West Coast Pro Wrestling “Friday The 13th” Recap and Review

West Coast Pro presented “Friday the 13th” on September 13, 2024 at The Foundry in San Francisco. It streamed live on their YouTube channel.

The event featured a lot of new faces, the return of Creature Feature to challenge for the WCP Tag Team titles, and an incredible match between Title Alexander and Man Like DeReiss.

Jaguar Montya def Abigail Warren

Jaguar shows off his unique offense early, and Abigail demonstrates her power. Jaguar hit an impressive spinning TKO for a near fall. He then hit a moonsault, but pulled Abigail up before the three count, which came back to cost him.

Abagail comes back and hits Jaguar with a big boot for the win. This was an entertaining opening match showcasing two wrestlers that have been very successful on the west coast.

Juicy Finau def Eddy Powers and Kyrie TK

Eddy and Kyrie are two of the most recent graduates of the West Coast Pro Academy. They came to the ring and complained about not having any matches yet and issued an open challenge, which was a mistake.

The giant Juicy Finau came out to answer the challenge and had no problem disposing of both of the young wrestlers. Juicy crushes them both in the corner, picks THEM BOTH up, and gives them a Samoan Drop for the win.

Ishmael Vaughn def Loverboy Leo, Red Hot Tommy Mars, J2 Mattioli, and Jayson Xavier to earn a future Prestige Wrestling Championship match.

This became a five way scramble match. Ishmael made a statement quickly in the match, by hitting an impressive dive onto all of his opponents. He takes control of the match, but the other competitors team up on him. J2 hits a very impressive spinning body slam. Tommy goes for a coast to coast off the ropes, but Ishmael hits him with a spear out of mid air and pins Tommy for the win. Ishmael was certainly the star of this match, but I thought J2 was also very impressive.

Aaron Solo def Chris Nasty

This match started very quick and did not last very long. They both go after each other at the bell, but Solo gets the advantage and hits a Cradle DDT for the quick win.

West Coast Pro Tag Team Championship Match: Los Suavecitos (Danny Rose and Ricky Gee) (c) def Creature Feature (Lazarus and Noctis)

Creature Feature had been a successful tag team, but they have not teamed together in two years, which will definitely be an advantage for the champions. Los Suavecitos isolate Noctis early, using some innovative double team maneuvers.

Laz finally comes into the match and he comes in like a ball of fire. He forces both members of Los Suavecitos to the outside and hits them with a dive. All four combatants fight in the ring and Los Suavecitos hit Ghetto Birds for the win.

This was a really good match, both teams were impressive. I think that Los Suavecitos prove that they are one of the best teams in the country every time they are in the ring.

Beatrice Domino def Gypsy Mac

Gypsy has been successful all over the West Coast, but this is her first match at West Coast Pro. It is also Beatrice’s first singles match in WCP, so they are both trying to prove something to become regulars on the WCP shows. These are two very hard hitting women. Domino goes for a dive to the outside, but Mac hits her with a forearm and hits a dive of her own.

Mac suspends Domino on the ropes in the corner and drops her derriere on her. Domino hits an impressive running Vader Bomb. Mac is hitting Domino with everything she has and is getting frustrated that Domino will not stay down.

Domino hits a flapjack, driving Mac throat first onto the ropes. She follows this up with a Curb Stomp for the win. I enjoyed this match and would like to see both of these women back to West Coast Pro.

J Mainey and Vinnie Massano def Journey Fatu and Miko Alana

Both women are graduates of the West Coast Pro academy, Vinnie was their trainer, Journey just likes to hit people. The women start out the match and remain even until they tag in the men. Vinnie and Journey pick up the pace.

Miko tags in, which looks like it may have been a mistake, but she rakes Vinnie’s eyes and hits a low drop kick on him. Miko tags in Journey and he and Vinnie resume their violence with each other.

Vinnie moves out of the way of a moonsault from Journey and both women tag back into the match. Mainey lays into Journey, then her and Vinnie dropkick him out of the ring. Miko hits Mainey with a Gory Bomb, but Vinnie breaks up the pin.

Vinnie and Journey then bring doors into the ring. Vinnie spears Journey through one of the doors. On the other side of the ring Mainey locks Micko in the Mainey Squeeze and forces Miko to tap out.

Titus Alexander def Man Like DeReiss

They start with a dance off, but once they get down to business the pace picks up quickly. Titus slows it down with some hard strikes. DeReiss hits a big blockbuster off the ropes. A crossbody from the top rope gives Titus the advantage, he then hit a handspring cutter and a brainbuster, but couldn’t put DeReiss away.

Titus goes for the handspring cutter again but DeReiss catches him and hits a German Suplex. They go back and forth with incredible athleticism. Titus wins with Big Ugly, a Chaos Theory type maneuver. This was the match of the show. Both of these wrestlers are incredible and will be stars for many years to come.

Alpha Zo def Bret the Threat

Bret, the former MMA fighter, tries to take the match to the mat, but Zo uses his power to toss Brett to the mat. Brett focuses on Zo’s arm and locks in multiple submission attempts. When Zo is on the offense it is exciting, but most of the match is him fighting offs submission attempts. Zo eats a suplex from Brett and hits him with 2 lariats for the win.

Jiah Jewell and Levi Shapiro def Beeftank (Beef and Calvan Tankman)

Beeftank have the size advantage, as they do in most of their matches. Tankman and Jiah fight out into the crowd as do Levi and Beef. Back in the ring, Jiah hits Beef with a shotgun dropkick. Jiah and Levi have a lot less experience as a team than Beeftank, but hit some nice double team moves.

Calvin isolates Levi and destroys him with some nasty shots, then Beef comes in and does the same. Tankman and Jiah, who have some history, face off against each other. Jiah hits a Tornado DDT. Tankman gives Jiah a superplex and Beef tries to hit him with a splash, but Jiah moves and pins Beef with a Louisiana Roll for the win.

@RighteousReg

I thought this was a very fun show. It did not have the star power that a lot of the West Coast Pro shows do, but it did have a lot of new faces.

I was impressed with J2 Mattioli, Miko Alana, Gypsy Mac, and Beatrice Domino. I would love to see all of them back in West Coast Pro. The WCP tag team championship match and the match between Man Like DeReiss and Titus Alexander were my favorite matches of the night.
