Roderick Strong will defend his ROH World Title on November 13th when Ring of Honor returns to Mississauga, ON, Canada and his opponent will be one of ROH’s founding fathers, Christopher Daniels.
Ring of Honor will be making some roster changes, PWInsider.com has confirmed.
At this past weekend’s ROH on HDNet tapings, a number of talents either finished up or were told that they were being given breaks from the company in order to freshen them up and give them a clean slate when they are brought back down the line.
Some names are being tossed around right now, but I haven’t heard which on the list are correct.
I hope to have more on this shortly.
Ring of Honor announced today that their 12/17 Plymouth, MA return will feature ROH Tag Team champions The Kings of Wrestling vs. The American Wolves in what will be their first-ever meeting. With this match and several other recent announcements, it’s obvious ROH is back to their old strategy of making sure each event has the hook of one unique bout, whether that be a first match ever match or a bout that on paper is guaranteed to deliver a good outing.

Larry Sweeney joined IYH on September 9th. Sweeney kicked off the show by saying that he is moving to Chicago. Sweeney admits that the blog he had written on Myspace was a mistake and is moving to Chicago after a fourteen month hibernation from the business.
Jack asks about how Larry feels about the response of his recent promo for AAW. Sweeney said it felt great that people have commented positively on the promo. Sweeney doesn’t need any time before a promo to cut a successful promo.
Sweeney suggests that people check out the IWC. www.iwcwrestling.com Sweeney doesn’t understand how people do not know about the company and puts the company over heavily.
Sweeney continued to talk about promos and says that he doesn’t need to pre-plan his promo and whatnot.
Jack brought up Chikara, and Sweeney keeps up with the product to a point. Sweeney aid that all of his best friends compete for Chikara. Sweeney does say that he doesn’t buy DVD’s or anything.
Sweeney talked about all the things he has accomplished in wrestling. He mentioned that he has wrestled Jake Roberts and Greg Valentine among others. Sweeney noted that once again this is just a job. Sweeney would go back on the road for ROH, but he doesn’t enjoy flying. His desire to go back to ROH on a scale of 12 is currently a five. That could change if he were given a good spot on the roster.
Jack mentioned Pinky Sanchez and Sweeney’s hate for the guy. Sweeney said that Sanchez is a douche bag.
Sweeney talked about only being a manager in ROH for two years and how people obviously overlooked his wrestling ability. Sweeney wrestled for Chikara and IWC at the time but a lot more people watch ROH. Sweeney mentioned that he got paid well for what he was doing in ROH. Sweeney said that he enjoys psychology while the current guys in ROH are the opposite. “No, I never wanted to wrestle in ROH”.
Jack said that some fans are saying that Sweeney sounds bitter. Sweeney said that it comes along with the business because you get beaten up for little money. Sweeney admits to being bitter. Sweeney notes that he needs to find a career now that he is 29. Sweeney went into some personal examples. He mentioned that he had a great girlfriend but wrestling was more important.

The plan for the May 2011 New Japan Pro Wrestling events, which will be promoted with JAPW, is for New Japan to run the ECW Arena in Philadelphia, the Rahway Rec Center and a third location in the New York City area I haven’t confirmed.

Bryan Danielson made one final phone call as the American Representative of World-1 before going to WWE. He arranged a tag team partner for Open The Freedom Gate Champion BxB Hulk in Hulk’s war against Kamikaze USA. Bryan has called upon one of his toughest rivals. The match is now set for October 30th in Rahway, NJ. It will be BxB Hulk & Homicide vs. Jon Moxley & Akira Tozawa at The Rahway Rec Center.
