This evening’s MLW Fusion featured the final two first round matches of the Opera Cup. Additionally, CONTRA’s “Black hand” Mads Krugger made his in-ring debut. Tonight’s episode of MLW Fusion can be watched below:

Strong Points of the Show

  • ACH and Laredo Kid gelled really well together during the opening match. The action was solid and well done throughout the whole contest.
  • I appreciate that CONTRA is challenging the Von Erichs for the tag team championships next week. Having CONTRA target all champions seems like the logical next step in regards to the storyline between CONTRA and MLW. I’m interested to see if CONTRA can keep collecting championships or not.
  • Ariel Dominguez did a great job of selling Mads Krugger’s offense. Dominguez took a good beating and in the process helped establish CONTRA’s newest member.
  • There was a good build-up to tonight’s main event throughout the hour. Showing footage from last year’s Opera Cup Final during the broadcast helped add a big fight feel to the match between Low Ki and Davey Boy.

Weak Points of the Show

  • The framing of the first couple of interviews came across awkward. The main problem was the microphone placement. You could see the microphone but not well and it came across a bit odd.
  • There was a weird glitch towards the end of ACH’s post match interview. Not sure if that was just on my broadcast or not. However, the technical mishap took a little bit away from the effectiveness of ACH’s promo.
  • This is a recurring complaint from last week’s episode. I still wish they would have used more than one camera to shoot the attack on Alexander Hammerstone. The assault was a major storyline for MLW going forward. Yet seeing the attack from the same angle over and over again makes the attack less effective.

Match Results

  • ACH defeated Laredo Kid in a first round match for the Opera Cup tournament.
  • Mads Krugger defeated Ariel Dominguez.
  • Low Ki defeated Davey Boy Smith Jr. in a first round match for the Opera Cup tournament.
