The latest episode of MLW Alpha Fusion featured King Muertes defending his Caribbean Championship against Tom Lawlor in a casket match. Additionally, Alex Kane (accompanied by King Mo) hosted a Prize Fight Open and challenged anyone to beat him for a cash prize. Members of the women’s featherweight division were also in action as Willow Nightingale and Zoey Skye took on The Sea Stars. MLW Fusion Alpha episode #7 can be viewed by watching the video listed below:

Strong Points of the Show

  • It was interesting how Mads Kruger referred to himself as the leader of CONTRA (a detail that was played up by the announcers as well). It’s a nice follow up to the segment that Duran and Kruger had last week. I feel like that comment by Kruger lays the foundation for future problems between Kruger, Josef Samael and the rest of CONTRA, which would be a great story to see play out.
  • Seeing Warhorse on tonight’s program was great. I love Warhorse’s persona and the energy he has when wrestling. I also appreciated the crowd’s response to Warhorse’s appearance and how receptive the crowd was to Warhorse. Hopefully Warhorse continues to do great things in MLW in the future.
  • I am extremely stoked to see Karlee Perez as King Muertes’ manager. I have been a fan of Karlee since she was in the WWE as Maxine. Karlee is incredibly talented and I have no doubt she will be a great addition to the Azteca Underground storyline.

Weak Points of the Show

  • Something about the way that Konnan mentioned that he was high on weed sounded kind of silly to me. I don’t have a logical reason as to why I disliked that line but I disliked that line nonetheless.
  • Not sure what the purpose of the backstage segment between Richard Holliday, Alicia Atout and Tajiri was. It’s possible that Tajiri and Richard Holliday will face one another in the future. However, the segment came across as a bit random with no real purpose tonight.

Other Highlights

  • 5150 confronted Cesar Duran in the ring to demand a tag team championship match against Los Parks. Los Parks came down ringside, which led to a brawl between 5150 and Los Parks.
  • Following the altercation between 5150 and Los Parks, Tom Lawlor came to the ring and told Duran that he wanted a title fight. Cesar then announced that Tom Lawlor would face King Muertes for the Caribbean Championship in a casket match in the main event.
  • Towards the end of the opening contest, Holidead attacked Willow Nightingale and pulled Nightingale underneath the ring. After the end of the tag team match, Willow was helped to the back by Zoey Skye, The Sea Stars and the referee.
  • A vignette aired for Gnarls Garvin, who will be debuting with MLW in the near future.
  • Alicia Atout announced that Calvin Tankman would not be withdrawing from the Opera Cup Tournament despite last week’s attack by Alex Kane and King Mo.
  • Kevin Ku told Tom Lawlor that he no longer wanted to be a member of Team Filthy. More so, Ku stated that he felt it was time to do his own thing.
  • Alex Hammerstone dismissed the rumors that he was meeting with Cesar Duran to discuss his War Chamber team.
  • Karlee Perez made her MLW Fusion Alpha debut tonight by accompanying King Muertes to the ring for his match against Tom Lawlor.

Match Results

  • The Sea Stars (Ashley Vox and Delmi Exo) defeated Willow Nightingale and Zoey Skye via pinfall.
  • Prize Fight Open: Alex Kane (with King Mo) defeated Warhorse via pinfall.
  • Caribbean Championship Casket Match: King Muertes (with Karlee Perez) defeated Tom Lawlor.

What did you think of tonight’s show? Are you looking forward to MLW’s War Chamber event this Saturday?
