SHP “Can’t Rain All The Time” Recap and Review

Sean Henderson Presents (SHP) hosted “It Can’t Rain All The Time” on Friday, August 30 at “The Mecca” in Ridgefield Park, NJ. It featured a relaxed rules match between Kasey Catal and Colby Corino and was main evented by former AEW and AAA star Jack Evans and “The Death Match Prince” Broski Jimmy Lloyd.

Brayden Toon vs Conor Claxton

The opening match is between two big men, who hit very hard. Conor gets the first big blow, whenever he hits Toon with a huge discus lariat. Toon hit a swanton, but he was too close to the ropes for the pin and Conor grabbed the ropes. Toon then hits a backfist and moonsault, but Conor counters into a submission for the win.

Winner: Conor Claxton

Austin Luke vs Haddy for the ISW Falls Count Anywhere Championship

Jeff Cannonball comes to the ring and relinquishes the ISW Falls Count Anywhere Championship. Haddy comes to the ring and kicks Cannonball in the balls and put in a submission hold on him, but Austin Luke runs to the ring and makes the save. This leads to Austin Luke against Haddy for the Falls Count Anywhere Championship.

Both men go to the outside of the ring and Haddy works over Luke’s arm, then brings him back in the ring to lock in a submission. Haddy hits Luke with a Falcon Arrow and transitioned it to an arm bar. However, Austin Luke is then able to lock Haddy in a submission in the ropes and forces him to tap out.

Winner and new ISW Falls Count Anywhere Championship: Austin Luke

Tarzan Duran vs Charlie Tiger

This match is a lot quicker pace than the prior two matches. Neither of these wrestlers are small, but they can move really well, as well as lay in heavy shots to their opponent. Tarzan has a REALLY BIG stick with him. He grabs it and walked across the ropes, using the stick for balance, then hit Tiger with a flipping senton. Charlie answers by hitting Tarzan with a headbutt for the win.

Tarzan was making his SHP debut and I would like to see him back, as he is very unorthodox and adds something unique to the show.

Winner: Charlie Tiger

Gabriel Skye and Brandon Kirk vs The Production (Derek Dillinger and Katie Arquette)

Kirk and Skye joined forces recently in ETU and make for a very formidable and bitter team. While The Production has been teaming together for a while now in AIW and other places.

The match is pretty even until Katie hits a suplex and The Production hit a double team move. It looks like The Production are going to pick up the win, but Brandon pulls the ref out of the ring. While the ref is distracted, Skye hits Derek in the crotch and rolls him up for the win

Winners: Gabriel Skye and Brandon Kirk

Relaxed Rules Match: Colby Corino vs Kasey Catal

This was possibly the most anticipated match of the event and it did not disappoint. Colby out wrestles Kasey to start the match, but Kasey chases Colby to the outside and she takes control. Kasey brings a pile of weapons in the ring and spills Legos in the ring, but she is the one that gets dropped on them.

Kasey hits a side slam, dropping Colby onto the plastic container that shatters, sending shards everywhere. She then gets thumbtacks and slams Colby on them. Kasey goes for a 187 off the ropes, but Colby moves. Colby hits a spinning bomb, but Kasey kicks out. He slams Kasey on chairs that are set up upside down, but Kasey kicks out.

Kasey hits a poison rana and a rana DDT, but Colby kicks out. Colby throws Kasey into chairs that are set up back to back. He puts a razor board on Kasey and comes off the top rope, but Kasey turns the board around and Colby lands on the razors. Kasey then hits Colby with a DDT onto the razor board, but Colby kicks out.

Out of nowhere Colby hits Kasey with firecrackers, but Kasey rolls him up for the win. After the match Colby attacks Kasey and the ref. Brandon Kirk comes out to assist his wife, but Colby takes him out. Sean Henderson runs out with a 2×4 and Colby escapes the ring and the building.

This was my favorite match of the show. It was brutal and still told a good story. It appears that they are ramping up for Colby vs Sean.

Winner: Kasey Catal

Life Match: Stan Stylez vs Billy Avery

After intermission we come back with a “Life Match” between Stan Stylez and Billy Avery. No one was quite sure what a “Life Match” was, other than the obvious, it was the opposite of a death match.

This match was very hard to follow. Styles used his signature Shake Weight and whipped cream. They then sat down on chairs like they were going to have a bar fight, but instead fed each other candy. Then they have a slow motion sequence. Billy breaks the slo-mo with a Whipped Cream Stunner on Stan. Stan then grabs a sword and “stabs” Billy with it. The “Life Match” apparently ends with the death of Billy Avery

Winner: Stan Styles

IWTV Tag Team Championship Match: Fresh Air (c) vs Lucky 13 and Big Red Ryan Renfield (replacing Eric Dillinger)

This is Fresh Air’s first title defense. Lucky 13’s original partner Eric Dillinger could not make the event, so his replacement was Big Red Ryan Renfield. Lucky is a long time veteran and Big Red is a newer wrestler out of the H2O Wrestling School. Fresh Air have the champions advantage and the advantage of working as a team regularly.

The teams test each other out early and the teams remain pretty even, until Lucky and Big Red get the advantage and isolate one of the members of Fresh Air. The other member of Fresh Air finally gets the tag and comes in like a house of fire, until he misses off the ropes, runs into a forearm from Lucky and a super kick assisted suplex from Red.

Lucky hits a Trapper Keeper, but the pin was broken up. Fresh Air gets the numbers advantage and quickly takes advantage with a flurry of moves followed by an assisted cutter (Air Freshener) for the win.

This was a very good match, especially from Lucky 13 and Ryan Renfield, who had not tagged before to my knowledge.

Winner and still IWTV Tag Team Champions: Fresh Air

Ultra-Violent Three Way Match: Rob Shit vs Marc Angel vs LowLife Louie

This is a match between 3 death match veterans. It is your typical deathmatch with a few big spots. Angel stabs Louie with a fork. Angel then gives Shit a cutter onto a board of sliced cans, that looked very painful. Shit gets the win with an elbow drop off the ropes.

Winner: Rob Shit

Broski Jimmy Lloyd vs Jack Evans

Jack uses his speed and athleticism to his advantage early, but it back fires as Jimmy moves from the corner as Jack is flipping towards him and Jack flips himself onto the floor. Jimmy takes advantage on the outside of the ring. Evans does a moonsault press off of the stage onto Jimmy on the floor, he then hits a spinning springboard kick when they get back in the ring. Jimmy briefly takes advantage, then Jack hits a DDT off the ropes.

Jack hits a Sasuke Special to the outside onto Jimmy and goes to the top rope, but Jimmy pushes the ref into the ropes. Jimmy hits Jack with an awful waffle, but only gets a two count. A 450 from Evans, only gets a two on Jimmy. Jimmy distracts the ref and hits Jack with a low blow. He then hits Radio Silence for the win.

This was a fun match to close the show. Jack did all the moves that you want to see from him, and Jimmy Lloyd continued to use his annoying attitude that he has gotten from being around Matt Cardona.

Winner: Broski Jimmy Lloyd

This event aired live on IWTV and the replay should be available soon. I would really recommend watching the Kasey vs Colby match. The tag team title match and main event were also really fun too.
