-Really fun sprint that showcased all three teams quite well. Faith in Nothing looked excellent in their victory. Rewatching this match made me miss them a lot actually.
-Team CHIKARA- Gran Akuma, Jigsaw, and Hallowicked vs.Team AAW- Arik Cannon and The Northstar Express (Darrin Corbin and Ryan Cruz)(09.05.2009)
This is an extremely fast-paced Chikara style six man tag. Considering the fact that all six of these men have competed frequently for that very organization, that makes a lot of sense. Akuma and Cruz start, and no team gets a discernible advantage. Hallowicked and Corbin exchange pinfalls and pick up the pace of the match significantly. Jigsaw and Cannon break out some lucha. Kick to the gut by Cannon and some spitting in the direction of the other Chikara members. Cannon tries chopping Hallowicked but ends up nailing his own partners. Winner (s)/Time/Rating: Arik Cannon and Northstar Express/12:59/***1/2
-Another very fun match that’s very different from a lot of other AAW matches. Very fast-paced with a lot of lucha and dive type spots.
-Silas Young vs. Bryan Danielson (Defining Moment: Us vs. Them)(09.05.2009)
This was during Danielson’s first Final Countdown Tour. It’s one of the finest matches in Silas Young’s career and really got him going. Unbelievable. Forearm exchange. Kicks by Danielson. Small package out of nowhere gets Danielson the victory.
-Winner (s)/Time/Rating: Bryan Danielson/24:30/****1/4
-A classic AAW match that helped Young get over tremendously. Danielson again showed why he’s one of the best in the world. This alone makes this two disk collection a thumbs up.

-Winner (s)/Time/Rating: House of Truth/19:23/***1/4
-The amount of intereference takes this match down a peg. What could have been a borderline four star classic was hurt significantly by all the shenigans. Still, this was a fairly good match, and it showed it continued what was one of the better feuds in the history of AAW.
-House of Truth attempt to beat down the Twins some more, but their efforts eventually fail. Everyone seemingly gets hit with Sweet twin Music.
-AAW Heavyweight Championship: Jimmy Jacobs (champion) vs. Silas Young vs. Shane Hollister (Windy City Classic V)(11.28.2009)
Tyler Black was injured by Jay Bradley earlier in the night, or else this would have been a four way match. Lots of early pin attempts by all three men. He nails Jacobs AND WINS THE TITLE! NEW CHAMPION!
-Winner (s)/Time/Rating: New AAW Heavyweight Champion- Silas Young/14:35/***1/2
-Good three way match. They wrestled a very condensed match with no feeling out process.
-As Young gloats about doing anything to win and his heel turn, Tyler Black comes down to try and quickly get the title from Young. Black takes out Irish Airborne quickly, and the match is on.
-AAW Heavyweight Championship: Silas Young (champion) vs. Tyler Black (Windy City Classic) (11.28.2009)
Black starts out quickly before Dave Crist nails Silas Young with a dropkick, and Black nearly steals the championship. Young goes to work on the neck. Hollister hits a running knee and dives on Dave Crist. Black hits a superkick. Jake Crist breaks the count. This is crazy. Backbreaker/clothesline combination gets 2 ½. Young hits God’s Last Gift for three. Not much of a match so I don’t feel right giving a star rating.
-Winner (s)/Time/Rating: STILL AAW Heavyweight Champion- Silas Young/1:58/N/R
-The match quality might not have been four star worthy, but this was a great angle. Silas Young immediately pinned three of the top names in the company in one night after always being the guy who couldn’t win the big one. Great booking by AAW here.
The last match on this collection took place amongst a blizzard and was a decent way to end the year. After pinning so many guys in one night, it made sense for them to seek revenge in a six man tag and even set Jacobs up for a return match. I think my ending statement still holds true.
-Silas Young and Irish Airborne (Jake and Dave Crist) vs. Shane Hollister, Jimmy Jacobs, and Tyler Black (Twisted Christmas)(12.26.09)
After a night of decent action, these two teams put on a really good six man tag team match to end the night. It was actually perfect because AAW got to send the fans home happy by having the babyfaces win, and they easily set up a match for the next show. It started out hot with the six men brawling before settling down into a traditional tag team match. The pacing and intensity showed by both sides was tremendous as they shifted away from any semblance of tagging in and out with each other and going into the sort of ending sequence that you would see in Dragon Gate or Ring of Honor. Jacobs ends the match by using a contra code on Young, and it was announced shortly thereafter that they would battle for the championship one month later.
Winner (s)/Time/Rating: Jimmy Jacobs, Shane Hollister, and Tyler Black/24:33/***3/4
-Really dug this match, and I hope if AAW does some sort of sampler or “Best of 2009” that this gets included on that disc.
Final Thoughts: If you’re intimidated by the idea of getting into yet another wrestling company, this is a great place to start. You’ll get a little bit of everything in these two disks. A number of different types of matches and just about every major player is showcased here. A rather easy thumbs up for all independent wrestling fans.
