ECWA 05/07/2022 Results

This past Saturday night in Morganville NJ, ECWA returned with a history making event!

Matt Vertigo defeated Raymond Shaw
It was a Pure Rules match for the Territory championship, which now means Vertigo has been reigning as champion for over a year. The two brawled forcing the official to order a double DQ and a NO DQ rematch was announced for May 21st in Morganville NJ.

Sweet Reginald defeated Mr Ooh Lala – Loser leaves ECWA for 30 days
After repeated interference from the Marvelous Ones, and help from a loaded shoe at ringside, Sweet Reginald was able to take down Mr Ooh Lala which means Ooh Lala will miss Marvelous May-the Marvelous Ones funded event-on May 21st.

The Marvelous Ones retained the ECWA Tag Team championship against Abs Armstrong and J-George in an over the top rope rules match.
The team of Greg Spitz and Teddy Fine are well on their quest to become the longest reigning ECWA Tag Team champions in history as they approach the 600 day mark. J-George turned on his partner Abs Armstrong and then choked him out after the match. The former partners will meet inside the ring on May 21st!

Joey Ace retained the ECWA championship against Killian McMurphy w/ Big Dust in a Falls Count Somewhere match.
Pins or submissions would only occur in one spot in the arena, and only the official, John Finegan knew where that location was. Big Dust chased Joey Ace out of the arena only for Sam Shields to chase Dust off. After both men tore up the venue causing $687 in damage, it was discovered the falls could only occur INSIDE the ring. After finding that out both men frantically threw the kitchen sink at one another with Joey Ace finally winning the match.

Erica Leigh won the ECWA Legacy title against Travis Lee and Joey Martinez in a Candyland Death Match
Joey Martinez made his ECWA return after seeing what was happening to the Legacy title, however it wasn’t the return he expected. Erica best both men on her trailblazing quest to dominate ECWA, and left the Candyland death match as the new Legacy champion.

Clutch Rockwell retained the WORLD-1 title against “Colossal” Mike Law in a chain match
The crimson mask was flowing as Clutch Rockwell was beat down by Mike Law. Once again Sam Shields made his presence known, but just like last time, no one is quite sure where he stands. Is he trying to help or hurt his former partner Clutch Rockwell? In the end Rockwell retained the gold. As he celebrated, the Marvelous Ones hit the ring and knocked him out only for Joey Ace, of all people, to make the save. Next month at Marvelous May, Clutch Rockwell and Joey Ace will team up for the first time ever as they take on the ECWA Tag Team champions, the Marvelous Ones.

Other notes:
Gabby Ortiz vacated the Women’s championship. In light of that news and after Erica Leigh’s performance in both the Super 8 and after capturing the Legacy title (the first female to ever challenge/win the gold) it was determined that there are no gender barriers in ECWA as it relates to championships!
