Let's get right to this.

Ali Bumaye, Joe Firoz & The Definition Isaias Velazquez vs Cedric Keys, Jordan Pryde, & Lee Valiant

If you read my three part review of the VWAA Best of 2011 DVD then you're very aware of my feelings on all the men in this match. All of them are great talents and are the work horses of this company. Lots of fun spots from Firoz & Pryde while Cedric Keys & Velazquez have some awesome sequences. Good crowd opener that got them hot for the rest of the night. Good chemistry between Pryde, Keys, & Valiant and really liked that the different styles in this match meshed well and while some things were mistimed the action never felt like it let up at all. Wouldn't mind seeing any trios of these guys shoot a team over for CHIKARA King of Trios *wink* *Wink*. A premature bell ring though stopped the momentum but it was a great set up for a crowd pleasing shenanigans and really it worked for the opening match. The match ended with a diamond dust from Ali Bumaye to Jordan Pryde for the win. Good opener.

Freek vs John E. Kash

Kash on the mic really gets this crowd angry and Freek serves as a remedy for that. Freek is a fun Delirious style gimmick that is fun to watch and really the guy isn't a bad wrestler albeit his ring gear may cause epilepsy but nothing out of the ordinary if you're into Dragon Gate or CHIKARA. Kash reminds me of Chuck Taylor but without the gentleman attributes. As I said Freek knows how to be fun and spastic and some good ole fashioned butt biting isn't out of the ordinary in a Freek match. With that in mind a lot of fan interaction as Freek full nelsons Kash around for the fans to chop and who doesn't love to just get a shot at a guy who annoys the crap out of you? Freek ultimately wins with the Freek Out,  a half nelson choke.

Joey Marx vs Thomas Sinclair w/ Dr. Pinder

I'm not familiar with Joey Marx but Sinclair is a guy I really want to see have a break out year in VWAA. Perhaps it's just his heel style that I dig but it is one that I think has a lot of depth from the matches I've seen. A fun little spot where Sinclair ducks and Marx hops on his back and does the thinking man pose is great and very picture worthy. Not sure of the history of Marx but the commentary lets you know that he has a past in VWAA and perhaps this will go further than one match. Some very good chain wrestling from these two including a fantastic visual of Sinclair capturing Marx from mid air and hitting a last call pin combination. This for me is the match of the night in terms of in ring work. Sinclair wins with his eye dropping suplex into a double knee back breaker followed by a Ring of Aries variation submission. Great match 3 stars in my book with how rarely I do star ratings.

VWAA Champion “God of War” Lamar Titan vs VWAA Circuit Champion “Old School Brawler” Rick Walsh

Both of these guys really know their characters. Lamar Titan is what I wish Kofi Kingston would be and Rick Walsh is just that Crusher/Bruiser style guy who just knows how to hurt and even for his girth can go in the ring. Also this is some of the best commentary also on this DVD as I get the sense of how big this match is with the history brought up that Walsh defeated Titan for the Circuit championship. What also is great that this match determined the championship that would be in the main event of Manifest Destiny which is occuring next Saturday. Story continuity to me is so important and can mean much more than a moveset or character, story is what matters %90 of the time. It's the age old story of speed vs brute strength and these two guys really pulled me in despite my familiarity with the classic roots. No McGuffin here either as even though it may seem strange that they are fighting so hard for a non title match, both men want to prove that their championship is the top title in the promotion and they both want to have the chance to have it defended in the main even of Manifest Destiny. Truthfully though this is probably one of the most brutal matches I've seen from VWAA and really it's great to see this facet. Walsh gets the win via count out but the new President states that this was a no DQ/no count out match and so the fans are going to get their finish. Nothing like giving the fans what they want and Lamar goes into second gear after taking a beating at the hands of Walsh but one Splash from Mt Olympus later and Titan will defend the VWAA Championship at Manifest Destiny against the man who wins the Resolution Rumble which is next!

The Cleric video plays and Lamar is in trouble.

Resolution Rumble
21 competitors, Winner goes to challenge for the VWAA Championship at Manifest Destiny

Not going to spoil this one for you so I'll just say that this rumble was well booked and that the DVD is worth checking out for this alone.

Overall: A great DVD with 2-3 awesome matches and the Resolution Rumble. These DVDs are only $5 and so for that I can't recommend this enough. VWAA has some good storylines going on and after my review of their Best of 2011 DVD I can confidently say that they pay attention to detail and that you won't be disappointed. Plus at only $5 per DVD it's one of the easiest products to follow on the indy scene today. Be sure to check out the DVD Giveaway Details after the video below.
