The tag team championship were on the line tonight as Los Parks defended their titles against Injustice and CONTRA. Lio Rush also defended his World Middleweight Championship in an open challenge match. Additionally, Parrow went head to head with Mil Muertes. These matches and more can be viewed by watching the video below:

Strong Points of the Show

  • Marshall and Ross Von Erich cut a good promo tonight. I go back and forth regarding their promos and how much I enjoy them. Tonight, both men did a great job of calling out Tom Lawlor and the rest of Team Filthy.
  • Normally, I feel iffy when a match that was advertised in advance gets changed. However, I like that CONTRA was added to tonight’s main event. The addition of CONTRA made the match feel more important and added a bit more story to the match.
  • Despite having difficulty hearing Kruger, I am glad his storyline with Hammerstone is not over. I was really hoping those two would have another match based on the inconclusive ending of the Baklei Brawl. Going forward it seems that we will see those two battle at least one more time.

Weak Points of the Show

  • The brawl that opened the show between Injustice, CONTRA and Los Parks looked a little weak. I loved that there was a different open to this week’s show compared to previous weeks. I just wish there was a little more effort in the actual fighting.
  • I don’t like that Lio Rush wasn’t seen with the AAA Cruiserweight Championship tonight. The absence of that championship makes Lio’s win over Laredo Kid feel less important.
  • I found it odd that Alexander Hammerstone was seemingly okay with Mil Muertes keeping his championship until they have a match. I figured Hammerstone would be more upset with his title being kidnapped. The fact that Alex kind of brushed it off made the angle seem a little less impactful to me.
  • Mads Kruger’s segment was hard to hear. I’m not sure if it was just on my end or not. Ultimately, the audio issues made Kruger’s promo much less effective than it could have been.

Match Results

  • World Middleweight Championship Match: Lio Rush defeated Brian Pillman Jr. via pinfall to retain the World Middleweight Championship.
  • Mil Muertes defeated Parrow via pinfall.
  • Triple Threat Tag Team Championship Match: Los Parks defeated Injustice and CONTRA (Simon Gotch and Daivari) via pinfall to retain the Tag Team Championship.
