-Taped from Berwyn, Illinois

-Your hosts are Phil Colvin and Derek St. Holmes

-Highlights from last month are shown as Tweek Phoenix turns on Darin Corbin and ends Joey Eastman’s AAW career. Tweek Phoenix says it’s all about him and says Eastman walked away from him. Phoenix says he gave Eastman some help. Well, that was certainly dark.

-Irish Airborne says it’s been a few months since they’ve been in AAW. They’ve been away protesting their treatment. They say they’ve got Silas Young’s back. Protest over. Young says IA are real men who out their agendas aside. Young buries PBR. Well, that’s just crossing the line. He says they’re rolling through BJ Whitmer, Jimmy Jacobs, and Arik Cannon tonight.

-Austin Mannix vs. Mr. Miller

Match in Five Words or Less: The Clash Explode!

Match Highlights: Interesting bout as the Clash now have to fight each other. Mannix wants a handshake to begin the night. He takes a cheap forearm. Miller hits a shoulder tackle. Flapjack and stomp sends Miller face first. Knee drop. Miller takes him in the corner with a series of right hands. Whip in the corner. Spin kick. Kicks in the corner. Miller reverses a whip. Miller tosses head first into the buckle. Back-to-back neckbreaker variations. Miller with a shot to the midsection. Right hands by Mannix. Forearms from Miller. Big boot by Mannix. Whip and back elbow. Running knee strike to the head. Stomp to the head. Knee to the midsection and another running boot. Miller rams Mannix head first with his knees. Roll-up by Mannix. Pair of kicks for Milller but only two. Mannix catches Miller with a boot. Enziguri. Mannix with a leaping knee strike Laurinitis crusher out of the firemen’s carry position. Running bicycle kick by Miller. Another running kick in the corner is good enough to get Miller the victory.

Match Analysis: Miller is really starting to get himself over with the Berwyn faithful, and I’d argue he’s been the stand-out performer since his return from injury. Basically, this was a short opener designed to establish Mr. Miller. I sense big things coming for him in the very near future. Hopefully, this was the start of a nice long winning streak.

Winner (s)/Time/Rating: Mr. Miller/5:19/**

-Darin Corbin and Marion Fontaine don’t know what’s going on with Tweek Phoenix. He turned on him this past weekend. Corbin has a little neck injury, and Fontaine isn’t happy about it. They’ve got a three way tag team match later tonight. Corbin talks about them getting the tag belts.

-Angelus Layne vs. MsChif

Match in Five Words or Less: Picking Things Up

Match Highlights: The girls start off with some mat wrestling, and the crowd will not have any of that. Despite the fact that Shimmer runs in this same building, AAW fans just want to see these girls beat the hell out of each other. They go to the outside and start beating the holy hell out of each other. Naturally, the crowd wakes up. Hard chops. Layne sent head first into the rail. Layne fires back with forearms to the jaw. Snap suplex on the floor. Stomp on the face. Head first into the side of the ring goes MsChif. Shot to the back. Shoulder first into the post goes Layne. MsChif stretches Layne’s arm out and nails her in the back again. Hard chop. Layne with another chop. MsChif comes back with a snap suplex of her own. Layne sent head first into the steps. Finally, they go back to the ring. Blow to the back. Standing moonsault misses. Layne hits running double knees. Cover for two. Northern lights suplex but she doesn’t bridge over. Choking. Layne misses a cross body off the top rope. Choke bomb but MsChif gets only two. German suplex blocked. MsChif blows mist in the area. Pair of double axehandles. Roll-up into a modified armbreaker. Layne submits verbally.

Match Analysis: This got off to a rough start, but they quickly turned the volume up once they went outside. Layne showed flashes of brilliance, and I’d like to see AAW bring her back. She seems to jive with the more brawling style with AAW. Good physical women’s contest.

Winner (s)/Time/Rating: MsChif/9:47/**3/4

-The Awesome Threesome (Knight Wagner and Jordan McEntyre w/Eryn and Ryland Foxx) vs. Josh Raymond and Christian Able vs. The Northstache Express (Darin Corbin and Marion Fontaine)

Match in Five Words or Less: Sprinty Fun

Match Highlights: Able and McEntyre start. No clean break from McEntyre. Chops by Able. Foxx trips Able with his cane. Shot to the lower back and a back suplex by McEntyre. Series of stomps. McEntyre whips Able. Big running knees. Bulldog into the waiting knees of Wagner. Running boot gets two. Forearms. Able back with a chop. Another tag to McEntyre. Shot to the midsection. Double suplex. Bodyslam and a tag to Wagner. Forearms by Wagner. Able reverses a whip and leapfrogs. Clothesline. Fontaine in with a shoulder tackle. Flying forearm. Knee by McEntyre. Rana by Fontaine. Fontaine sends Wagner into his partner. Eryn gets booted. Teabag. Fontaine sells his groin area. Double Penetration prevented by Corbin. Stunner/DDT combination. Double frog splash and McEntyre gets eliminated. Raymond immediately goes for a roll-up and gets two. Big shooting star press to a bunch of people on the outside. Well, that should be in the open of the show. YEAH! Raymond sends Fontaine in the corner. Reverse of the whip. Raymond catches Fontaine with a spin kick. Running kick to the corner. Tornado DDT blocked. Fontaine sit down in a powerbomb. Able breaks the count. Chop. Corbin with left hands. Back elbow by Able. Bicycle kick by Fontaine. Able lifts both men. Acecrusher by Raymond. Double covers for two. Able misses a charge. Corbin hits a contra code on Raymond as Fontaine hits a superkick on Able. Double covers again and it’s only two. Raymond boots Corbin coming in. Double boots. Fontaine  slingshots him right into a waiting Corbin. Able tosses Fontaine off the top rope. Raymond hits an assisted tornado DDT. Vegematic on Fontaine. 1-2-NO! Able lawn darts Corbin. Clothesline sends Corbin down. Fontaine hits a dropkick off the top. Mid level superkick by Raymond. Raymond rolls through into a choke. Crisis driver. Done.

Match Analysis: The very definition of a sprint. After an early heat segment, these three teams went hard for only a few minutes. I love Raymond and Able’s ability to keep the tag team formula out of their matches. The last two months have seen them in some very unique matches. Maybe not a psychological thriller but it’s exactly what you would want out a contest like this.

Winner (s)/Time/Rating: Josh Raymond and Christian Able/8:09/**

-Sami Calihan is dipping and admiring the name of this very show. He hasn’t been in AAW in a while. He’s ready to show off the skills and the hatred he’s gained in recent months. Calihan makes fun of Davey Richards for what he believes in. Calihan says he’s going to rape pro wrestling of its dignity. LOL. Pro wrestling already let that happen a long time ago. It was asking for it.

-Colt Cabana vs. Mason Beck

Match in Five Words or Less:  What You’d Expect

Match Highlights: Beck remains outside as he wants nothing to do with this tomfoolery. Cabana whispers something in the official’s ear to tell Beck. Beck is none too happy. Fans want Cabana to make them laugh. Feeling out process. Some shenanigans with the official are tossed in for fun. Cabana wants he and Beck to fight outside.  Boots by beck into a wristlock. Cabana rolls around and he stands up ready to fight. More fun with a test of strength. Shot to the midsection. Sunset flip gets two. To a hammerlock. Cabana locks Beck’s arms between his leg. Cabana again. Big chops. Series of jabs and a big elbow strike to the head. Flying butt. Clothesline. Cabana climbs to the top rope…uhhhh, MOONSAULT! He misses. Beck hits a spinebuster out of the firemen’s carry position. Cabana with a right hand. Billy Goat’s Curse. Beck taps.

Match Analysis: Beck is capable of having good matches, and he matches up with Cabana real well. Some shenanigans gave way to a lot of solid back and forth wrestling between both men. Looking at these two guys, you’ve got a very different type of match than us typical on the indies. I enjoyed this for the most part and really am enjoying the groove this show has settled into.

Winner (s)/Time/Rating: Colt Cabana/12:29/***1/4

-Davey Richards vs. Sami Calihan

Match in Five Words or Less: Bordering On Self-parody

Match Highlights: These two have met only once before, that being in wXw at the 16 Karat tournament in 2011. I’d argue Calihan has improved significantly since that bout. They attack immediately with boots. Series of forearms by both men. Ankle lock kicked away. Right into a stretch muffler attempt. Richards goes to the outside. Quite the pace set there gentlemen. Shoves. Strike exchange. Headbutt by Calihan. Richards takedown. Trailer hitch. Indian deathlock and Richards drops back hard. Calihan rips the eyes and they go to the corner. Calihan throws the ring announcer’s cards in the air. Richards whips Calihan across the rail. RUNNING KICK IN THE FACE! Callihan fires back with a kick to Richards’s face. Calihan hooks in a surfboard. Headbutts by Calihan. Chops in the corner. Richards fires back. Calihan back. Richards again. Low kick to Richards. Whip reversed. Calihan gets his boot up. Richards kicks Calihan from the top rope to the outside. Richards with a running punt. Tope suicida! Dropkick off the top rope. Calihan catches Richards charging. Double kicks. Back to the kicks by Richards. Calihan doesn’t seem to mind. Big boot to the face. Calihan hits a death valley driver. Slingshot splash. Richards rolls to the outside. Guillotine on the top rope. Calihan hits a diving lariat. Tope suicida sends both men crashing into the rail. Calihan splashes on Richards’s knee. Stretch muffler blocked. Boots from Richards. Calihan settles for a figure four leglock. Richards reverses into a sharpshooter. Calihan grabs the bottom rope at last. Battle on the apron. Richards hits an exploder on the apron. Calihan rolls him up but can’t get three. Back drop driver. Richards with a knee in the head. Twisting brainbuster. 1-2-NO! Kick in the head. 1-2-NO! Ankle lock. Calihan can’t get to the ropes. He appears to pass out and the referee calls for the bell.

Crowd gives both men a standing ovation after it’s all over.

Match Analysis: If you’re going to do this type of match where you just go crazy and empty out the playbook so to speak, it’s much better to make it a 20 minute and just go hard right from the beginning. I almost feel dirty and a bit hypocritical for enjoying this so much, but if nothing else Calihan is willing to take a beating that so many others wouldn’t even dream about. Glad it only went 20 minutes and not 40. Some people will hate this match and I totally understand why. I liked it for what it was… car crash sprint. That being said, this isn’t something that should be done every month.

Winner (s)/Time/Rating: Davey Richards/19:40/****

-It’s the return of Krotch…yay. Before he can get a sentence in, Truth Martini and Danny Daniels walk out. Martini wonders why Krotch is being interviewed? That’s a darn good question. He volunteers to interview Krotch himself. Martini makes jokes and defames the name of Keith Walker again. He goes on for a bit about him. Daniels talks about his Father’s Day now and criticizes Krotch for not calling him. The only two people that called him the previous Sunday was Martini and Jesse Emerson.  Martini says today is Danny Daniels day. Martini asks Krotch how his Father’s Day went.  Daniels finally attacks, and I guess this is a match. Clothesline.

-Danny Daniels vs. Krotch

Match in Five Words or Less: Meh

Match Highlights: Daniels chokes him. Into the corner for a slap. Drop toehold by Krotch. Bulldog. Seated senton. Daniels tears Krotch down to the mat. He slams Krotch over. Slam on the floor. Chop as both men are still on the floor. Slap across the face as they come back in the ring. Krotch hits a neckbreaker. Both men are down. Boot out of the corner. Daniels elbows him down. Reverse facebuster by Krotch. Series of punches. Trip by Martini. Piledriver by Daniels. Krotch is done.

Match Analysis: This was a fine way to bring the crowd back after intermission. Not a huge fan of Krotch by any means and this segment did nothing for me. I assume this was only done to bring Krotch back and immediately have something for him to do in AAW.

Winner (s)/Time/Rating: Danny Daniels/3:18/*

-Daniels brings Krotch outside for another piledriver. To the stairs they go. Piledriver on the stairs. Krotch is done. Daniels brings him back down. MsChif brings out her giant claw and a microphone. She challenges Daniels to a street fight at Scars and Stripes, which will take place at Bourbon Street the next month. Emerson comes in and tears her down. Low blow on Daniels. She steps on Emerson’s feet. Lyndon hits a missile dropkick on Emerson. Big asai moonsault to the floor. I guess this is a match

Alabama slam blocked. Lyndon steps on Martini’s hand. Crucifix pin gets Lyndon the victory.

Match Analysis: Very interesting clash of styles here as you had the power of Emerson versus the speed and cunning of Lyndon. A bit awkward in spots but still okay for the most part. I’m all for pushing Lyndon at the first opportunity because of his skill set. Right man won here.

Winner (s)/Time/Rating: Louis Lyndon/8:21/**1/2

-Mike Elgin still has the AAW Heritage title, and he’s defending it against Kyle O’Reilly. He has harsh words for AAW heavyweight champion Silas Young. Elgin says he’s a defending champion and will end the story the same by winning the match and retaining his title.

He kicks Crane to the floor. Hollister with a shot to the kidneys. Lawrence hits a swinging DDT for two. Camel clutch. Crane gets an O’Connor roll. Crane sends Lawrence into his knee. Gimp slap by Iron misses. Hollister sends him outside. Double team on Lawrence. Boot on Crane. Hollister sent outside. Bubba bomb by Crane. Lawrence punches Crane on the top rope. Battle on the top rope. Lawrence brings him down in…something. I don’t know. Cover for two. Hollister shoves Iron into Lawrence. The faces get into it. Forearm on Hollister. Iron accidentally nails Lawrence. Hollister shoves Iron over. God’s Last Gift ends it.

Match Analysis: Good but forgettable match. A lot of tension was teased between the faces, so it’ll be interested to see where that’s going. Hollister is on the step to greatness and continuing to pick up wins will only serve him well. A good match but more about an angle than anything else.

Winner (s)/Time/Rating: Shane Hollister and Marcus Crane/10:50/**3/4

-Jimmy Jacobs, BJ Whitmer, and Arik Cannon argue for a bit but they’ll have to get along later on in the main event.

Off the top but Elgin catches him in a powerbomb. Bucklebomb. 360 powerbomb and Elgin retains.

Match Analysis:  Fantastic championship match as they went at it the whole. I knew this would be good, just based on the fact that their work in the finals of Survival of the Fittest 2011 was so good, but I wasn’t expecting a match like this that would steal the show and contain so much action. Elgin has had an amazing 2012 and O’Reilly hung with him the whole time.

Winner (s)/Time/Rating: STILL Heritage Champion-Michael Elgin/13:21/***3/4

Match Analysis: This was just madness from bell-to-bell. The fans were literally standing for the entire match. What an incredible main event. Just a back and forth war with a perfect ending as Cannon and Jacobs each get the win and then get to argue over the heavyweight title after match. Great way to cap off the night. This is also about the third or fourth absolutely insane action-packed match of the night.

Winner (s)/Time/Rating: BJ Whitmer, Jimmy Jacobs, and Arik Cannon/17:18/***3/4

-Jacobs and Cannon brawl after the match.

-Ryland Foxx yells at the Awesome Threesome and says the business relationship between them is over. Wagner and McEntyre argue. Wagner walks out on his partner. McEntyre leaves. Danny Daniels piledrives Eryn for no good reason.

-Davey Richards talks about his match with Fit Finlay at the next. He says Team Ambition is all about fighting. Remember that folks. ALL ABOUT FIGHTING. Richards says he’s going to kick Finlay’s head off. Gross.

The Verdict: This was another outstanding show for AAW as there were a number of great matches that everyone who considers themselves an indy fan should go out of their way to see. So much wild action throughout. The fans were into everything, standing and cheering for nearly every match. This is the night AAW almost captured a PWG like feel. An easy thumbs up from me. This is a show well worth going to SMV and getting on mp4 right now.
