wXw 10/6/24 Femmes Fatale 2024 Recap and Review

This event took place on October 6 in Oberhausen, Germany. It was streamed live on TrillerTV.

The Femmes Fatale tournament is one of the top women’s tournaments in the world. This is the seventh year of the tournament and some of the previous winners have been Toni Storm, Meiko Satomura, LuFisto, and Nicole Mathews.

Semi Finals: Rhio vs Anita Vaughn

Rhio currently holds the Progress Woman’s Championship and is considered by many to be one of the top wrestlers in the world. Anita is going to try to use this tournament to climb the ranks and to be in that conversation. Anita had a much talked about match against 1 Called Manders a few days ago, which put her on a lot of people’s radar.

This starts out very hard hitting, as both wrestlers are incredibly powerful, but also very athletic. The match goes back and forth and could have gone either way. Anita hits a spinning sit-down side slam for the win at the 10 min mark.

Semi Finals: Debbie Keitel vs Jane Nero

Nero is clearly the fan favorite against the arrogant Keitel. Debbie busted Nero open with some nasty strikes. Nero fights back, but Debbie hits some impressive knees, followed by the Midnight Espresso for the win in around 7 minutes.

Anastasia Bardot and Calypso vs Venom and Violence (Dev Lynn and Kelsey Reagan)

This is Dev’s second trip to wXw, this time she brought a friend, and they are a very experienced team in the US. Bardot is showing off her power and Calypso is showing off her ability to cut corners. While Dev is in the ring with Calypso, Kelsey dives onto Bardot on the outside. Dev throws Calypso to Kelsey who hits Calypso with a flipping pump handle slam to get the win in 5 minutes. I thought this was a fun tag match, but would have loved to have seen it get a little more time.

Ava Everett w/ Jacob Crane and M4 vs Tank

Tank has a big size advantage and throws Ava around the ring to start the match. Ava has the crowd behind her, but cannot seem to figure out how to counter Tank’s strength. Tank hits a choke slam, but Ava kicks out and fires up. Ava hits a lung blower, and sends M4 at Tank, but Tank hits him with a spear. Tank charges Ava, who is In the corner, but Ava moves and rolls up Tank for the surprise win. Ava celebrates the win with the fans and her entourage.

No Disqualification Match: Jessy Jay vs Stephanie Maze

Jay is the more experienced in hardcore matches and comes to the ring with a kendo stick. Maze grabs a barbed wire kendo stick from under the ring and lays into Jay with it. Jay grabs a spike and drives it into Maze’s head, causing blood to flow down Maze’s face. Maze spills some thumbtacks onto the ring, but Jay picks her up and hits her with a buckle bomb followed by a powerbomb onto the tacks. Maze recovers and hits Jay with a superplex through four chairs for the win. This was a change of pace for the show and an entertaining hard core match.

Reyca vs Madison Marley vs Iva Kolasky vs Diana Strong

This is a very diverse collection of women in this match. Strong is from Poland, Reyca and Iva are from Hungry and Marley is from Denmark. The Hungarians try to team up early, but it backfires and Strong and Marley get the advantage on them. Reyca uses her strength to take Strong down with a Michinoku Driver, but Strong shows her strength by picking Reyca up and dropping her to the mat. Iva, Strong and Reyca are on the outside and Marley dives onto them. Marley then hits a lungblower off the ropes onto Iva for the win. All of the wrestlers in this match were impressive, but Marley, who is the youngest shined and I would expect to see her back at wXw.

Baby Allison (w/Robin Christopher Fohrwek) vs Ayame Sasamura

Ayame recently made her European debut at EVE in a very impressive match against Lucy Sky. Ayame currently holds championships in SEAdLINNNG and 2AW. Allison is a 2x former wXw Women’s champion and is being accompanied to the ring by Robin Christopher Fohrwek, who does like to get involved in his wrestler’s matches.

The crowd is firmly behind Ayame. Allison gets the advantage on the outside with the assistance of Robin who provided interference. Ayame hits a nice butterfly suplex and DDT combination. Allison gets control of the match with a pair of back suplexes followed by a spear, but Ayame will not stay down. Another impressive series of maneuvers from Allison as she launches Ayame with a spider suplex from the corner followed by a dropkick. This is some incredible action.

Allison locks in her Baby Exorcism submission, but Ayame is able to escape. Allison goes right back to that submission and Ayame is forced to tap. This was my favorite match on the show so far, and I feel that Ayame has impressed a lot of people in her first matches in Europe this weekend.

Femmes Fatales Finals: Debbie Keitel vs Anita Vaughan

They are very familiar with each other, as Debbie trained Anita and they are currently the EVE tag team champions. Vaughn is the crowd favorite, as she is a regular at wXw and Debbie has been insufferable toward the audience. Debbie uses her experience advantage to keep control of the early parts of the match. Debbie charges at Vaughn, but Anita moves and Debbie falls to the outside. Anita gives Debbie a kick from the apron. They exchange shots in the middle of the ring and Debbie tries to intimidate Anita, but Vaughn will not be intimidated.

The action goes back and forth with neither getting the advantage. Debbie hits Anita with a knee to the back of the head, she goes for another knee, but Vaughan catches it and hits a buster, but Debbie kicks out at one. Vaughn hits a swinging slam, but Debbie kicks out again. Vaughn hits Debbie with a bomb and is finally able to get a 3 count and becomes the 2024 Femmes Fatale Champion. This was an incredible battle between two wrestlers who are very familiar with each other.
