On tonight’s episode of Fusion, Tom Lawlor and ACH battled in a semi round match for the Opera Cup tournament. Additionally, Bu Ku Dao and LA Park Jr. made their debuts against one another. The latest edition of Fusion can be watched below:

Strong Points of the Show

  • I appreciated the character work associated with the opening segment. The physicality aspect of the segment didn’t look great. However, Alexander Hammerstone, Richard Holliday and Alicia Atout were all enjoyable to watch.
  • I am glad that Jordan Oliver has a program with Simon Gotch. This feud hopefully ensures that Oliver will not just be an afterthought while Myron Reed prepares to face Lio Rush.
  • Salina de la Renta’s promo was really well done. The segment was slightly creepy and eerie, which is perfect based on Salina’s character and her current determination to get revenge on MLW.

Weak Points of the Show

  • The finish of the opening contest looked a little sloppy. The pinfall was in place for an awkward amount of time.
  • I thought it was odd that there was no footage shown of the brawling between Hammerstone and Krugger. It was an interesting and unique decision, but it would have been more effective to actually see the two come to blows.
  • I think saving Hammerstone’s in ring return for January 6th helps make the Kings of Colosseum event feel more important. That being said, the previews for tonight’s show said Hammerstone would be returning tonight. So there was a little bit of false advertising.

Match Results

  • Bu Ku Dao defeated LA Park Jr.
  • Mads Krugger defeated Budd Heavy and Daniel Starling.
  • Tom Lawlor defeated ACH in a semi round match for the Opera Cup Tournament.
