I’ll be taking a look at some free matches uploaded to YouTube in the past week or two. There’s been some great matches uploaded, some might even consider them to be some of the best of the year. The included matches are from promotions such as Beyond Wrestling, DEFY Wrestling, Game Changer Wrestling, and others. Let’s take a look at them.

Alex Shelley vs. Daniel Garcia – Beyond Wrestling Uncharted Territory Season 3 Episode 1 10/7/21
Beyond Wrestling has been releasing some gems lately for free on YouTube. If you’re looking for a 20 min plus wrestling clinic with two of the best technical wrestlers out there, this match is for you. A packed house at White Eagle for the Uncharted Territory Season 3 premiere. This took place before Alex Shelley became IWTV Independent Wrestling World Champion and before Daniel Garcia was wrestling guys like CM Punk and Eddie Kingston on a weekly basis. 4.25/5
Nick Wayne vs. Joey Janela – DEFY Brutalist 11/20/21
In match that received much acclaim across the board and had many saying it was a match of the year candidate, Joey Janela takes on Nick Wayne at Washington Hall in Seattle. Janela takes on the 16 year old son of the late Buddy Wayne, in a match that Janela himself asked for. The 15 year veteran and the upcomer deliver a 33 minute classic that will be on many year ending lists. Some of the spots in this match are completely insane and the selling from a young talent like Wayne is top notch. Great match with some great story telling. 4.5/5
EFFY vs. Matt Cardona (Internet Championship vs. GCW Career) – GCW Fight Club 10/9/21
Jon Moxley vs. Nick Gage wasn’t the only high stakes match at GCW Fight Club. A packed house at The Showboat in Atlantic City witnessed Matt Cardona put his GCW career on the line against Effy’s Internet Championship. The feud between the two is one of the best independent wrestling feuds of the year. The feud continues going into GCW Blood On The Hills where Matt Cardona and Chelsea Green is set to take on BUSSY. 3.5/5
Arik Royal vs. Daniel Makabe – 2021 Scenic City Invitational Tournament Night Two 8/7/21
Daniel Makabe vs. Arik Royal II, the sequel to a match that took place over Mania weekend. The first meeting between the two was a long time in the making and became one of the best matches over that weekend. With the second bout taking place at night two of the 2021 Scenic City Invitational Tournament, this one is shorter than the first bout but was just as great, if not better. Makabe goes through this match with a bad laceration in the back of his head. A bloody mess. Part 3 of this series takes place this weekend at ACTION Wrestling’s Bangers Only 2. 3.75/5
Gary Jay vs. Jeremy Wyatt (Gateway Heritage Championship Match) – St. Louis Anarchy Mega Ticket 11/20/21
Jeremy Wyatt is going into this match as the reigning Gateway Heritage Champion for 1,142 days. This will be his 40th defense of the title. As the Gateway Heritage Champion, Wyatt is able to choose the stipulation of his title defenses. Usually his matches are contested under Pure Rules, but this title match against Gary Jay is a No Rules, No Time Limit Match. The matchup has non stop action from the start and becomes a bloody war. 3.5/5
