CWF Mid-Atlantic made it’s return to Ippv on 3/30/13 with the aptly titled ‘Madness in Any Direction’ from start to finish the best way to desribe this show is MADNESS!! CWF showed why they were one of the breakout promotions of February’s National Pro Wrestling Day as Chiva Kid & Arik Royal put on a tremendous main event and each and every member of the CWF roster made every effort to leave their impression on the audience. I urge you to check out CWF’s past events in addition to this one at CWF247.com and on their youtube channel. Now let’s take a look at ‘Madness In Any Direction’ remember the following is……. #1MansOpinion

3-30-13
Mid-Atlantic Sportatorium
Gibsonville, NC
Madness in Any Direction starts with an intro from The Killbilles & Bobby Jo Neill botching the name of the show as only they can. These guys are entertaining. If you haven’t seen them check them out on the CWF Mid-Atlantic YouTube channel & at ondemand.CWF247.com
#1 Contenders Tag Team Battle Royal
The Aftermath RGL Champ Ben Tyler & Chet Sterling drew unlucky # 1 and will start the battle royal with just 1/2 of the KillBillies as Brad Stutts & Cecil Scott on commentary inform us that Killbilly Evin Banks was involved in a car accident so Aric Andrews will have to go it alone for the former CWF Mid-Atlantic tag champs. Andrews hangs in against the double team from The Aftermath as team number 3 Sho Smoove Chris Lea & Kamakazi Kid enter the match. Ben Tyler survives near elimination by Aric Andrews, landing on the apron. Team # 4 Michael McCallister & Jesse Ortega, The Coach’s bench team enter next & they are here for one reason and that’s to ensure no one gets a shot at CWF Mid-Atlantic Tag Champions Roy Wilkins & Walter Eaton, The Goon Squad. The fifth & final team enters & they’re the most experienced as well. The Mid-Atlantic Outlaws Matt Houston & Louis  Moore join the fray & shortly thereafter we get our 1st elimination as Chris Lea eliminates Ben Tyler by skinning the cat & pulling the RGL champion over the top. Before Lea can recover, McCallister takes Kamakazi Kid out on the apron knocking him to the floor eliminating their team. Aric Andrews makes the most of his solo attempt at gaining another shot at the titles for The KillBillies but with no one to watch his back, Coach Gemini’s 2nd string eliminate Andrews & we are down to two teams. Louis Moore brutalizes Ortega with knife edge chops in the corner as McCallister tries to eliminate Houston on the other side. Ortega misses a cannonball in the corner & Houston follows it up with an impressive Arabian press. Finally Moore gets Ortega on the apron & sidesteps McCallister who knocks his partner off & The Mid-Atlantic Outlaws earn their 1st shot at the CWF Mid-Atlantic Tag titles on April 20.
#1MansOpinion: Good opener. Aric Andrews was impressive staying in as long as he did representing The KillBillies. The first time team of Lea & Kazi looked impressive but the story here was Coach Gemini’s 2nd string couldn’t quite get the job done as Houston & Moore stepped up to earn the shot against The Goon Squad. ** 3/4
Walter Eaton vs Mark James
1/2 of the Tag Champions Eaton couldn’t have been happy about the battle royal result but had his own test in veteran & crowd favorite  Mark James. Brad Stutts informs us James stated if he doesn’t win a championship in CWF this year, it will be the last year of his 15+ year career. This one is a pure brawl in the beginning with neither man backing down. Eaton goes for his neck breaker finish early but James reverses it & hits a spinning angle slam maneuver to pick up a huge, quick victory.
#1MansOpinion: Quick match, Both men looked strong. Eaton is a real talented tag team wrestler. This is one of the first times I’ve seen James & he looked good as well. It’s definitely a good story to follow through 2013 and see if James can capture a title this year and continue his long, storied career in the Southeast. ** 1/2
Cecil Scott leaves the commentary booth to get Mecha Mercenary ready for his match later. Amber Gertner joins Brad Stutts on commentary.
Arena Chicks Action
Amanda Rodriguez & Su Yung vs WOW Tag Champs The All-American Girls(Santana Garrett & Amber O’Neal)
Rodriguez has just a few matches under her belt & makes a veteran move tagging out to Su Yung who locks up with Amber to start the match. O Neal tags out to Garrett who takes over on Yung & then the WOW tag champs continue the assault with a nice double Russian leg sweep. Garrett hits a nice lucha tightrope arm drag, very athletic. Yung takes the lead instructing Rodriguez but the team cohesion isn’t there as it is for the team of Garrett & O’Neal. Yung tags back in & whips Garrett down by the hair. Yung controls Garrett with several surfboard style submissions showing her vicious streak while isolating Santana & not allowing O Neal in the ring. Rodriguez quickly tags in & slams Garrett’s head into the mat but quickly tags out to her veteran partner. Santana hits an ensuguiri on Yung as Amanda inadvertently distracts referee Missy Sampsom & both girls tag out & O’Neal takes over on Amanda with a face buster followed by the famous booty bop & even a double booty bop on both Yung & Rodriguez. O Neal tags Garrett back in & she finishes it off with a handspring moonsault on Yung giving The All-American Girls the win in their North Carolina debut.
#1MansOpinion: This was my first time seeing Garrett & she’s very impressive. Her & O’Neal (who is GREAT, I urge you to see her if you haven’t already) make an impressive team. Yung was vicious & brutal but the tag team continuity wasn’t there with her & Rodriguez. Amanda is still in the infancy of her career but trains hard & will be a ladies talent to keep an eye on in the future. **
Video Package detailing Security Guard & CWF trainee Big Aaron who had an altercation with the monstrous Mecha Mercenary in January. This lead to Aaron laying out a challenge to Mecha for his debut match here tonight at Madness in Any Direction
Mecha Mercenary w/ Cecil Scott vs Big Aaron Biggs
Biggs, the latest graduate of CWF’s training school speaks to the crowd about him waiting for his debut & that Mecha has pissed him off. Biggs says he didnt get here alone & announces his trainer Rob “Boogie Woogie Man” McBride. Mecha & Aaron start off with a test of strength & neither man is budging. The youngster gets an early advantage knocking Mecha off his feet but Cecil Scott at ringside slows Biggs down allowing Mecha to take over. Mecha continues to beat Biggs down with assistance from Scott at ringside, nearly getting a pin fall off a lariat. Mecha followed up missing a big elbow & Biggs takes over with pair  of corner splashes followed my a clothesline of his own. Mecha takes advantage of a Dust up between the managers outside & hits a middle rope splash for the win.
#1MansOpinion: Not much to speak of as far as wrestling moves in this one but that’s to be expected, especially with a battle of 2 big guys, Biggs held his own & got through his first in ring battle & will look to improve in the future. Mecha is an impressive big man . **
CWF Mid Atlantic TV Championship
“The Obsession” Caleb Konley vs Trevor Lee(c)
This is Lee’s first match since breaking his jaw at NPWD. Prior to that Lee has defended his TV title against impressive talents like Adam Page, Brad Attitude and many more. Konley is world traveled and will be another huge feather in Trevor’s Cap should he be able to pick up another big win. Konley controls Lee early as the TV champ reintroduces himself to the ring after his injury.  Lee builds his confidence back up & controls Caleb on the mat until missing a dropkick which Konley follows with a back senton for a 2 count. Konley reverses a bodypress from the champ into a blue thunder bomb variation but can’t get the win. Lee then takes a shot to the broken jaw & over sells it luring Konley in, which allows Lee to hit the high knee & retain the Television championship once again.
#1MansOpinion: slow start but once it got going this was a nice 8 minute match between two extremely talented guys. Konley has been nothing but impressive and Lee at his young age already has some huge wins under his belt & is someone to keep an eye on. ***
Gang Warfare
The BlackWatch(Solomon Spades, Joe Black, & Chase Dakota) vs Fatback Enterprises( Donnie Dollar$, Matty Denero, & Brad Stutts w/ Nick Richards)
Just after the bell rings 2 hooded guys jump Richards immediately giving The BlackWatch the numbers advantage. The action is all over the ring & on the floor from the start in this one. Dollars is left in the ring with Black, Dakota, & Spades, Donnie holds his own for awhile but even with Matty D’s help the Watch maintains control. Denero pulls out the Power Glove but before he can use it Nick Richards turns on Fatback hitting a cutter on Dollar$ & taking a chair to the rest of his former friends & teammates. In the ring Joe Black applies a choke on Matty Denero. Former Fatback member & CWF commissioner Corey Edsel comes out and takes out the Watch, taking Spades with him. This leaves Denero with Dakota & Joe Black, Chase hits Matty with a running kick to pick up the win in a wild & crazy gang warfare matchup.
#1MansOpinion: This was crazy from the start & the in ring action was overshadowed by the betrayal of Fatback Enterprises from Nick Richards & the return of Corey Edsel to assist his faction mates. What will be the fallout of this gang warfare match that was truly madness in any & EVERY direction!! ** 1/4
Intermission is NOT to be skipped if you’ve yet to see the #1 contenders match between Cedric Alexander Vs Marcellus King from earlier this year. Great back & forth from two men who are very familiar with one another. Also during intermission we take a look at Zane Dawson, the self proclaimed toughest, meanest man in pro wrestling is coming to CWF on April 20th. Dawson is a talented guy who you should also go out of your way to check out.
A recap is shown of the early rounds of the 1st Annual Corey Edsel Tough Man Tournament as the finals are set with the smallest man in the tourney Matt Smith vs former CWF Mid-Atlantic Champion Ray Kandrack.
Corey Edsel Toughman Tournament Finals
Matt Smith vs “The Assassin” Ray Kandrack
Smith using his speed to his advantage early on & wearing Kandrack down but the former champ catches Smith with a urinagi for a Nearfall.  Kandrack squeezes Smith with a bearhug but the youngster won’t quit. Kandrack goes for the Ray Gun & the referee gets knocked down. This brings Edsel down to officiate & Kandrack goes immediately back to the Ray Gun but Smith escapes again. Smith then hits a springboard footstomp to the kidneys followed by a roundhouse kick to the head & Smith completes his Cinderella story winning the Tournament and earning a shot at the CWF Mid-Atlantic title on 4/20/13.
#1MansOpinion: If you haven’t seen Matt Smith I suggest you do it soon. This young man is still early on in his career & already has loads of talent. Kandrack, a veteran moves well for a big man & has made a great reputation in the mid-Atlantic. ** 3/4
“The 1st” Ric Converse vs Xsiris
Former friends battle it out for leadership of The Aftermath in this one. Xsiris recently returned to CWF with his sights on leading the group but the 6 time Mid-Atlantic Champ Converse feels he should be in control of the future of the group he started 5 years back. Good solid technical wrestling to start with Converse controlling the action early but both men know each other so well neither could get the advantage for an extended period of time.  Converse gets a Nearfall with a crossbody but may have injured his shoulder & Xsiris focuses on punishing the injury. Converse hits a sky high after sustaining damage to his shoulder, followed my a clothesline but can’t put away his former partner. Converse goes for the Richter Scale & Xsiris blocks it on two different occasions but on the second Converse gets a backslide for the win. As the two former friends contemplate how to proceed, The Youth Movement of The Aftermath Trevor Lee, Ben Tyler, & Chet Sterling come out & assault both men. Lee then proclaims “There is only one leader of the Aftermath, & it’s Trevor Lee”
#1MansOpinion: Good battle between two solid talents who are a large part of the history of this promotion. The familarity these two have with each other made for a very good match. The Youth movement of The Aftermath lead by Trevor Lee made themselves the story of this match in the end & now the question is will Converse & Xsiris pair up once again to try & regain control of The Aftermath? ***
A great video package details One of the biggest main events in recent history featuring best friends battling it out for the number 1 prize in CWF. Arik Royal & Chiva trained together, won tag team gold together, made names for themselves at NPWD together and now have singles careers that have lead them to this meeting.
CWF Mid-Atlantic World Title Match
Chiva Kid vs Arik Royal(c)
Royal using his strength early, Chiva using his speed. but this is another case where both guys know each other so well & neither is giving the other an inch. Chiva hits a carousel headscissors but Royal shows his athleticism cartwheeling out of it. Chiva begins to get the advantage with headscissors & a standing shooting star, but when the Ultra J champ goes for a suicide dive Royal catches him & uses his strength back in the ring. Royal hits a brutal scoop slam followed by a knee lift & begins brutalizing  his friend with chops, strikes & suplex varations. Chiva flies again, hitting 2 suicide dives & a tope con Hilo but can’t put away the champion. Back in the middle of the ring & the two engage in a vicious chop battle as Brad Stutts & Cecil Scott remind us if anyone interferes  in this match they’ll immediately be fired from CWF, so we WILL have a winner here. Chiva hits the 630 moonsault & still can’t put Royal away. In fact Royal answered with an exploder suplex off the middle and this time Chiva kicked out. At this point The Aftermath came out to ringside & caught the attention of both competitors but they quickly refocused on the action in the ring & leaving Gibsonville with the CWF title. Royal caught the challenger coming off the top, hitting a knee to the face out of a suplex followed my a “Cobain Kick” but still could not put Chiva away. The Ultra J champ showed his Ingenuity climbing to the rafters & dropping down with a tornado DDT & even that couldn’t earn him the title. Chiva went up top one last time but Royal gored him as he came down & picked up the win to retain. Immediately The Aftermath swarmed the ring & Sterling & Tyler took Royal out as Trevor fulfilled his prophecy to reveal Chiva Kid’s identity, taking his mask off & leaving with the trademark goat mask.
#1MansOpinion: Arik & Chiva are two of the most impressive champions currently in the Southeast and  showed they are two talents not to be overlooked as they did at NPWD when they helped put CWF Mid Atlantic on the map. Royal & Chiva pulled out every trick in their bag & even some new ones but in the end Royal’s impressive title reign continued. The night only got worse for Chiva as he lost his mask to the hands of The Aftermath. *** 1/2
#1MansFINALOpinion: Like it or not The Youth Movement of The Aftermath made sure they were the focal point of CWF’s return to ippv as the trio was responsible for most of the Madness on this night. The stream was very good most of the night for live viewers & always clear. CWF is very speedy in getting their shows up for VOD & that has worked perfectly. Many stories developed out of this show. What is next for Fatback Enterprises after being betrayed by Nick Richards & defeated by The Black Watch? Can Matt Smith continue his run & defeat Arik Royal for the CWF title? Will Converse & Xsiris get on the same page to teach the youngsters in the Aftermath some respect? One thing is for sure, Trevor Lee went too far in unmasking Chiva Kid & there will be retribution. Thank you to CWF & their entire roster & staff for a great return to ippv.
ChivaUn                          CWF Mid-Atlantic TV Champ Trevor Lee celebrates after unmasking Chiva Kid
