After months of supporting my favorite wrestlers from home, I was happy to once again embark on The White Eagle for WWR+ Lets Talk About Wrestling. I attended WWR’s last show where I was introduced to talents like Masha Slamovich, Leyla Hirsch and Terra Calaway. I knew of most of the competitors going into this show but was more excited about those I didn’t know. Questions such as “Who’d stand out most?” and “What match would steal the show?” occupied my mind through traffic and the pain of parking in Downtown Worcester.

Of the competitors that were new to me, Little Mean Kathleen left a big impression. The Massachusetts native has just under two years of experience under her belt and was dealt a tall order against Kaia McKenna. McKenna has been making the rounds since her appearance in GCW’s Fight Forever so a win here would’ve been massive. She managed to weather the storm of McKenna and deliver her brand of energetic offense. Kathleen finished the match with a great looking Fisherman Suplex with a beautiful bridge in undoubtedly her biggest win at this point. As a New Englander, I love seeing new talent in the region’s wrestling scene and look forward to watching her growth.

Across this entire card there were great matches. One such match was the opener between Davienne and Delmi Exo. Both women have been putting on great performances across the pandemic and they’ve added another feather to their respective caps. Becca versus Erica Leigh was something special as they put on an intense bout with a scrunchie hanging in the balance. This goes without saying, but Trish Adora versus Willow Nightingale was the perfect match to headline this women’s card. I implore everyone to go watch these two tear it down in the Main Event as soon as possible.

Overall this show, while entertaining, has an air of importance to it. While we have special shows like Allie Kat’s Real Hot Girl Sh*t which attracts the best in women’s wrestling, WWR+ is a space that mixes the big name with the small on a more regular basis. WWR+ will most definitely become a destination for women’s wrestling and only time will show this statement to be a fact. With an announced June 20th return date set in stone, I look forward to seeing the continued showcase of the scene.
