CARBONDALE – The leadership of Pro Wrestling Collision is proud to announce a major partnership with the Boys and Girls Club of Carbondale for 2013.

The Club will host live monthly Collision events throughout the year at its venue, 250 N. Springer St. The staff and roster of the Southern Illinois-based professional wrestling organization will help coordinate and participate in Club activities and fundraising efforts.

“Children and teenagers need positive role models and people to look up to in their lives,” said Chris Hagstrom, owner of Pro Wrestling Collision. “We believe the men and women who compete for our company provide that source of inspiration and influence to help point these youth in the right direction and make them feel special for being able to interact with a celebrity.”

Leaders with both organizations are excited about the potential opportunities this partnership presents. They believe there are many opportunities to not only provide the community with a quality entertainment option but also to advance the mission of the Club and provide positive influences to the next generation of leaders and citizens.

“We constantly seek ways to expose our kids to things they enjoy that also demonstrate good character, the importance of hard work and self-discipline. We want young people to know that our community is full of opportunities of all types. Pro Wrestling Collision presents a wholesome form of wrestling entertainment that we feel fits these goals,” said BGCC Executive Director Randy Osborn.

The first Pro Wrestling Collision event at the Boys and Girls Club will begin at 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23. Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for Southern Illinois University students and children 12 and under and will go on sale at prowrestlingcollision.com on Monday, Jan. 21.

Pro Wrestling Collision debuts on Saturday, Jan. 19, at the Southern Illinois University Carbondale Student Center Ballroom D. That event will feature the Collision Cup, an eight-man, one-night tournament featuring the best rising stars in the region. Tickets are $5.

The Boys & Girls Club of Carbondale provides after-school and special event programs to its members. Kids ages 6 to 18 from any area community are eligible to join for only $18 per year. For more information, contact BGCC at 457-8877 ext.21 or visit www.bgc-cdale.org .
