On Friday, March 15th, Chaotic Wrestling held its biggest event of the year, Cold Fury 22. The show streamed live on the Chaotic Wrestling Twitch channel.

This show saw a ton of big matches and even bigger moments. It was headlined by a huge match between former friends and tag team partners, JT Dunn and Danny Miles for the top prize in the sport, the Chaotic Wrestling Heavyweight Championship. We also saw Che Long put his New England Championship on the line against Shannon LeVangie in a Tables, Doors, Ladders, and Chairs match, but that’s not all. Ace Austin squared off with Ricky Smokes, Paris Van Dale put her Pan-Optic Championship on the line against Gabby Forza, Mortar faced Richard Holliday, and so much more. Check out the full recap and review below.

Mortar vs. Richard Holliday

Winner: Mortar

In the night’s opening contest, we saw Mortar square off with Richard Holliday in a very personal match. Holliday is truly back to doing what he does best, being one of the greatest heels Chaotic has ever seen. This was a very highly anticipated match from the get-go, and Mortar looked to get revenge for Holliday’s vicious attack a few months back. Mortar landed a huge cross-body over the top rope on Holliday before the bell rang. The two then brawled in the crowd with Mortar continuing on the upper hand when the match spilled back over to ringside. When the match officially started, Mortar continued on the attack, landing a big moonsault for just a two-count.

As Mortar looked for his discus lariat, Holliday rolled to the outside and tried to back up on the entranceway. He comes face-to-face with one of Mortar’s buddies who stops him in his tracks. However, Holliday changes the tides in this match when he dumps Mortar back first over the top rope and onto the apron before crashing to the floor. Mortar lands a suicida tope on Holliday and changes the match back in his favor. As Mortar goes for another high-risk move, Holliday meets him at the top and lands a superplex for just a two-count. Holliday continues on the attack and stops Mortar in his tracks whenever Mortar looks for an opening.

Holliday causes Mortar to take out his friend with a baseball slide to the outside. From there, Holliday lands a low blow before driving Mortar face-first to the mat for a two-count. Thanks to help from his friend, Mortar quickly gets back into this match. Mortar lands a hurricanrana from the top rope and follows this up with an F-55 to give him the win. This was an excellent opening contest and one of my favorite matches of the night. Holliday and Mortar continue to make magic together, and this match certainly showed that. Both of these men have very bright futures in Chaotic Wrestling, and the professional wrestling world as a whole.

Chaotic Wrestling Tag Team Championship Match: God’s Greatest Creations (c) vs. Trigga The OG and Ace Romero

Winners: AND STILL Chaotic Wrestling Tag Team Champions, God’s Greatest Creations

In the second match of the night, we were supposed to see God’s Greatest Creations defend their Chaotic Wrestling Tag Team Championships against Waves and Curls. Unfortunately, Waves and Curls could not be medically cleared in time to compete. While this was a match we were all looking forward to, this led to another treat for the Chaotic Wrestling faithful. Trigga The OG makes his way down to the ring and tells GGC that he is no stranger to tag team gold. He says he can take both members of GGC. Trigga goes on to say that there’s nobody in the back big enough to stand with him, and this draws out Ace Romero. This leads to Trigga and Romero teaming up to take on the GGC for the titles.

Trigga and Brother Steven start the match for their respective teams. They get things started with a collar-elbow tie-up, followed by some chain wrestling. Brother Steven quickly tags in Deacon Kayos and he squares off with Trigga. Trigga quickly gains the upper hand on Deacon Kayos and tags in Romero.  Trigga and Romero show that they can work very well as a team, despite everything they’ve been through. Romero toys with Deacon Kayos and quickly gains the upper hand. Trigga and Romero do a great job at cutting the ring in half and keeping Deacon Kayos on their side, but Kayos counters when Trigga gets tagged back in and sends him crashing to the GGC corner. A double-team move changes the tides of this match as GGC remains in control of Trigga for a good portion of the match.

Jariel Rivera makes his way down to ringside to scout his team, God’s Greatest Creations. This accidentally distracts Deacon Kayos, which leads to Trigga sending Kayos crashing and burning to the mat from the top rope. Trigga lands a huge leg drop from the top rope and tags in Romero, while Kayos tags in Steven. Romero takes out both members of the GGC, before landing a tope suicida on the GGC on the outside. As Steven tries to have some fun on a pogo stick, Rivera gets in his face to try and talk some sense into him. This leads to Steven kicking Rivera away from him. Miscommunication causes Romero to accidentally land a pounce on Trigga. Rivera enters the ring and knocks out Trigga with a chain before leaving, leading to Brother Steven gaining the pinfall and the victory for the GGC.

Ricky Smokes vs. Ace Austin

Winner: Ricky Smokes

In the next match, we see Ace Austin make his return to Chaotic Wrestling to take on one of the top stars at Chaotic today, Ricky Smokes. This was another very highly anticipated match on the night. Austin and Smokes is a dream match for many, myself included, so to see them go at it was a true treat. After both men make their entrance, we get some chain wrestling to start the match off. With neither man able to gain the upper hand, both men regroup in their corners before trying again. Austin lands a low dropkick on the left kneecap of Smokes to gain some control of the match.

However, Smokes rolls to the apron to regroup and hangs Austin up over the top rope. He then lands a spear from the apron to Austin on the inside of the ring and now is in firm control of this match. Austin catches Smokes’ leg through the middle rope on the apron and targets it to get back into this match. Austin follows this up with another low dropkick and a huge roundhouse kick from the middle rope for just a two-count. He then follows this up by locking in a figure-four leg lock on Smokes to attempt to get him to tap out. However, Smokes reaches the ropes to force the break.

Ultimately, after some more fun back-and-forth, Smokes lands a small package pinfall on Austin to win the match. Austin is truly one of the top wrestlers around today, and it’s genuinely not even close. There are truly not enough good things to be said about Smokes. Despite being one of the greatest heels Chaotic has ever seen, the talent he has to back it all up is insane. He is cocky, brash, and about as hard-hitting as it gets. Even though he’s still young, the future of Smokes in the professional wrestling business is beyond bright.

Tables, Doors, Ladders, and Chairs Match for the Chaotic Wrestling New England Championship: Che Long (c) vs. Shannon LeVangie

Winner: AND NEW Chaotic Wrestling New England Champion, Shannon LeVangie

The second championship match of the night saw Che Long put his Chaotic Wrestling New England Championship on the line against Shannon LeVangie. This was one of the most anticipated Cold Fury matches in the history of Chaotic Wrestling. In this match, LeVangie looks to become the first woman to ever hold the New England Championship. The rise LeVangie has been on has been nothing short of amazing. She went from being the ultimate underdog to a main eventer in about a year, quickly winning over the hearts of the Chaotic faithful. Long, on the other hand, has been on a hell of a run in his own right. The potential Long has is bar none, and his future is very bright in his own right.

Long comes down to the ring with a chair in hand, ready to fight from the onset. As he goes for a swing, LeVangie ducks and takes him out with a tope suicida from the middle rope. LeVangie beats up on Long at ringside as the fans chant her on. She traps Long in the corner where the guardrails meet with a chair and lands two big running dropkicks on Long. LeVange tries to pull a ladder into the ring, but Long lands a seesaw on the face of LeVangie with the ladder to change the tides of this match-up. Long slingshots LeVangie into a ladder set up in the corner and is in firm control of this match now. Long tricks the fans by pretending to take out a table, only to shove it back under the ring and say no.

However, Long gets a chair and a door involved. Long drops LeVangie back first on a ladder and continues to control this match. LeVangie fights back into this match, landing a drop-toe hold on Long onto a chair. LeVangie goes high risk and lands a meteora from the ladder onto Long who’s seated on a chair. As LeVangie attempts a tope suicida, Long lands a brutal chair shot to the head of LeVangie stopping her in her tracks. Finally, Long takes out a table to set up at ringside. However, LeVangie drops Long headfirst on the apron when he tries to throw her through the table. LeVangie gets a bigger ladder to set up and tries to climb, but Long sends another ladder into the gut of LeVangie sending her crashing and burning down to the mat.

As Long makes his way up, LeVangie catches him and hits a missile dropkick onto Long who’s seated on a ladder. Long hits a crossbody on LeVangie from a ladder that’s conveniently placed inside an even bigger ladder, that sends them both crashing through a door. LeVangie hits Long with one-half of the door to stop him from trying to grab the title belt. Long gets another door into the ring and sets it up with two chairs at either end. LeVangie lands a “twisted bliss” through Long who’s placed on the door, and even more carnage can be seen now in the ring. As LeVangie tries to climb up again, Long lands chair shots to get her to fall, and saves his title for now. LeVangie sends Long through a chair in the corner, before setting up another table at ringside.

LeVangie goes for a suplex on Long through a table at ringside, but Long counters hitting his finishing move from the top rope and crashing through a table on the floor. Long sets up another table in the ring and climbs the ladder while holding LeVangie’s hair and forcing her to watch. LeVangie hits a low blow on Long and sends him crashing through the table. This leads to LeVangie winning the match and taking the title. This was the match of the night by far. Long and LeVangie both crushed this match, and it’s a must-watch for anyone. LeVangie is the new New England Champion, and the first-ever female to hold that title.

Chaotic Wrestling Pan Optic Championship Match: Paris Van Dale (c) vs. Gabby Forza

Winner: AND STILL Chaotic Wrestling Pan Optic Champion, Paris Van Dale

In the first match back from intermission, we see Paris Van Dale put her Chaotic Wrestling Pan Optic Championship on the line against Gabby Forza. Forza has been on a massive run in the early going of her career, and she looks to win her first-ever championship at Cold Fury 22. Van Dale and Forza’s rivalry has been a lot of fun to watch. They are both stars in their own right, and even though she’s still so young in her career, Forza has been making a massive name for herself already. The fans are firmly behind Forza in this match, as she has quickly won the hearts of the Chaotic faithful.

The match starts with a feeling-out process of sorts. Van Dale sees Forza’s power early on with a spinning slam from Forza. Forza follows this up with a flapjack for just a two-count. Forza charges at Van Dale in the corner but goes shoulder-first into the ring post. This allows Van Dale to gain the upper hand in this match. Van Dale charges at Forza in the corner, back first, and uses some of her unique offense to continue to control the match. Van Dale attempts a suplex, but Forza counters with one of her own to change the tides of this match.

Forza fires up and takes Van Dale down with a couple of clotheslines. She lands a rolling spear in the corner and a massive powerslam for just a two-count. Forza lands a huge spear on Van Dale, but Van Dale rolls to the outside to avoid the pinfall. Forza then follows this up with a spinebuster on the apron. When the match spills back into the ring, Forza pins Van Dale for just a two-count. Ultimately, Van Dale sprays something into the eyes of Forza, which causes Forza to hit a jackhammer on the ref. Forza pins the ref as Van Dale counts to three. However, Van Dale hits her finisher on Forza and pins her to win the match during all the confusion. This was a very fun title defense and both women have very bright futures in Chaotic and beyond.

Catch and Release vs. New England Royalty

Winners: Catch and Release

In the next contest, we see New England Royalty (BMT and Ariel) take on Catch and Release (Seabass Finn and Sean Vegan Keegan). The match starts quickly as Seabass and BMT go at it to start things off for their respective teams. Keegan tags in and continues to keep things going in Catch and Release’s favor. Thanks to a distraction from Airel, BMT hits a backstabber on Seabass to change the tides of this match.

When Ariel tags in, the two continue to remain in control. Ariel lands a low blow on Seabass with the referee not seeing it. After some more fun back-and-forth, Keegan and Ariel make their way to the back with Keegan trying to catch Ariel. This leads to Seabass ultimately pinning BMT, countering BMT’s submission hold with a pinfall. After the match, BMT attacks Seabass from behind, and Ariel comes out to join in. BMT cuts some of Seabass’s mullet off before Keegan finally makes the save. This has been a very fun rivalry and I can’t wait to see what’s next for these two teams.

Chaotic Wrestling Heavyweight Championship Match: JT Dunn vs. Danny Miles

Winner: AND NEW Chaotic Wrestling Heavyweight Champion, Danny Miles

In the main event of Cold Fury 22, we saw JT Dunn and Danny Miles go at it for the unclaimed Chaotic Wrestling Heavyweight Championship. This is a match that could very well be years in the making. Miles and Dunn have been to hell and back together. From the beginning of The Unit to all the wars they have been in both on the same side and opposite sides, their stories have intertwined. Both Dunn and Miles pinned Rourke at the same time to win the title at the same time. Tonight’s match was truly for all the marbles and to find out who the rightful champion is. Miles looks fired up during his entrance and ready to go. The same can of course be said for “The Savior of Professional Wrestling,” JT Dunn.

Perhaps one of the more interesting aspects of this match is Trigga The OG is the special guest enforcer at ringside. The match starts with a collar-elbow tie-up between the two men. We get a clean break and each man goes back to their corner to regroup. In the second lock-up, Dunn gets a headlock in before Miles drops him with a shoulder tackle. This forced Dunn to head back to his corner and regroup as well. However, now Dunn gained the upper hand sending Miles back to regroup this time. We see more of a feeling-out process of sorts in the beginning.

Miles tries to trick Dunn by hiding under the ring, but it doesn’t work as Dunn outsmarts Miles and sends him packing to the outside. However, Miles drops Dunn face-first onto the apron and lands a huge springboard moonsault on Dunn to the outside. Miles and Dunn brawl in the ringside area, with both men getting their shots in. When the match finally spills over into the ring, Dunn lands a pinfall for a very quick kickout. Miles sends Dunn crashing into the corner and hits a spinning sit-out powerslam for a quick kick out from Dunn. Miles remains in control from this point onwards.

Dunn tries to fight back with right-hand strikes from the apron, but Miles scoops the legs of Dunn and sends him crashing down on the apron and to the floor. Miles lands a belly-to-back suplex on Dunn onto the apron, continuing to target the back of Dunn. Miles lands a rope-assisted spinebuster for just a two-count. This upsets Danny as he thought it should have been three. Dunn fights back with an atomic drop and a huge lariat. He follows this up with a spinning fisherman but just gets a two-count on Miles. Dunn tries for his finisher, but Miles counters and tries to hit a chaos theory of his own. After a bunch of reversals, Miles lands a wheelbarrel German suplex. Miles charges at Dunn in the corner but gets met with a double boot stomp.

Dunn accidentally lands a kick to the face of the referee. This leads to Miles hitting a chaos theory on Dunn. He had him beat here, but there was no referee to count the three. Miles is irate and calls for a chair. Rich Palladino says no and takes his chair back. Dunn hits Miles with a tope suicida and takes out Miles. Dunn orders everyone to move out of the way, and he puts Miles over the guardrail. Then, Dunn takes his shot but Miles moves out of the way and Dunn crashes ribs first into the railing. Miles attempts a German suplex from the apron to the floor, but it doesn’t work. He then attempts a powerbomb, but Dunn lands a double stomp on Miles onto the apron.

Dunn follows this up with a facebuster and a rolling cutter onto Miles in the ring. This time, Dunn has the match won but there is no referee to count the three. Dunn attempts a big move, but Miles counters with a huge uppercut and a running cannonball onto Dunn in the corner. Miles lands a huge double knee to the gut move but Dunn kicks out. Then, Miles locks in his submission hold, but Dunn gets out of it by backing them both up into the corner, taking out the referee in the process. Miles makes his way up top and looks to go high-risk, but Dunn meets him up there. Dunn lands a superplex onto Miles from the top rope and both men are spent at this point.

Chase Del Monte comes down to the ring with a chair. He sends a door into the ring and pushes Trigga. Trigga takes his shirt off revealing a referee shirt. Del Monte and Trigga get into it and this leads to Mike Verna making his return. Verna extends a hand to Del Monte but tries to hit him. Del Monte ducks and Verna reverses. After a few reversals by both men, Verna lands a Superman punch on Del Monte and takes him to the back. Miles sets up a door in the corner and picks up a steel chair. The lights go out and Ace Romero is standing behind Miles when they come back on.

Romero tries to take the fight to Miles, but Miles lands a huge chair shot to the head of the big man. Miles spears both Dunn and Trigga through the door set up in the corner. When both men get their bearings back, they land their best strikes on each other, finally ending when Miles takes Dunn down with a massive clothesline. After more back-and-forth, ultimately, Miles puts Dunn away with his chokehold. After the match, Miles takes out Trigga with a pop-up powerbomb, leaving everyone lying.

This was a statement win for Miles. This was one of the greatest matches I have ever witnessed personally. Both of these men showed up and showed out. It’s no secret that Dunn is insanely good, but Miles more than deserved this moment as he has shown why he earned that championship. The run Miles has been on has been nothing short of special. He has shown why he is the true “Dream Crusher,” and the future of Chaotic is going to be a lot of fun with Miles at the top of the mountain.
