Last night, Jordan Oliver competed in and won the Jersey J-Cup tournament. Oliver outlasted 19 other competitors to not only capture the Jersey J-Cup trophy but to become the new Jersey Championship Wrestling Champion.

The day started with Session One of the returning J-Cup live from the White Eagle Hall in Jersey City, New Jersey. Session One took place at 2pm with Jordan Oliver competing in the opening match against one half of the Impact Tag Team Champions and NJPW STRONG Tag Team Champions, Alex Shelley. Oliver rolled over Alex Shelley with a small package pin and getting the three count in what many might consider an upset victory.

Later on in the evening, GCW and JCW hosted the second part of the tournament with Session Two. Oliver’s night was to become more grueling, as he wrestled in three more matches before winning the trophy. In Oliver’s second round match he took on the vicious Charles Mason. He gained the victory after hitting Mason with the Clout Cutter, as he advances to the Semi-Finals.

In his Semi-Finals matchup he shared the ring with “The Bad Boy” Joey Janela. The two of them went to war, competing for nearly 30 minutes for the spot in the finals of the tournament. After a long, exhausting match between the two, Oliver was able to pick up the pinfall after hitting Janela with his signature Clout Cutter.

Now on to the finals where Oliver was met with the difficult task of trying to defeat “Speedball” Mike Bailey. The two finalists had a competitive back and forth match until the end, when Oliver hit the Clout Cutter following by a huge sit-down powerbomb. Oliver pinned Bailey and got the three count to win the match.

Following the match, Nick Gage entered the ring to hand off the Jersey J-Cup trophy and JCW Championship to the victory. He mentioned how proud he was of Jordan before giving him the trophy and championship belt.
