Darby Allin Def. Sammy Guevara

Highlights:

  • Sammy Guevara doesn’t wait for the match to start and takes the fight to Allin. After beating him down Guevara sets up a bridge using a ladder and the barrier and performs a big splash on Allin.
  • Allin battle back once in the ring and for the rest of the match Guevara is battling with one boot.
  • Taking the fight outside Darby has the advantage goes for a suicide dive and ends up with a face full of nothing.
  • A 630 senton and Guevara looks to have the win but thanks to ring awareness Allin gets a rope break.
  • Allin reverses Guevara’s burning hammer GTS into the last supper to pick up the victory.

Review:

Sammy and Darby are one of the best rivalries on the roster right now. Sammy with his high flying acrobatic style versus Darby’s reckless aggression.

Despite the opening being all Sammy as the match goes on it feels like it could be anyone’s ball game and momentum switches with the right move or a miss. I honestly thought it was all over when Sammy hit the 630 Senton.

For a TV match, this is pretty good hopefully we’ll see more in this rivalry soon.

Kenny Omega Def. Alan Angels

Highlight:

  • Alan Angels low dropkick and back body drop on Kenny Omega.
  • Alan’s bottom rope dropkick had some good distance.
  • Kenny Showing a rare display of power with a carry to powerbomb.

 Review:

What could have been a squash match was more than that. Alan Angels gets a chance to show some of his in-ring ability. While not the best match it has a solid foundation and is more than just enhancement for Kenny.

Orange Cassidy Def. Jimmy Havoc

Highlights:

  • Jimmy Havoc wastes no time going after Orange Cassidy and assaults him before the bell, choking him with his own jacket.
  • With Orange Cassidy outside the ring Jimmy Havoc continues the assault throwing Cassidy into the guard rail and suplexing him off it.
  • After being dominated by Havoc Cassidy comes back with a dropkick to suicide dive and then leaping from the top rope, ending in a tilt a whirl DDT
  • With Orange in control Penelope comes in for the distraction but is stopped by Chuck Taylor. Kip Sabian comes out to defend Ford with a huge dive onto the best friends.

Review:

Orange Cassidy is one of the most divisive wrestlers today. Some praise his style as cutting edge and original, while others see it as lazy and pandering. This is a match that caters to his detractors with Jimmy Havoc beating him down throughout. When Orange Cassidy does start to fight back it’s his style of quick action and then back to normal. A good match that builds the feud between The Best Friends and Sabian with Havoc.

Wardlow Def. Lee Johnson

Highlights:

  • Wardlow tosses Lee Johnson around with such power and strength he sends him back and forth around the ring.

Review:

Another squash match for Wardlow featuring Lee Johnson in another losing effort. Though Johnson does get some defense in it’s obvious where this is going. One has to wonder what will happen if Lance Archer, Wardlow, and Brodie Lee come face to face to face who will win?

Brodie Lee Def. Justin Law

Review:

Not much to say here this is another enhancement match with Justin Law getting the ragdoll treatment. Having two matches like this back to back is bad enough but Law was just a wrestling buddy for Brodie Lee at least Johnson got in some defense.

Dustin Rhodes Def. Kip Sabian

Highlights:

  • The match starts with both men going back and forth dodging each other and hitting the ropes until Rhodes gets Sabian with the drop-down uppercut.
  • Kip Sabian working Dustin’s knee and seeing the effects of it throughout the match.
  • Sabian’s swinging DDT from the middle rope.
  • Brandi spearing Penelope and stopping her from interfering.

Review:

A solid match from an up and comer and a veteran. Rhodes takes the most damage in this match getting beat down by Sabian and having to dig deep to pull out the win. Minor complaints don’t use Dustin finishing his career as a story point. If he’s gonna retire it deserves to be a bigger deal.
