September 2, 2011 – Kobe, Japan

Akira Tozawa {BW} vs. KAGETORA {J3} ended when KAGETORA surprisingly caught Tozawa with the Kagenui. It’s almost surreal the way these two guys are being pushed as legitimate players high on the card, given how disrespected they’ve been in the past.

Shingo Takagi {J3} & Masaaki Mochizuki {J3} vs. BxB Hulk {BW} & Cyber Kong {BW} ended with Takagi pinning Kong with the STAY DREAM. He’d been looking to hit that move for WEEKS. I’m glad it ended the match. I’m not glad that it also ended Kong’s momentum in Dragon Gate for a while.

YAMATO © {J3}, Gamma © {J3} & Masato Yoshino © {J3} vs. Naruki Doi {BW}, Naoki Tanisaki {BW} & Kzy {BW} [Open the Triangle Gate Championship Match]
The Blood Warriors attack before the bell. Everyone brawls around ringside. In the ring Yoshino puts Doi in the Coumori. Gamma hits a dropkick. He blocks Tanisaki’s cane shot but eats the FH. Tanisaki smacks Gamma with a chair and hits the Implant for the win and the titles at 8:39 shown of 18:37. This was better than I expected, but they cut more than half of it out. I’d probably rate it higher if I felt like we saw the real body of it, and not strictly the highlights.
Rating: ***¼

After the match Gamma demands a rematch. Mochizuki grabs the microphone and says he’s going to be one of Gamma’s partners. Kzy insists that Rich Swann be the third member of the team. Gamma is cool with Swann being on the team. Doi takes the microphone and says the match can happen, but it won’t be for the titles. With all that settled the Dragon Gate Generation Blood Warriors attack their Junction Three counterparts. Yagi grabs the microphone and says he’s seen enough. He’s making a Hair vs. Mask Survival Cage Match for the six of them on PPV at Gate of Destiny to settle this issue once and for all.
