Wrestling Revolver will be presenting the first Women’s Grand Prix on Sunday, October 8 at 3pm in Dayton, Ohio. The event will stream live on FITE+.

The show will be hosted by Renee Paquette and will feature an 8-women tournament featuring some of the brightest up and coming stars along with some veterans. To win this tournament you will need to win 3 matches in the same day and none of these matches will be easy. I will highlight the first round matches.

Billie Starkz vs Rachel Armstrong

This could be a show stealing match. While Billie has been busy on ROH television and AEW PPVs, Rachel has been climbing the ranks of independent wrestling, becoming one of the breakout stars of 2023. Rachel has drawn many comparisons to Billie, as they are both from Indiana and started wrestling at such a young age.

Both women will look to finish this match from the air, Billie with her swanton and Rachel with her amazing 450 splash. Billie may be one of the favorites in this tournament, but do not count Rachel out, as she has surprised before, winning this year’s ACTION Futures tournament.

Emi Sakura vs Trish Adora

This match should be a very hard-hitting affair. Emi Sakura is one of the most decorated Joshi wrestlers. Trish Adora has been part of The Infantry with Shawn Dean and Charlie Bravo in Ring of Honor. Emi may be a newer face to US wrestling fans, but she has been wrestling since 1995. Emi has had many title reigns throughout her career and is still collecting titles, as she is currently the Deadlock Pro Women’s Champion and the Super Asia Champion at Gatoh Move.

The US Army Veteran, Trish Adora, will not be intimidated by Emi. Trish is very adept on the mat and with her striking and will look to get the victory with her vicious Lariat Tubman.

Vert Vixen vs Allysin Kay

Allysin Kay is one of the most accomplished women’s wrestlers in America. She has been wrestling since 2009 and has won championships in IMPACT, AIW, NWA and many other places.

Vert Vixen started wrestling about a decade later, but has seen much success in her 4 years in the ring. Vert has just come off an appearance on AEW Collision and is currently the New Texas Pro and DEFY women’s champions. Both wrestlers are very powerful, so it may come down to AK trying to use some of those tricks that she has learned throughout the years.

Marina Shafir vs Janai Kai

This match will be very brutal and could end quickly, as both wrestlers have knockout power with their strikes and can lock in a submission at any moment. Marina Shafir may be considered the favorite in this tournament as she has yet to be beaten in Wrestling Revolver. The former MMA fighter, Shafir, has ran through every opponent that she has come across in Revolver in quite dominating fashion, including fellow tournament participants Billie Starkz and Rachel Armstrong, along with IMPACT Superstar, JesSICKa.

Janai Kai is going to have a very tough task ahead of her, as she will try to be the first person to defeat Shafir in Wrestling Revolver. Kai may currently have the most confidence of her career, coming off a recent trip to Japan. She has also won a grueling tournament before, defeating Jordan Blade, Ray Lyn and Masha Slamovich in the CFU Shoot to Thrill Tournament.

In non-tournament action you will see Jordynne Grace and Killer Kelly team up to take on the Killer Death Machines, JesSICKa and Nevaeh. The Killer Death Machines will have the familiarity advantage, but Killer Kelly became the IMPACT Women’s Tag champion after only a few matches with Masha and Jordynne is also a former IMPACT Women’s Tag champion, so this should really be a great match.

Also, just added to the card is Zoey Skye against Jamie Senegal. Jamie will be making her Wrestling Revolver debut and will be looking to impress against the always phenomenal Ohio veteran.

There will also be another show from Wrestling Revolver later that evening called “Revolver Redemption” which will include Zoey Skye vs Ace Romero, The Death Dollz and Jordynne Grace against the Rascalz, Jon Moxley vs Gingo Loco and much more. You can find the preview for that show here: Wrestling Revolver: REVOLVER Redemption Preview

I have watched wrestling all of my life, from WWF and NWA to ECW and then indie shows. I have been steadily going to independent wrestling shows since 2002.
