Special Bonus Match For PPV Viewers: Rey Mysterio & DJ Z vs. Ophidian & Jason Gory!
Courtesy of our friends at the International Wrestling Cartel, we will be providing PPV customers with footage of a special bonus match during our live intermission, as we present a one-of-a-kind match filmed just over a week ago in Pennsylvania. One of the true trendsetters who paved the way for every welterweight we see today, Rey Mysterio joined forces with one of the most innovative and dynamic athletes of today, DJ Z, to battle two stalwarts of the Welterweight brand – reigning Welterweight Champion Jason Gory and the “Master of Snake Style” Ophidian! We’ll show you everything that happened in its entirety!

Brian Pillman To Be Honored On Welterweight 3 PPV Broadcast – Pillman Jr. To Attend!

Welterweight Wrestling is always eager to recognize the trendsetters, the pioneers, those who helped usher in the idea of smaller athletes being given a big stage and cruiserweights and junior heavyweights that paved the way for the type and style of athlete you see today. One such trendsetter was the late, great Flyin’ Brian Pillman, who dazzled crowds with his aerial onslaught and fearless attitude, perhaps most notably in a memorable series of matches against the iconic Jushin Thunder Liger in the early 1990s. Welterweight Wrestling is proud to honor Brian Pillman with a posthumous lifetime achievement award. Brian Pillman Jr, just now embarking on his own career as a professional wrestler, will be on hand to accept the award and address the crowd. The contributions of Brian Pillman to professional wrestling as a whole will surely never be forgotten.

Full Card For Welterweight 3…

Welterweight Championship: Jason Gory w/Atticus Cogar vs. Nate Wings

“The New Age Plague” Jason Gory has infected the Welterweights with darkness, hatred, pestilence, and despair. With the likes of Atticus Cogar watching in the shadows, prepared to do the champion’s bidding to create a hostile world in which only they can thrive in, Gory has turned away all top challengers since defeating Ace Perry at Welterweight 2.

Nate Wings has emerged triumphant as a story of hope and determination. In spite of enduring much pain and hardship, Nate has forged ahead in his goal of being champion, surviving to the final four of the Welterweight 1 Tournament, then winning the 7-Way Elimination Scramble at Welterweight 2 to ensure his championship opportunity!

Can the smallest Welterweight on the roster capture its biggest prize? Has the environment created by Gory & Atticus all but ensured that the Welterweight Title will remain ruled by those who would rather destroy the dreams of others than chase their own?

STREETFIGHT: Dylan Bostic vs. Ace Perry

Dylan Bostic is the epitome of vanity, selfishness, and entitlement. Feeling he is the only true athlete deserving to be Welterweight Champion, Bostic has spent a year with a chip on his shoulder. Calling himself “Moneyweight”, Dylan resents anyone who dares challenge his thinking, or bursts his bubble to send him back to reality. Bostic was ONE competitor away from capturing the Welterweight Championship at Welterweight 1. When he came up just short, he couldn’t let go. Twitter campaigns, hostility towards management, and a near-public meltdown led to Bostic being banned from Welterweight 2, but a tainted victory against the man who beat him for the title in the first place has given “Swaggy D” even more to brag and boast about.

Ace Perry IS that man who beat Dylan Bostic to become the first Welterweight Champion and send Dylan into a meltdown. Full of positive energy, untamed athleticism, and an unwavering amoung of determination, the “One Man Boy Band” was the perfect man to be the face of Welterweight Wrestling… and it drove Bostic insane. Perry has overcome challenge after challenge, and even after being defeated for the title amidst controversy at Welterweight 2, Perry was frustrated, but remained focused. Perry has never let critics define him, including the likes of Bostic, who has been degrading and demeaning Perry since both were teenagers struggling to get noticed.

On Sunday, April 29 at Welterweight Wrestling 3, a decade of hostility finally comes to a head, as the rules are erased, and both men do battle in a Streetfight!

4 WAY ELIMINATION MATCH: Myron Reed vs. Trey Miguel vs. Ace Austin vs. Cole Radrick
The state of Ohio has been a hotbed for young, rising talent in recent years, and one of the main reasons for that is the incredible surge of talent in the Dayton area. Myron Reed has been one of the most buzzworthy athletes of the past year, proving he belongs in the upper echelon of top indepdendent talent today. Cole Radrick has used his unorthodox energetic nature to establish himself as one to watch in the years ahead. Ace Austin is in the best shape of his life and has become more and more noticeable at several top promotions in the midwest and east coast. Trey Miguel is on the cusp of truly breaking out from the pack, and has already plied his trade internationally and on worldwide television.

There is a sense of competitive pride between all four who know what it’s like to train, eat, travel, study, and even live together in their respective journeys. No matter who or where we are referring to, everyone wants to be the “stand-out”, everyone wants to be the “one to watch”. On Sunday, April 29, we will determine which of these four can out-last the others. Who is the pride of Dayton and who is the one poised to change the wrestling world? It’s Elimination Rules as four men who know each other better than almost anyone do battle for pride, bragging rights, and a chance to shine on the PPV stage!

Ten Man Elimination Tag Match: Ophidian, Frightmare, Cornelius Crummels, Shawn Phoenix, Alex Jordan vs. Rory Gulak, Rayo, Eye Candy Elliott, Bret Havoc & The Whisper
Ophidian The Cobra and Rory Gulak’s recent issues stemmed from the 7-Way #1 Contender Scramble in Welterweight 2. Both blamed the other for their respective eliminations, which led to a post-match brawl that stretched all the way backstage. Now, both return with vengeance on their mind, captaining hand-selected teams in an old fashioned traditional elimination rules match!

Ophidian will be joined by fellow CHIKARA stand-outs Frightmare and Cornelius Crummels, along with rising Welterweight stars Shawn Phoenix and Alex Jordan who, while very talented, have seen their careers stall due to major trust issues with one another. Will Ophidian be able to hold this team of conflicting personalities together?

“The Amazing” Gulak has chosen Welterweight 2 stand-out Eye Candy Elliott Paul, former Welterweight Title top contender Rayo, the debuting midwest standout Bret Havoc, and perhaps most dangerous of all, the man who waged war with the mind of Ophidian in CHIKARA and even stole his identity for quite some time, The Whisper.

Two teams of five will strive to survive but only one can last! Who will the sole survivor(s) be on FITE on April 29?

Anthony Henry vs. Sonny Vice
Two athletes who stepped up and made a statement will battle one another on Sunday, April 29 at Welterweight 3! Anthony Henry stole the show in his battle with Jason Kincaid at Welterweight 2, and now looks to be the buzz of the brand once again! Sonny Vice stepped up in an impromptu battle against Trey Miguel that ended up being the most physical battle of Welterweight 2. Both earned respect on that night, but not victories. Someone will make amends for their narrow defeat as former EVOLVE Tag Team Champion Henry battles former Premier Champion Vice one-on-one on pay-per-view!

Gregory Iron vs. Lee Moriarty
“The Handicapped Hero” Gregory Iron has faced obstacles his entire life, from cerebral palsy to concussions to critics and detractors every step of the way. While nothing has ever kept Greg down for long, one serious groin injury did keep him from being medically cleared to compete at Welterweight 2, forcing Greg to watch on from the sidelines.

“Apex of Combat” Lee Moriarty claims to be disciplined and focused, but his actions say otherwise. Lee used Welterweight 2 to mock and publicly humiliate Iron, then tried to pick a fight with the “Handicapped Hero” as he sat for ringside commentary during Lee’s match. Iron stood up for himself, and Lee showed how low he could stoop, striking Iron in his injured groin.

Lee has been calling out Iron ever since – blaming Greg for being a “distraction”, upset Greg received a Welterweight Title shot before he did, and degrading the career Greg has sacrificed everything to build. Word has it Greg is just a tiny bit angry at the circumstances, and Lee will finally get his chance to back up his words when he goes one-on-one with Iron at Welterweight 3! Will we see Lee rise to the occasion or will Gregory Iron make Lee eat his words?

Ryan Kidd vs. Gavin Glass
Gavin Glass was able to score his biggest Welterweight win to date and add some credence to his claim of being “A Cut Above The Rest” with his victory over Sonny Kiss at Welterweight 2. “Mr. Excitement” Ryan Kidd has kept himself a perennial top contender to the Welterweight Championship, but is in search of the victory that can solidify him as one of Welterweight Wrestling’s elite. Gavin has traveled the country in an effort to prove his superiority, while Ryan has traveled the world spreading the love and passion he feels toward professional wrestling. Who will come out on top in this clash of hungry contenders on PPV?

Stevie Fierce vs. Sage Philips
Stevie Fierce has quickly risen up the ranks in the Chicago area and brings a brash confidence with him to every stage he performs on. Always with his trusty mirror by his side, Stevie would love nothing more than to watch himself climb the ranks of Welterweight Wrestling! Meanwhile, Sage Philips has become a student of the game. The man dubbed “proficient” has traveled the country, wrestling and attending seminars & camps at every opportunity. While Sage has put in the grunt work and is ready for his big break, Stevie is already enjoying the attention he receives… a lot. Will Sage play spoiler or will Stevie’s Welterweight success become a mirror image of the rest of his body of work?
