Shingo Takagi {J3} vs. Brodie Lee {BW}
Shingo is going into this on an unbelievable losing streak. As this is a match to decide who the strongest man in Dragon Gate is (where is Cyber Kong?) they start with a test of strength. Lee wins that. Lee hits a shoulder tackle. He hits a head scissor takedown. Maraha Isappa opens the ropes so that Lee can hit a suicide dive. He sets up a table in the corner and shoves Takagi into it. He powerbombs Takagi through the table. He hits a backdrop on the apron and whips Takagi into the crowd. Back in the ring Lee hits a dropkick. Takagi blocks a chokeslam and hits a judo throw. He hits a back suplex. They fight over a vertical suplex until Takagi nails the move for 2. Lee hits a dragon suplex. He hits a lariat for 2. He hits the Truck Stop for 2. He goes for a powerbomb but Takagi hits a hurricanrana to block it. Takagi ducks the big boot and hits the STAY DREAM for 2. Lee hits a big boot. Takagi hits the Pumping Bomber. He hits the Last Falconry for the win at 9:41 shown of 11:01. I’m not sure what’s left for Lee to do in Dragon Gate now, aside from maybe filling the Akebono role on a Triangle Gate team. I sure hope that doesn’t happen though. This was fine, but with Lee in there it’s not like there was a ton they could do.

BxB Hulk {BW} & Ryo Saito {BW} vs. Susumu Yokosuka {J3} & Susumu Yokosuka {J3} is joined in progress with Saito hitting Yokosuka with a dragon suplex. KAGETORA catches Hulk with the Kagenui for 2. Hulk hits the axe kick but KAGETORA gets another Kagenui for the win. After the match KAGETORA and Yokosuka formally reform their Summer Adventure Tag League 2009 tag team.

There’s some stuff about Junction Three teaming with boxer Yosuke Nishijima (took me a decent amount of time to research that name) for some sort of charity project. I think.

Masaaki Mochizuki {J3} © vs. Akira Tozawa {BW} [Open the Dream Gate Championship Match]
Mochizuki hits a big boot to start. He avoids the bicycle kick but not a side suplex. Mochizuki hits the Shin Saikyou High Kick, leaving Tozawa draped between the ropes. Mochizuki hits the SicK Kick from the floor. He hits the Sankakugeri. They fight over a Tombstone Piledriver on th

e apron until Tozawa hits it. Mochizuki sits cross legged to recover, absorbing Tozawa’s kicks. He gets to his feet and hits a chest kick. Tozawa hits a dropkick. He goes for the suicide dive but Mochizuki blocks it with a kick. Tozawa hits a backdrop on the apron. Mochizuki blocks the German suplex and hits a reverse brainbuster on the apron. Tozawa beats the count at 19. Mochizuki blocks an illegal punch. Tozawa hits the bicycle kick. Mochizuki hits a big boot. He hits a Tree of Woe punt. He’s bleeding from the mouth. Tozawa ducks a kick and goes for the German suplex. He has to settle for a hurricanrana and the running knee instead. He ducks the Sankakugeri and hits the move on Mochizuki. Mochizuki responds with a German suplex for 2. Tozawa hits the Twister. That was all very cute. Mochizuki goes for the High Tension Suplex but Tozawa blocks it. Mochizuki hits a dragon suplex and the Illusion. Tozawa hits the bicycle kick. Mochizuki sweeps the leg and kicks Tozawa’s face off for 2. Tozawa blocks the Sankakugeri with a German superplex. He hits another German suplex for 2. He goes for the High Tension Suplex but Mochizuki gets one arm free and manages to kick out at 2. That’s about the most creative way to protect that move that I’ve ever seen. HUGE points for that. Tozawa tries for another but Mochizuki gets him into the corner. He kicks his face a couple times and hits a superplex. He hits a big boot. They smack each other with wild shots and collide with their signature kicks. Mochizuki blocks the German suplex and hits the Illusion. He hits the Shin Saikyou High Kick for 2. He hits the Sankakugeri for the win at 15:58 shown of 21:39. Right, so that ruled. No surprise at all. Mochizuki is probably the smartest man in wrestling and Tozawa is on such an incredible hot streak right now there was no way this wasn’t going to be great. I hope we see a rematch next year.

After the match Mochizuki and CIMA argue, as per usual. Referee Yagi comes out and says he has an idea as to how the two groups should fight each other when Dragon Gate comes back to Korakuen Hall. He has Kotoka bring out two baskets of his bread (he used to be Bakery Yagi after all) with lot numbers baked into them. Members of both teams took baked goods and were either entered into a ten-man tag match or not based on what was written on the bread. Naoki Tanisaki takes the first one, which has no number. He will not be in the match. He stomps on the bread so Yagi smacks him. CIMA, Naruki Doi, Gamma, Takagi, Mochizuki, Kong, YAMATO, Masato Yoshino, Hulk & Tozawa will all be in the big match. The rest of the two units will square off in singles matches. Yagi reveals that the loser of the fall in the huge tag match will be banished from their unit.

The show ends with Saito attacking Mochizuki backstage, in anticipation of their big match coming up after the Gate of Destiny.
