The official Twitter account of Women’s Wrestling Army has released an official Press Release, detailing more about the promotion. WWA, headed by Maria Kanellis-Bennett & Ring of Honor ring announcer Bobby Cruise, will launch with their debut event on May 1st. The roster will be comprised of both up and comers and known names in the world of women’s wrestling.

Along with events, WWA will also be releasing a stream of original content. These will of course include shows with original matchups, interviews and behind the scenes footage. WWA will also be releasing a string of documentaries, loosely based off of the ROH documentary, This is Women’s Wrestling!

Biggest of all are two factors: collaboration and compensation. With WWR+ partnering with the promotion for their debut, the company is not looking to stop at just one collaboration. According to Bobby Cruise, the company is looking to keep the door open for collaboration to further women’s wrestling. As for compensation, WWA’s roster will “own a part of the company and receive residual income for every appearance.” This is certainly a huge step in the way of how wrestlers are paid.

You can purchase your tickets for WWA’s debut right now and follow WWA on Twitter for updates.
