Pro Wrestling EVE “Multiverse Rumble” Recap

The Multiverse Rumble is typically one of the most unpredictable shows of the year, partly because the rumble happens in a different universe. However, this year’s event became even more unpredictable, when it was announced that Jaime Hayter would make her return and face Alex Windsor. We also have Nina Samuels defending her International Championship and a match between two of EVE’s best in Safire Reed and Emersyn Jayne.

Non Title Match: Lu Wave (Aluna and Lucia Lee) def Hard Up North (Harley Hudson and Lucy Sky)

HUN won the EVE Tag Team Championships on the last show and are facing a team that has been looking very impressive in Lu Wave. Lucy was dominating with her power through most of the match, but that changed when she tagged in Harley. Harley picked up a member of Lu Wave for a Doomsday Device, but Lucy gets her leg grabbed when she climbed the ropes. Harley then gets rolled up and pinned. This is an upset and a huge will for Lu Wave, that will put them in contention for the tag team titles

Skye Smitson def Abi Cartwright

Nina Samuels comes out for her match with Myla Grace covered with all her championship titles, ten in total. She even has an assistant to carry some of them. Skye Smitson comes out and demands a match for the EVE Heavyweight Championship. Nina says that she will give Skye a match with her assistant Abi Cartwright.

Skye Smitson defeats Abi Cartwright is very quick fashion. Skye then returns her attention to Nina, but is told that she has to leave the building to avoid any more disturbances during Nina or Alex Windsor’s matches.

EVE International Championship: Nina Samuels (c) def Myla Grace

Myla finally comes out for her match. This is her return to EVE after a long trip to Japan, where she excelled at Marigold. Myla always has some of the best gear, always very flashy and bright.

Myla takes Nina to the mat early, but Nina gets the advantage on the outside of the ring, as she shows how vicious she can be. Nina drops Myla’s face on her knee, but Myla kicks out of the pin attempt. The crowd gets behind Myla, which infuriates Nina. Myla goes for the corkscrew off the top rope, but misses and Nina hits Starstruck for the win.

Safire Reed def Emersyn Jayne

The arrogant Safire slaps Jayne, which fires Jayne up and Jayne takes the fight to where she is most comfortable, the outside of the ring. Back in the ring, Jayne comes off the top rope and takes out Saphire, then goes to the other corner, but Safire hangs her up in the corner and hits her with a running knee. Emersyn has such a unique and quick striking offense. She hit Saphire with a suplex, then comes off the ropes, driving Safire’s head into the mat. They fight on the apron and Jayne gets dropped on the apron.

Jayne is able to come back and climbs the turnbuckle but Saphire brings Jayne down. Safire hits a running knee, but Jayne kicks out of the pin attempt. They exchange strikes and neither one can get the advantage. Jayne hits a rana, then a Clitty Clitty Bang Bang, (reverse piledriver) but Safire kicks out. Jayne missed the moonsault.  Safire drives Jayne’s head into the ringpost, then she jumps on Jayne driving her head into the apron. Back in the ring, Safire hits a torpedo headbutt for the win with two minutes left in the match. This was an incredible match between two of the best wrestlers in Europe.

Kasey as The Greatest Showman wins Multiverse Rumble

In the Multiverse Rumble, the EVE wrestlers dress up as other people, or sometimes things. Last year’s winner was Nightshade as a Lampshade that actually lit up. As the name implies, this rumble takes place in an alternate universe, so nothing that happens here affects what happens in the EVE universe.

The first person to come out is Amira, who says that she is the ref, and that means that she has done every job at EVE. Next are Safire Reed as John Cena, complete with bald spot, and Anita Vaughn as Triple H. Other highlights include Lucy Sky as Where’s Wally (she was hiding in the crowd most of the match), Lucia Lee as Gash Morgan Webster and Rayne Leverkusen who was incredible as Rayne O’ Mac.

Nina Samuels comes out as Right To Censor Ivory and everyone immediately teams up on her and she is quickly eliminated by a stunner from Where’s Wally. Will Ospreay (the real Will Ospreay, who is a producer for EVE) comes in the ring and gives Triple H a pedigree, but is sent back out over the top rope by Rayne O’ Mac. Rayne eliminates Triple H, but is then eliminated by The Greatest Showman. Amira comes in the ring stating she is Amira playing the part of a ref, but is quickly eliminated by The Greatest Showman.

Jamie Hayter def Alex Windsor

This is a match that Windsor has wanted for a while and Alex’s injuries kept it from happening until now. The match is completely even in the first five minutes of the match.

Hayter brings the fight to the outside and throws Alex through the rows of chairs. Alex then reverses Hayter’s second attempt, and throws Hayter threw the chairs. Hayter grabs a chair, but Alex kicks it into Hayter’s face. Hayter starts to cut some corners and chokes Alex, and the crowd has now chosen their favorite in Alex Windsor.

Hayter is taking control of the match and looking impressive as she hits a double knee in the corner and a short jackhammer. Alex comes back with an impressive spinning clothesline. They exchange suplexes and this match is back to a stalemate. Alex ducked a clothesline from Hayter, hit her with one of her own and hits Hayter with a powerbomb, but only gets a two count.

Alex hits a fisherman’s buster off the middle rope, but Hayter kicks out at two. Alex locks in a Sharpshooter, but Hayter escapes and hits a short piledriver, but Alex kicks out at one. Hayter drops Alex spine first on her knee, then hits Off With Her Head, a short clothesline, for the win at the 24 minute mark in an incredible match.

After the match, Hayter said that EVE was the only place that took a chance on her and that EVE is her home. Hayter goes on to say that Windsor is one of the best women’s wrestlers in the world and that she would love to face Alex again. Jaime leaves and Nina Samuels takes this opportunity to attack Alex from behind, which brings out Skye Smitson, who hits Nina with her title belt. She goes to hit Alex, but Alex ducks and hits Skye with a headbutt. All the producers and referees pull the three apart. It is announced that Nina will defend both of her championships next month in a two fall triple threat match. The next show will be “Women Behaving Badly” on International Women’s Day, March 7.
