The opening video recaps the Pentagon Jr. vs. Shane Strickland feud, hyping the #1 Contender main event between Pentagon and Fenix.

Kotto Brazil vs. Trey Miguel

MLW usually kicks off their shows with rock solid matches, and this was no exception. While not on par with ACH/Aries from week 1, this was a great match, showcasing two top prospects. Trey Miguel has been tearing it up in the midwest scene for quite some time now, and he’s finally getting on a bigger stage. Him winning was the right call, as it seems like Kotto Brazil is just an enhancement talent. Kotto is very solid in the ring, and definitely has potential. This one had an invested crowd, started off hot, and had some good exchanges. Great opener, with the right man winning.

Winner: Trey Miguel

Match Rating: ***

We go to Puerto Rico, where Rich Bocchini is scheduled to interview Salina De La Renta at her house. The interview is cut short after she shoves Rich into a pool. This then switches to a backstage interview, where Salina announces that she has signed with both Pentagon and Fenix.

Highlights from last weeks main event are shown, and the post match attack with Team Filthy on Jimmy Havoc. Tom Lawlor and Simon Gotch are chilling out in a pool, as they talk about attacking Jimmy Havoc last week.

Elimination Tag: The Dirty Blondes (Michael and Leo) w/Colonel Robert Parker vs. Team TBD (Jason Cade and Jimmy Yuta)

The Dirty Blondes are a good old-school, throwback style team. On the flip side, Team TBD are a fun and energetic babyface team, that gets over well with the crowd. This type of match was perfect for Cade and Yuta, because once Yuta was eliminated first, it allowed Cade to play the never say die babyface. Overall, the match had a fun start, but slowed down in the middle, and never really picked up again until the finish. Col. Robert Parker pulled the legs of Cade, bringing him down, and distracting the referee, which allowed for Michal and Leo to hit a double team on Cade, picking up the win. It’ll be interesting to see how these two teams fare in the upcoming tournament to crown Tag Champions.

Winners: The Dirty Blondes

Match Rating: **1/2

Team TBD storms to the back, and are questioned if they are in sync or not. Yuta tells everyone that they will be in sync for the tag team tournament.

Shane Strickland is interviewed backstage, he says that he will be ready for next week, and targets Pentagon, saying he is afraid of Strickland, and Strickland will still be champion after next week. There sure doesn’t seem to be much of a chance of Fenix winning this main event. . .

Double Jeopardy: Rey Fenix vs. Pentagon Jr. w/Salina De La Renta

As expected, Pentagon gets the win, and is now 2-0 over his brother in MLW. This was a bit better than their match from the debut episode. Fenix could have gotten a bit more in down the stretch, but there was the amazing near fall after Pentagon snapped his arm, and then hit the cradle suplex variation, only for Fenix to kick out. This seemed like a great spot for Fenix to get a fiery comeback, but instead Pentagon hit the Package Piledriver, to secure the win. Overall, this was a great match, the best thing on the show, and one of the best on Fusion, if not Fusion’s best match yet. Things are sure to pick up next week, when Pentagon challenges Shane Strickland for the MLW Heavyweight Championship.

Winner: Pentagon Jr.

Match Rating: ***1/2

Final Thoughts:

With a fun opening contest, good elimination tag, and then a great main event, you can’t go wrong. Behind the debut episode, this was the best Fusion to date. MLW has tons of potential with this weekly series, with next week showcasing that. Pentagon vs. Strickland is a match that’s been building for weeks, and we finally get the big championship match. The main event is definitely worth your time, Pentagon and Fenix can do no wrong when in the ring together, and they showed that again here tonight.

Show Rating: 7/10
