Drew Cordiero has done A LOT in pro wrestling. Uncharted Territory was a great weekly series from Beyond Wrestling that airs on IndependentWrestling.TV. Drew recently wrote a statement about season 1 as we await season 2. Here it is:

I know a lot of people who are motivated by naysayers. They always feel like they have something to prove. I’ve never been one of those people. Maybe it is simply perspective, or maybe I extremely fortunate that I’ve always had more supporters than detractors.

“Uncharted Territory” is the coolest thing that I’ve ever been a part of. The idea was inspired by the weekly wrestling events at Jack Witschi’s throughout the 1970s. The format was perfected following the success of last year’s “Please Come Back” and “It’s Alive” events. We had a better turnout and more buzz by dropping ticket prices, focusing on building new talent, and live streaming on a weekday.

There’s a lot of unsung heroes. Please don’t feel slighted if I didn’t mention you by name.

Thank you to Rachael Michaud for sticking by my side while I work like a madman.

Thank you to Anthony Mortarelli and the rest of the Electric Haze crew for giving us our start.

Thank you to Steve Ricard and the Top Rope Promotions crew for making sure we had working equipment every single week and rolling with the countless hits.

Thank you to Allan Petteruto for having my back over the years and running the front of the house since April.

Thank you to Tanya Christina Cornell and her amazing staff for making us look better than ever.

Thank you to Jon Washer for the incredible action shots and promo pictures.

Thank you to Michelle Dumas for being flexible and getting the out-of-towners to the show on time, even on short notice, on more than one occasion.

Thank you to Gerard Durling and everyone involved at IndependentWrestling.TV for making the drives up to New England EVERY SINGLE WEDNESDAY so that we could reach a worldwide audience.

Thank you to John Sebastion, Samantha Lariviere, and Mitchell Waterman for joining our team, pushing us to work harder, and helping us grow rapidly.

Thank you to all of the season ticket holders for supporting an unproven format.

Thank you to the hundreds of fans who injected the series with palpable energy week after week.

Thank you to the students of Create A Pro Wrestling Academy and New England Pro Wrestling Academy for doing the menial jobs when nobody else wanted to. You will be rewarded.

Thank you to everyone that contributed to the coverage online, whether it was sharing pictures and clips on social media, writing reports and reviews, or even just using the hashtag.

Thank you to our broadcast team Rich Palladino, Paul Joseph, Joey Eastman, and Deana Rae for telling our stories.

Most importantly, and I will forever be in debt, thank you to the wrestlers who risk life and limb every single time they perform in the name of putting on a good show. I know the schedule was grueling. I know the expectations are set impossibly high. And yet you all continued to deliver.

I hope everyone involved truly understands just how historically significant the last 4 months have been. As Season 01 comes to a close, in many ways it is just the beginning of what Beyond Wrestling was always meant to be. We are here to serve the wrestlers first and foremost.

Get some rest. It’ll be October before you know it. See you in Pawtucket!
