Brooke Valentine Announces Her Retirement

Brooke Valentine has announced her retirement from professional wrestling on her Instagram and Twitter accounts yesterday.

In the announcement Brooke states that she has always used wrestling as an escape, but her day-to-day life has been so good that she has not needed that escape. She also states that she has had multiple injuries and an incident in the ring has caused her to have major anxiety going into matches.

She goes on to say “I’ve been flown to places that baby Brooke would dream of visiting one day. I met the most amazing man that I get to build a beautiful life with! I’ve been wrestling since I was 19 years old. I’m about to turn 28. I want to see what life is like on the other side of the rail.”

Brooke Valentine started out her career in her home state of Iowa, mostly working for IPW and winning their Women’s Title in her first year. In her early years she mostly worked in the Midwest for promotions like MAW, IPW and ZOWA. Brooke has two big matches that really elevated her name. In August of 2020 Brooke defeated Joseline Navarro and Seishin at the initial Black Wrestlers Matter show and then at Allie Kat’s Real Hot Girl Shit show in January of 2021 Brooke faced Ziggy Haim. These matches both showed off Brooke’s skills in the ring and her large personality.

Brooke went on to participate and excel on many high profile shows in the next few years. Brooke won the Britney Spears Open Invitational at the Cassandro Cup. She then teamed with Willow Nightingale to form Thick and Juicy 2.0 to challenge Kiera Hogan and Tasha Steelz for the Impact Knockouts Title in a show stealing match at GCW’s For the Culture 2021. Thick and Juicy 2.0 also competed on both incredible Black Girl Magik shows, taking on Jazz and Trish Adora in 2021 and defeating young stars Estrella and Mazzerati in the 2022 edition.

Brooke also faced some of the top names in wrestling, including Delmi Exo, Queen Aminata, Willow Nightingale, Billie Starkz, Heather Reckless and many more. No matter who Brooke was in the ring with, Brooke was going to give you an amazing show. We will miss seeing Brooke in the ring, but look forward to seeing her on the other side of the barrier enjoying her friend’s matches as she is known to do.
