The current Ring of Honor World Champion and PROGRESS World Champion Jonathan Gresham has pulled off of this weekend’s PROGRESS events due to injury. In a video tweeted out by PROGRESS Wrestling, Gresham states that he’s unable to make the trip to the UK due to not being medically cleared to compete.

Gresham was originally scheduled to defend the PROGRESS World Championship against Chris Ridgeway at Chapter 132 on April 17th. This would’ve been his third defense of the title. The following night on April 18th, Gresham was set to face Gene Munny in a non-title match at Chapter 133. Replacements for both these events will be announced. PROGRESS states that Gresham will return to action at Chapter 134 on Sunday May 15th.

Gresham last competed at AEW’s Battle of the Belts 2, where he defended the ROH World Championship against Dalton Castle. The event aired on April 16th but was taped on April 15th. It is unclear of the severity of the injury or if it’s storyline related due to the attack from Satnam Singh and Jay Lethal following his match against Castle. We wish Gresham a speedy recovery.
