2011 was a great year for Independent wrestling, in a year where being a fan of “The Big Two” was often disappointing,  Independent wrestling thrived yet again with ROH inking a new TV deal with Sinclair Broadcasting, PWG putting on some of the most exciting shows of the year, and DGUSA & EVOLVE introducing us to incredibly talented guys the entire year. One promotion has emerged in the southeast in 2011, a “New Evolution” in Pro Wrestling and that promotion is Pro Wrestling Evo. With talents such as Cedric Alexander, Caleb Konley, Marcellus King, Kirby Mack, Jake Manning, Zack Salvation & countless others Pro Wrestling Evo provided both the strong & lighting quick styles that are lacking on the southeast independent wrestling scene. From the annual Evo Eight Tournament filled with the best talent the SouthEast has to offer to mindblowing main events & show stealing matches in their #FollowThis & Best Show In Town events Pro Wrestling Evo made a name for itself in 2011 & already look to be giving fans even more in 2012. The following is just one of the exciting steps Pro Wrestling Evo is taking in the coming year.

The Evolution is HERE!

Pro Wrestling Evo launched their new website on Dec 5, 2011 and with this launch gave fans a glimpse of their brand new High Energy Xperience Division, or  Super HEX Division. What is the Hex division you may say? I had the same question for Pro Wrestling Evo officials and they were bursting with excitement to share what details had been ironed out for this groundbreaking division in 2012. The HEX division will feature the best up and coming talents on the independent wrestling scene battling at each show with a points system in place to track how well each contender is progressing. The details of this points system are not all the way defined as of yet but one thing is perfectly clear, the HEX Division will kick off at the 3rd annual Evo Eight Tournament on January 13, 2012 with a 5 Man Elimination match!!! The competitors in this match have just begun to scratch the surface of Pro Wrestling greatness but it’s easy to see each man has what it takes to be great. At Evo Eight it will be Robyn Golphin who was signed by Pro Wrestling Evo in late 2011 and has already made an impression on fans & EVO officials alike. Golphin will have his biggest challenge by far as he takes on Trevor Lee who had some big matches in 2011 and has the attitude & in ring skills to reach stardom in Pro Wrestling Evo, one thing that may stand in Lee’s way is his tag team partner Ben Tyler who will also be a part of the HEX Division. Tyler competed in mostly tag matches in EVO during 2011 but has shown that he too is one of the best up & coming talents on the independent scene. One of the more exciting & popular Pro Wrestling Evo stars is Chivas Kid, adorned in a Man U jersey and a goat mask he always elicits wild cheers from the crowd, not only for his getup but also his in ring style, lighting quick & high flying. Chivas Kid will be a tough opponent for anyone trying to make their name in this HEX Divsion. Finally, Joe Black has been announced for the introductory 5 Man Elimination match at Evo Eight, Black is a small, muscular wrestler who is full of intensity & comes to the ring with one thing and one thing on his mind and that’s winning. With all five men in the ring showcasing what the HEX Division is all about on January 13, 2012 one thing is certain, no one man is going to want that first win more than the other & the real winners are going to be the fans as all five of these up & coming young guys will look to steal the show on a night already filled with 8 of THE best independent talent on the independent wrestling scene competing in the 2012 Evo Eight Tournament.

Evo Eight will take place at Venu29 in Concord, NC on January 13, 2012 at 8 pm for more information on the HEX Division,  Evo Eight, The New EvoOnDemand feature launching January 1, 2012  check out www.prowrestlingevo.com and stay tuned to www.pwponderings.com for my official Preview of all eight participants in this years Evo Eight Tournament in which the winner will receive a World Title shot against current champion Marcellus King.
