This past Saturday, H2O Wrestling held their “Reminisce” event at their home in Williamstown, New Jersey. While no official word has been made, this seemed to be a sending off for H2O and the H2O Wrestling Center.
Video packages played throughout the night to the tunes of “Hanging by a Moment” by Lifehouse and “Good Riddance” by Green Day. Wrestlers made their entrances in tears, and made post match speeches on what H2O has meant to them.
The 4.5 hour event was headlined by two men that know eachother well. Peace Love And Deathmatch stablemates, Anthraxx and Alex Stretch fought in a brutal deathmatch that saw Anthraxx come out on top. Following the match, H2O owner Matt Tremont entered the ring and asked the entire locker room to do so as well. Chants of H2O blended into the final video package; “Closing Time” by Semisonic played. The words “Closing Time” followed by “Thank You” appeared on the screen before the stream ended. The replay of the event can be watched anytime on IWTV.
Wrestlers and wrestling fans took to Twitter to share their thanks and well as their favorite moments from the building.
There are no future dates announced for H2O Wrestling or any announced events taking place at the H2O Wrestling Center. If this is the end, let us know your favorite matches and moments on Twitter @pwponderings.
