi with the EVO on the apron. YAMATO is out of energy, so Doi leaves his chin open for elbows. He hits the Doi 555 and the Bakatare Sliding Kick. He puts YAMATO in a sleeper hold. He teases hitting the Galleria but hits an inverted DDT instead. It gets 2. He hits another Bakatare Sliding Kick for the win at 19:19 shown of 21:46. The finish was awesome, as Doi totally douched it up to make it look like YAMATO’s in for a world of hurt at the PPV. There were a couple awkward moments, but overall the match was a good time and got the Sumo Hall main event’s story across.
Rating: ***½
