TJP competed against Davey Richards in the finals of the 2021 Opera Cup Tournament on tonight’s Fusion Alpha. In tag team action, the Sea Stars faced Top Dogs. And KC Navarro squared off with Warhorse as a result of their confrontation last week. MLW Fusion Alpha #11 can be watched below:
Strong Points of the Show
- KC Navarro and Warhorse wrestled an entertaining match. Both men got good offense in. More so, the action throughout the contest was smooth and solid.
- Davey Richards and TJP got a great amount of time for their match. The longevity of the main event made the Opera Cup feel that much more important. Plus, Richards and TJP got to put on another clinic, which was awesome to see.
Weak Points of the Show
- I am glad that the Top 10 rankings are no longer a dedicated segment on Fusion. However, I still dislike how MLW features rankings as a header at the bottom of the screen. The rankings never seem to play a major role in storylines (at least since the restart last November).
Other Highlights
- Emilio Sparks confronted Myron Reed and asked if Reed sent Calvin Tankman after Alex Kane last week. Myron avoided the question and stated that he knew what Emilio was up to.
- Los Parks vs. 5150 in a Philly Street Fight for the MLW Tag Team Championship was announced for next week’s broadcast. Also, Alex Hammerstone was announced for in-ring competition next week against an unknown opponent. Additionally, nZo makes his MLW debut next week against Matt Cross.
- Willow Nightingale was on commentary for the tag team match between Top Dogs and Sea Stars. After the tag team match ended, Holidead came down to ringside. Holidead and Willow brawled to the backstage area.
- Alex Kane hosted a press conference with Mr. Thomas. Kane promoted his new Bomaye Fight Club and vowed to hurt his future opponents.
- Throughout the show, Emilio Sparks followed Cesar Duran around. Duran used a key and opened a mysterious door, but the contents behind the door were left unseen.
