NXT NOVEMBER 21ST 2018

Keith Lee vs. Fidel Bravo
Complete squash for Lee.

Kairi/Baszler recap. They acknowledged that Kairi’s shoulder came up during the final pin here. Cathy interviewed Shayna, with Marina and Jessamyn, with Shayna saying no-one could stop them.

Recap of Ohno and Riddle’s impromptu match. It sure would have been nice to watch them have a proper match on this show as scheduled. I’d like to think they didn’t change their minds last minute just because enough people complained on Twitter, but who knows. Anyway, Riddle was interviewed about having the quickest unscheduled win in Takeover history and he was happy about it.

Lars Sullivan vs. Keita Murray
Another squash. Lars said that was a warning and an example of what would keep happening until he got an NXT Championship match, before teasing another Freak Accident to make sure he’d made his point. Keith Lee made the save though and ran Lars off.

Gargano/Black highlights video. This got the big production treatment. Black refused an interview afterwards and ran into Candice, who just stared at him displeased.

Ciampa/Dream recap.

Lee and Lars were shown been kept apart backstage, setting up the announcement of a match for next week’s show.

War Games match highlight package.

Candice LaRae vs. Nikki Cross
This was, presumably, Nikki’s NXT write-off. The dynamic was weird here early, since I guess Candice is the face, but they might be teasing that she’s not and technically Nikki’s also a face, I think, but Candice is mad at her. So I don’t know. Then again, this whole whodunnit was a bit of a head scratcher. Best not to think about it too much. Candice kicked out of the Purge and they sold that nobody had ever kicked out of it. Things seemed to get a bit clearer at the end, with Candice hitting a curbstomp and getting booed for it, before using the Gargano Escape and only breaking at four when Nikki made the ropes. Then Nikki hit a hanging swinging neckbreaker and got the win on what I assumed was her farewell. Maybe I should heed my earlier advice. Match was pretty good and I guess this is going somewhere for Candice.

RECOMMENDED VIEWING: Candice and Nikki was decent, not sure it’s worth seeking out especially though.

NXT WEEK: Lars Sullivan against Keith Lee.
