Once again we recap the Tessa/Santana feud, but it’s just a quick video as Santana is in the ring to kick off the show. Santana wants Tessa Blanchard tonight! Out comes Jungle Grrrl, who tells Santana she hasn’t ever been pinned to lose the title. Before David McLane can say anything, Tessa Blanchard makes her way to the ring. McLane tells Tessa she isn’t supposed to be out here, and he’ll kick Tessa out and fine her if she touches Santana. Tessa has already done everything she needed to in WOW to earn a title match, but McLane says she doesn’t make the matches. Tessa replies with “I always get what I want”, and McLane asks the fans what they think. The fans want this to go down! So tonight, Santana will be defending against Tessa and Jungle Grrrl.

The Beverly Hills Babe and Lana Star are taking selfies in the back, but Lana Star says they need to focus. Star is an executive producer of WOW, and she tells The Beverly Hills Babe she needs to focus. Time to move on from Amber Land and check into Lana Land.

The Beverly Hills Babe w/Lana Star vs. Eye Candy

There wasn’t anything interesting in this one, and I’m honestly not a huge fan of either. Eye Candy impressed in her first match, but this was slow and boring, and the crowd didn’t seem to care. The finish was especially botchy, it’s been done so many times before but was poorly executed here. Eye Candy had the match won, but Lana distracted the ref, only for the ref to count the pin, but Eye Candy kind of let off the pin to go after Lana. Didn’t make any sense, and then Beverly Hills Babe hit a superkick which Eye Candy didn’t sell, but finished it off with a nice backslide.

Winner: The Beverly Hills Babe

Match Rating: **

Lana Star cuts a quick promo after the match, talking about how she turned Amber O’Neal into the Beverly Hills Babe (which really sucks to type out a lot), and she’s putting the locker room on notice.

Our next spotlighted character is Stephy Slays! She was bullied as a kid because she was different, that being she didn’t have a father. Slays was at rock bottom, but her mother brought her back into things when she was introduced to pro wrestling. Can’t wait to see her in the ring, this was great.

Interview time with Jessie Jones. She says we all saw what she did to her opponent a few weeks ago, and tonight it’ll be the same to Stephy Slays.

Jessie Jones vs. Stephy Slays

Better than the opener, but I still don’t find Jessie Jones interesting at all. Her work in the ring seems limited, and her finish is insanely weak. This felt like it should’ve been here to give Slays a nice debut win, but instead they went with Jones. Jones controlled a good portion of the match, there was a nice little near fall for Slays, but that was it. Jones locked in her weak armbar and picked up the win.

Winner: Jessie Jones

Match Rating: **1/4

Jessie Jones demands respect from everyone after the match. Nice fake crowd audio used in these post match promos…

Stephy Slays has some ice on her arm in the back, as Abeline Maverick walks by and tells her “she’s playing with the big girls now”.

Holidead vs. Azteca

Finally a good match! Holidead is great, and it’s awesome seeing her here in WOW. I wanted to see more of Azteca after her first match, and I’m glad these two got a good amount of time to work. Azteca was over like crazy, and she picked up a shocking win, which is something no one saw coming! Good back and forth action, and while it took a little work to set up the Code Red finish, I thought it looked awesome. Good match with two very talented women, with a surprising outcome.

Winner: Azteca

Match Rating: ***

After the match, the lights go out and out comes The Voodoo Doll! She attacks Azteca, and stares down Holidead, but the lights go out again, and once they’re back on, both The Voodoo Doll and Holidead are gone.

WOW Championship: Santana Garrett (c) vs. Jungle Grrrl vs. Tessa Blanchard

While it lasted, I thought this was a really good three way. Sure, it had the typical three way formula where it was mostly one on one, but all three are extremely talented and this was one of the best matches of the season. They didn’t get a ton of time, but the finish was done to continue the feud between all three. I wonder why we haven’t seen anything from The Beast lately. She had that staredown with Jungle Grrrl on the first episode but hasn’t appeared since. Anyways, the finish was Santana and Jungle both pinning Tessa at once while the referee counted to three. Interesting decision, but you wouldn’t want any of these three ladies losing clean here. We’ll have to see where all of this leads to.

Winner: No Contest

Match Rating: ***1/4

Final Thoughts:

The show started off with a poor match, but things picked up and I’d have to say this has been the best episode to date. The main feud of the show has been Tessa/Santana, but they’ve done a great job of also including Jungle Grrrl and making her look strong. On this show, Lana Storm and The Beverly Hills Babe got some time to shine, Stephy Slays was introduced, Azteca put on a great match with Holidead and picked up a surprising win, and there’s more questions than answers coming out of the main event. Tessa got pinned by both Santana and Jungle, so does that leave her out of the title mix for now? I’m really intrigued to see where it goes, as we’ve reached the halfway point of the season. Great episode if you skip the first match.

Final Rating: 7.0/10
