RESISTANCE Pro MANE ATTRACTION
March 29, 2013
Willowbrook, IL

Pre-show:

In her R-Pro debut, the “Queen of Hardcore” MICKIE KNUCKLES took NIKKI ST. JOHN to her limit much to the delight of the crowd. But in the end, the ever crafty NIKKI squeaked out a victory over the well-traveled veteran. The crowd got off to a hot start and made it clear that they wanted to see more from BOTH of these ladies.

Main Show:

One of the most anticipated matches of the night saw C-RED’s DA SOUL TOUCHAZ finally get their shot at Tag Team Champions LOCK UP. It ended up being “Mr. M-80” MARSHE ROCKETT and “The Urban American Dream” WILLIE “Da Bomb” RICHARDSON challenging the champs as ACID JAZ stayed at ringside with C-RED. Amazing back and forth action from both teams (and interference from WARDEN MYERS) kept the crowd glued to every move inside the ring…and out! In the end, LOCK UP retained their Tag Titles and even the Warden conceded that if they keep up their winning ways…he might pardon them!

In the first-ever “Pondo’s Rules” NO DQ match, veteran hardcore icon MAD MAN PONDO pulled out all the stops (and stop signs!) against 2013 Samuel J. Thompson Memorial Tournament winner BRADY PIERCE. Fans were wide-eyed as both men had dollar bills stapled to them, went through folding chairs, and brawled all over the venue. In the end, the veteran bested the blue-chipper but offered his respect and to mentor the future star in the ways of the world. This turn of events could make for a VERY interesting tag team if all goes well…STAY TUNED!

In a conflict of styles, it was the retro stylings of THUNDERKITTY against the high-flying, break -neck speed of CRAZY MARY DOBSON. The crowd was solidly behind both ladies the entire match and it was a see-saw battle that could have went either way. Eventually, “slow and steady” won the race as CRAZY MARY succumbed to the ever-lethal sleeper hold of THUNDERKITTY. A great contest that brought out the best in both girls and demands a rematch!

The “original underdog”, ECW legend MIKEY WHIPWRECK proved his mettle against TNA superstar “Lonesome” JAY BRADLEY in a battle that would have done the old ECW Arena proud! Both men put everything in to this battle, going in to the crowd and throwing everything at each other that they had. But even a true legend like WHIPWRECK was taken down by the devastating force of the “Boomstick” that made BRADLEY famous. After this modern classic, even the ever cocky TNA star was in awe of the heart of the man who was a “Triple Crown” winner in the Land of the Extreme!

The first ever R-Pro Battle Royal came with an added stipulation that the winner would be named the number one contender for the RESISTANCE Pro Heavyweight Title. After aiding the elimination of his BODY MAGIC team mates GQ and ERIC ST. VAUGHN, ASHTON VUITTON finally left the ringside area leaving TWO STAR HEROES, REMI WILKINS, “The Greatest Show on Earth” TREVOR COURT, RUFF SKIES, STONEWALL, MR. 450, COLONEL JESSE CORGAN, CHRIS HALL, and JOCEPHUS to battle it out. In the end, the mountain man JOCPEHUS emerged victorious and an “era of violence” may be in store for R-Pro if he has his way.

What started out as a title match for the R-Pro Women’s Championship soon turned in to madness thanks to NIKKI ST. JOHN. As champion AMAZING KONG was battling (and defeating) D’ARCY DIXON, NIKKI attacked the champ resulting in the referee declaring the bout a no-contest. During the commotion, MELANIE CRUISE made her shocking return through the crowd and offered to team with the champ against DIXON and NIKKI. As the challengees tried to make a break for the back, R-Pro owners GABRIEL and JACQUES BARON forced the girls back in to the ring and to told the referee that this was now a tag team match. CRUISE and KONG dominated their opponents and an alliance was seemingly made…but for how long?

In the “mane event” (!), the crowd was shockingly split as WrestleMania 23 headliner “The Boss” BOBBY LASHLEY went all out in his attempt to win the R-Pro Heavyweight Championship from “The Ego” ROBERT ANTHONY. After some great in-ring banter, both men put it all on the line in one of the most grueling matches in R-Pro history. The brute strength of LASHLEY was felt when he threw the champ so high he hit a lighting rig 8 feet above the ring! After nearly 30 minutes, ANTHONY finally managed to defeat LASHLEY in typical surprise fashion. A great match that needs to be seen to be believed, this one will be amazing to watch again on DVD.
