CWF Mid-Atlantic kicked things off this year with a loaded card on January 11 at New Year’s Knockout 2014. There’s a lot of exciting things happening in Gibsonville, North Carolina right now and here are the results from a VERY eventful night:

RAGE & THE MACHINE (MECHA MERCENARY & MICHAEL McALLISTER) defeated KAMAKAZI KID & LEE VALIANT to win the Mid-Atlantic Tag-Team Championships in the first match of 2014. It was obvious from the moment we saw them that Kazi and Valiant had not patched up their partnership and as they argued and ultimately brawled, Mecha and McAllister quickly capitalized to win the belts convincingly.

Maniacal Marine BOBBY WOHLFERT defeated the All Stars’ WALTER EATON in a hard hitting slugfest.

NICK RICHARDS and JASON MILLER defeated AARON BIGGS and the returning JAKOB HAMMERMEIER. Jakob had originally found himself in a 2 on 1 before Biggs intervened and made the save. The budding issue between Miller and Biggs continues to heat up, but we learned at New Year’s Knockout that the long-standing issue between Nick Richards and DONNIE DOLLARS will end once and for all on January 25 in a Dog Collar Match where both men will be bound at the neck by a fifteen foot dog chain. There will be nowhere to run and no way to hide in this feud-ending final battle and Donnie Dollars has promised to spill Richards’ blood all over the Mid-Atlantic Sportatorium.

Television Champion CHASE DAKOTA successfully defended his title against COACH GEMINI and ROY WILKINS in a two on one handicap match, after originally drawing Coach’s name at random from his list of potentially challengers. Coach coaxed Dakota into accepting a 2 on 1 elimination match but Dakota countered by asking a confused RIC CONVERSE to be his corner man for the bout after insisting that he and Converse were long-time friends.

MARK JAMES regrettably said goodbye to the Mid-Atlantic Sportatorium and its fans, citing a vow that he made a year ago to either hold a championship in CWF Mid-Atlantic or leave the organization. Matchmaker Brad Stutts tried persuading James to remain on board with the group but James insisted he was a man of his word and said that while he wasn’t hanging up his boots entirely, he had to honor his word and severe ties with CWF Mid-Atlantic specifically.

THE KILLBILLIES continued their recent wars with rising stars SMITH GARRETT & CHARLIE WESTON. Unfortunately their recent cold streak continued as well as Smith & Weston squeaked out yet another victory over the former champions. Killbilly ARIC ANDREWS expressed his frustration with his partner after the loss and insisted it was time for them to snap their cold streak or look for other options.

Mid-Atlantic Champion ARIK ROYAL retained the championship against 2013 Rookie of the Year MANNY GARCIA. After the bout former Mid-Atlantic Champion “DANGEROUS E” COREY EDSEL, the man whose record-setting title reign Royal will break if he is still champion on February 15, challenged Royal for a future title shot. But before Royal could answer, Corey was interrupted by Garcia who insisted HE deserved another shot. Garcia and Edsel will meet 1 on 1 on January 25 in what many people are calling an unofficial number one contender’s match.

After formally announcing that February 8 will be an all Ultra J showcase event, the high flying stars of the Ultra J division took center stage in the evening’s main event as CEDRIC ALEXANDER and LANCE LUDE defeated TREVOR LEE and CHET STERLING in an all out war. Trevor continued to attack a KO’d Lude after the bell until Ultra J Champion ANDREW EVERETT ran Trevor off. Everett will defend against Trevor in a no time limit two out of three falls match for the championship in the main event of the Ultra J showcase on February 8.

Already announced for January 25’s night of grudge matches:

NICK RICHARDS versus DONNIE DOLLARS in their final battle Dog Collar Match.

Six man tag-team grudge match: SMITH GARRETT, CHARLIE WESTON and “THE ASSASSIN” RAY KANDRACK versus THE KILLBILLIES and JIMMY PARKER.

In what many are calling an “unofficial” number one contender’s match 2013 PWI Rookie of the Year MANY GARCIA versus “DANGEROUS E” COREY EDSEL.

In the final battle between Dynasty and the All-Stars, “THE FIRST” RIC CONVERSE will face WALTER EATON one-on-one for bragging rights to CWF’s greatest group.

Plus CHASE DAKOTA will defend the Television Championship against another opponent selected via random lottery, new Tag-Team Champions MECHA MERCENARY and MICHAEL McALLISTER, RGL Champion CHET STERLING, CHRIS LEA and many others!
