This week: The (maybe or maybe not officially named) Authority’s actions finally catch up to them, as Big Show goes rogue and KO’s the COO. Plus, Rhodes Family versus Wyatt Family, RVD on NXT, Bob Backlund screams about something, staying hype with Mojo Rawley and the giant giant swing.

RAW

– Stephanie came out. She said the main event of Battleground was ruined by Big Show and called him out to answer to everybody. Big Show gave a phony apology and Stephanie got mad at him. She said that her and HHH owned him and told Big Show to beg for forgiveness, but Big Show refused. He claimed Stephanie told him to knock out Bryan and called HHH a son of a bitch, so Stephanie started slapping him and fired him. Big Show left saying that was fine.

Dolph Ziggler d. Damien Sandow in 8:46. Sandow dominated early, but Ziggler came back to win with a fameasser.

– Backstage Stephanie blamed Brad for everything that happened at Battleground. She told Brad to go out and publicly apologise and make it up to everybody. During the break, Bruno Sammartino came out and everybody sang happy birthday to him. On the app. Which they then showed on the show.

Natalya, Eva Marie and JoJo d. Alicia Fox, Aksana and Rosa Mendes (Natalya submitted Alicia) in 3:19. JoJo didn’t tag in. Eva however did and she wasn’t particularly great. She didn’t have to do much beside get beaten up, luckily. Natalya ended up beating Alicia with the sharpshooter.

– After the match Brad came out and apologised. He announced Bryan and Orton in a Hell In A Cell match and a fan vote for the special referee tonight. He brought out Booker T as the first choice, who said he’d do the right thing for business if he was chosen.

Los Matadores d. Jinder Mahal and Drew McIntyre of 3MB (Fernando pinned Drew) in 2:22. Los Matadores won again with their double team slam, which needs a name for my sake if nothing else. After the match, El Torito taunted Slater, who tried to attack but failed miserably and took a flying hurricanrana from El Torito.

– Heyman, Axel and Ryback came out. Heyman bragged about beating Punk with his hands tied behind his back again. He called Punk a bully and a cheater for the low blow he gave Ryback at Battleground. Punk interrupted and made fun of them. He accepted a rematch with Ryback and said that was what happened when you picked on someone smarter than him. Heyman told Ryback that Punk was bullying him, so Ryback dared him to come to the ring. Truth ran out and volunteered to join him, which led to a match.

CM Punk and R-Truth d. Ryback and Curtis Axel (Truth pinned Axel) in 9:18. Ryback refused to start with Punk. After Axel made a rough start, Truth was eventually cut off. Punk made a big comeback and gave Axel the GTS, before giving Truth the chance to get the pin with a scissors kick.

– Bob Backlund was the second option for special referee. He said (well, screamed incoherently) that everyone should vote for him because he didn’t care who won and if things got out of control, he’d put someone in the crossface chicken wing.

Randy Orton d. Kofi Kingston in 10:06. Orton took control after an even start. Kofi got back into it by the end and got a couple of near falls. Orton countered a springboard crossbody with a powerslam for a near fall of his own before Kofi missed a baseball slide and Orton attacked him outside. He gave Kofi the draping DDT off the barrier and threw him back in, to win with the RKO. Afterwards, Bryan ran out and attacked Orton, knocking him over the announce table with a dive before referees dragged Bryan off and Orton ran away.

– Backstage, Del Rio ran into Vickie. He said he should be the face of WWE because he was the only champion they had. Del Rio said he trusted Vickie to find him the right opponent tonight and showered her with compliments, including calling her sexy, before giving her his scarf and kissing her on the cheek. He rolled his eyes as he left and Vickie didn’t seem impressed once he was gone.

– The third option for special referee was Shawn Michaels. Shawn admitted he and HHH were best friends, but that was personal and he was there to talk business. He brought up training Daniel Bryan as well but he wouldn’t let anything sway him and asked everyone to vote for ‘HBShizzle’. He guaranteed to make sure there was a new champion and he didn’t care about what was best for business, he wanted what was best for the fans.

Ricardo Rodriguez d. Alberto Del Rio in 0:38. Del Rio was happy to have an easy match. But as soon as the match started, Vickie announced he’d be facing John Cena at Hell In A Cell. That distracted him and allowed Ricardo to roll him up for the pin. But Del Rio tripped Ricardo as he celebrated on the announce table and used a chair to try and break his arm with the cross armbreaker.

Fandango d. Zack Ryder in 2:45. Fandango won with the top rope legdrop to the back of the head.

– Shawn won the referee vote with 61%. Backlund somehow got 32% and Booker 7%.

The Real Americans d. Santino Marella and Great Khali (Cesaro pinned Khali) in 3:54. Battleground rematch. Cesaro did the giant swing to Khali again, as he did at Battleground, to get the pin. So if you didn’t see it first time, you saw it here. Then after the match, Cesaro did the giant swing on Hornswoggle as well, but Santino saved him with the cobra.

– Miz hosted MizTV. Or at least, he tried to. But the Wyatt Family interrupted and surrounded Miz. He managed to fend off Bray and got away though.

– Stephanie told Brad he still had a long way to go. HHH arrived and told Brad he’d go out and make sure what happened in the main event was best for business.

Daniel Bryan, Cody Rhodes and Goldust d. The Shield by DQ in 7:56. HHH watched from ringside. After The Shield made a slow start they worked over Cody after he was pushed off the top rope and into the barrier. Cody eventually hit the moonsault and Bryan ran wild, before the match broke down. Bryan got the YES Lock on Rollins and Ambrose used a chair on Cody to cause the DQ. But HHH restarted the match with no disqualifications.

No Disqualification Match: The Shield d. Daniel Bryan, Cody Rhodes and Goldust (Rollins pinned Bryan) in 0:51. Bryan hit a dive on Ambrose and Reigns, but Orton came through the crowd and gave Bryan an RKO on the floor, before throwing him in for the pin. The Shield continued the attack after the match until Big Show came out. The Shield beat down Big Show and HHH got in his face. But Big Show managed to break free and knocked HHH out. Bryan celebrated over HHH to end the show, as Big Show left.

MAIN EVENT

Three On Two Handicap Match: 3MB d. Tons Of Funk (Slater pinned Brodus) in 5:49. 3MB had their usual troubles early, but cut off Tensai. Brodus hit a second rope splash on Jinder but Drew made the save. And Slater managed to pin Brodus with a twisting slingshot splash after a blind tag and a boot when Brodus wasn’t looking.

Tamina Snuka d. Aksana in 3:30. Aksana was competitive, more than expected, before a big boot got the win for Tamina.

Big E Langston d. Zack Ryder in 7:42. Ryder made a comeback late on and hit his boot in the corner, but Big E countered a forearm in the corner with an STO before winning with the Big Ending.

NXT

Antonio Cesaro d. Leo Kruger in 11:58. This stemmed from last week when Cesaro and Kruger prevented each other from answering Bo’s open challenge. Cesaro hit Kruger with a dropkick immediately. The match stayed fairly back and forth to start, until Cesaro sent Kruger into the steps. Cesaro hit a gutwrench suplex on the ramp and tried to win by count out but Kruger beat the count. Kruger managed to avoid defeat numerous times, including a sleeper, but Cesaro finally hit the Neutraliser for the clean pin. Cesaro then gave Kruger a flying knee off the top after the match and Kruger had to be checked on by the doctor. So presumably this was designed to turn Kruger.

Charlotte d. Santana Garrett in 3:07. Renee joined commentary for this. Bayley was in Charlotte’s corner. Summer and Sasha came out during the match and after Charlotte won with a flipping ace crusher, Summer said she was the first lady and Sasha was the boss and they would run both NXT and WWE. They said there was nothing anyone could do about it, before Paige ran out. When she was overwhelmed Emma then made the save.

– Tony interviewed Summer and Sasha. Summer said they didn’t get embarrassed, they got even and challenged them to a tag match next week.

Mojo Rawley d. Danny Burch in 2:27. Burch held his own early, but Mojo fought back and won with, of all things, an Earthquake butt splash.

– Paige told Emma she didn’t need her help. Tony told them about Summer’s challenge and they accepted, but Paige didn’t seem thrilled with Emma or her dancing.

Alexander Rusev and Scott Dawson d. Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady (Rusev submitted Enzo) in 2:49. Enzo took a beating and tapped to the camel clutch with Cassady knocked off the apron. After the match they attacked Cassady and he was put in the camel clutch as well.

– Renee interviewed Sami. Sami began talking about his match next week, but Bo interrupted. He said what he did last week was really not cool and that he hurt his feelings. Sami said he was just after the title. Bo tried to convince him to go after the tag titles as friends instead and Sami agreed, after he beat him for the NXT Title. Bo deemed this to be unBolievable and looked appalled.

Rob Van Dam d. Aiden English in 5:33. Aiden’s song this week was fantastic. RVD still had Ricardo with him. He took nearly all of the match and won with the frog splash, so we didn’t even get to hear English sing again.

SMACKDOWN

– Vickie talked about the Big Show situation, but was interrupted by Del Rio. Del Rio asked Vickie to reconsider his match with Cena. She teased reconsidering if he kissed her, which he did, but Vickie still told him no. Sandow then came out. He said he was most attracted to Vickie’s intellect and Del Rio was only trying to manipulate her because he knew he’d lose to Cena. Sandow said given the opportunity, he’d prove he was the better man, so Vickie put them in a match. Del Rio gave Sandow a cheap shot but Sandow fought him off.

WWE Intercontinental Championship: Curtis Axel (c) d. R-Truth in 6:38 to retain the title. Truth almost won with a scissors kick, but Axel grabbed the rope at 2. Axel then recovered to win with the face first neckbreaker.

Los Matadores d. Los Locals (Diego pinned Los Local #2) in 3:46. One of Los Locals was the normal Los Local, who may or may not be Ricardo Rodriguez. The other may or may not have been Tyson Kidd. Los Matadores won again, with their double team finisher. After the match, El Torito taunted the ‘other’ Local and gave him a tope rope hurricanrana, before Los Matadores hit their finisher with El Torito adding a seated senton for a triple team.

Brie Bella and The Funkadactyls d. Natalya, Kaitlyn and Eva Marie (Naomi pinned Kaitlyn) in 2:59. After an even start the match broke down (in the good way), with everybody catching each other with moves back and forth, until Naomi reversed a Kaitlyn roll up for the pin. The Bellas and Funkadactyls danced afterwards.

– Renee interviewed Cody and Goldust. They said they beat the odds at Battleground and thanked the fans and tonight was their welcome back.

Alberto Del Rio d. Damien Sandow by submission in 11:32. Sandow played the face here. And in the earlier segment to some degree. Del Rio tried to take his belt and leave early on but Sandow stopped him. The match was fairly even throughout, with both getting near falls at the end, before Del Rio gave Sandow a cheap shot to the knee as the referee was restraining him and won with the cross armbreaker.

Great Khali and The Primetime Players d. 3MB (Khali pinned Slater) in 5:04. 3MB got the advantage on Young for a while, before Titus ran wild and Khali beat Slater with the big chop.

Cody Rhodes and Goldust d. The Wyatt Family (Cody pinned Harper) in 10:04. Bray cut a promo on the screen before the Wyatts came out. The Wyatts worked over Goldust. Cody eventually made a comeback and hit a dive on Rowan, before taking a big boot from Harper. Harper then caught Goldust with the spinning clothesline, but Cody managed to catch him with a sunset flip out of the corner to get the win. This was easily the best Wyatt Family match since getting called up to the main roster.

What You (Probably) Need To See:
– Cesaro versus Kruger on NXT.
– Del Rio versus Sandow from Smackdown.
– And the Wyatt Family against Goldust and Cody on Smackdown
