Back on Thursday, October 7th, MLW aired a one hour special on Vice TV titled Fightland. This televised event was headlined by a colossal title vs. title match between National Openweight Champion Alex Hammerstone and MLW World Heavyweight Champion Jacob Fatu. Additionally, Myron Reed defended his Middleweight Championship against Arez, Aramis and the debuting Tajiri. Notes from the special are listed below:

Tajiri defeated Myron Reed, Aramis, and Arez to win the MLW Middleweight Championship

  • This match featured fast-paced action from all four competitors. Reed, Aramis and Arez all relied on high flying maneuvers while Tajiri utilized strong strikes. Towards the end of the match, Tajiri sprayed green mist into the eyes of Myron. Tajiri then hit Reed with the Buzzsaw Kick to score the victory.

Alexander Hammerstone defeated Jacob Fatu (with Josef Samael) to retain the National Openweight Championship and to win the MLW Heavyweight Championship

  • Jacob Fatu and Alex Hammerstone wasted no time in starting their match by brawling. Jacob pulled out impressive moves throughout the match, including a spike piledriver on the ring apron and a coast to coast. Later on in the match, Hammerstone ended up injuring his left leg while delivering a bicycle kick to Fatu. Despite the injury, Alex and Jacob kept on brawling. Late in the match, Josef Samael hit Alex in the chest with a spike. Fatu then proceeded to moonsault Hammerstone through a table. However, Alex did not go down. The finish saw Hammerstone hit Fatu with a TKO to become a double champion.

  • Mads Kruger and other members of CONTRA attempted to attack Alex Hammerstone prior to title vs. title match. At one point, CONTRA ended up brawling with several members of the MLW roster in a boiler room. As the brawl ensued, Cesar Duran and one of his henchman locked all of the competitors in the room. Duran stated that no one would interrupt his big title fight.
