Opening Contest: Alpha Zo vs. Evan Rivers
Rivers is definitely over as a heel and the crowd is pro-Zo. Zo frustrates Rivers early and gets a slap for his efforts. Kneelift and penalty kick by Zo to take back control. Rivers tries biting and gets a headscissors takedown. Zo comes back with a t-bone suplex for two. Evan manages to go back on the offensive targeting the left arm of Zo. Basement clothesline gets two. Kneestrike for another two. Rivers charges but misses, and Zo gets a Busaiku knee and both men are down.

Forearm to the back of the head gets a close two count. Moonsault misses and Zo pokes the eyes. Big lariat connects and Zo gets Made In Oakland for the win. This was a match that I enjoyed watching. ***¼

Match Two: Elliot Tyler (w/ Sid Sylum) vs. Jiah Jewell
Jewell rocking the modern-day Skinner gimmick. He takes early control but Sylum pulls Elliot outside to halt the momentum. Tornado DDT and bicycle kick as Jewell goes for the Gator Roll, but Tyler stomps the foot and gets a Saito Suplex. Tyler hits the chinlock to slow things down. Jewell breaks free and gets a clothesline, then drops Sylum on the outside. Side suplex gets two. Double-underhook sit-out powerbomb gets two. Gator Roll is on now, but Sylum gets up on the apron to interfere and Tyler gets the rollup for the win (with the referee watching it all). **¼

Match Three: Matt Brannigan & JT Thorne vs. The Golden Era
Thorne is having none of Brannigan’s shenanigans which may not bode well for their chances here. Brannigan and Stevens begin with a posedown, clearly won by Matt. Brannigan uses the power of the booze to muscle up to Stevens. Shoulderblock finally lands for Matt but Thorne tags in, so Dutra tags in for the Era. Dutra misses a knee and Thorne gets an armbar. JT goes for a tag but Matt hands him a drink instead. That allows Dutra to get a big bodyslam. Backbreaker/neckbreaker combo gets two as Stevens comes back in. Tremendous looking dropkick from Stevens gets two. Rough Ryder gets two and Dutra takes over. He makes the cardinal mistake of messing with Brannigan’s drink which lets Thorne hit a spinebuster. Thorne reaches for the tag and Matt pours a drink down his throat instead, which briefly fires up JT until he collapses. Brannigan jumps in to run wild on the Era with a double clothesline. Matt uses Thorne as a weapon and rocket launches him onto the Golden Era. Stevens breaks up the fun with a knee as the Era double press slam Thorne. But Brannigan sneaks in with a rollup on Dutra for the win. Zane with the line of “we got Brannigan winning a tag match before GTA 6!” popped me. **

Match Four: Liiza Hall vs. Maya World
World was trained by ROH Women’s Champion Athena. Good series of technical reversals to start. They trade armdrags and World gets a rana. Northern Lights suplex gets two. Hall comes back with a forearm and suplex for two. Liiza gets some chops as the crowd starts to rally behind World. Ankelock applied by Hall but Maya is able to get the ropes to break.
World gets a series of strikes and a German suplex. Armdrag into a crossface, but Hall shifts that into a cross-armbreaker. PK misses and World gets a superkick and we go into a pinfall reversal sequence with neither getting the pin. World with a roaring elbow and Gory Special for the win. **½ Energetic and fun match from these two.

Match Five: Vaughn Vertigo vs. Starboy Charlie
The V-Guy has had momentum on his side as of late. Charlie takes the offensive early with a spinning heel kick and armdrag. Vertigo cuts him off and lands a half and half suplex. Corner splash and basement dropkick gets just one. V gets a standing moonsault for two. Cravat locked in but Charlie fights out of it and wins a battle of strikes. Flying clothesline from Starboy takes Vertigo down. Standing shooting star press gets two for Charlie.
Vertigo boots Charlie to the floor and follows with a pescado. He tosses Charlie back in, but Charlie flies right back outside with a tope suicida. Starboy goes up top but gets crotched. Tower of London by Vertigo gets two. They duke it out and both men are down. Vaughnton Bomb to the back of Charlie. PK is caught by Charlie and a rollup gets two. Uranage and a standing Cosmic Swirl gets two for Starboy. He goes back up for a Shooting Starboy Press for the win! Both these guys rule. ***½
After the match, Jordan Cruz and Alan Angels run out to beat down Charlie, and Sinner & Saint jump into to run off the heels.

Match Six: Prestige Tag Team Championships – Midnight Heat (c) vs. Hammer Brothers
Gibson and Jack Hammer begin with a fistfight. Pearl tags in but runs into a Lou Thesz press. Both teams make a tag as Sledge makes his first appearance, overpowering both members of the Heat. Scoop and slam to Gibson and Jack tags back in as the Hammers hit a wheelbarrow splash for two. Pearl with a cheapshot from behind to put the Heat back on the offensive.
Bodyslam by Gibson, and a series of elbowdrops miss and Jack makes the tag but the referee doesn’t see it. I love that spot. Jack and Gibson fight over a suplex, with Hammer getting a jackhammer. Tags are made and Sledge again runs wild. Chokeslams for both members of the Heat. Sidewinder slam on Pearl, but Gibson has the ref distracted. Eddie grabs a chain and drills Sledge with it for the win and the champs retain. ***¼

Match Seven: Drexl, Jaiden & Casey Ferreira vs. Los Suavecitos
Drexl starts with Quest, freaking him out in the process. Rose tags in and receives several eyepokes. Ferreria and Jaiden tag in with a double team on Rose. The faces continue to dominate taking it to Ricky. The Suavecitos have had enough and all three members come in to take over with fast-paced doubleteam moves on Casey. They cut off the ring and Quest gets a neckbreaker and splash for two.
Ferreria finally manges to fight back and gets a tornado DDT and tag to Drexl. Jaiden comes in for funsies and cleans house. Lope suicida to the floor by Drexl and Casey takes out everyone with an Asai moonsault. Piledriver from Drexl but he gets tripped up by Rose. Casey with a Falcon Arrow to Rose. Suavecitos use more team moves and Quest gets a 450 on Jaiden which gets two as Drexl breaks it up. Poison rana from Jaiden on Ricky. Up top Casey gets a rana and Jaiden follows with a Superhero Splash for the win. Fun six-man tag action. ***

Match Eight: West Coast Pro Championship – Kevin Blackwood (c) vs. Danny Orion
Blackwood takes control early. Orion avoids a clothesline and slides outside to sit with the fans. Back in Orion gets a sweet dropkick which sends the champion outside. Blackwood cuts off a dive and gets a running clothesline for two. Orion reverses a suplex with a small package for two, but Kevin comes back and gets a snap suplex for two of his own. German suplex with a bridge gets another two. Corner charge misses and Orion gets snake eyes. Low kick and Orion follows with a tope con hilo to the floor. Springboard moonsault by the challenger gets a two count.
Orion looks for a Sharpshooter but Kevin kicks away. Orion with a handspring into a front-face slam for two. He tunes up the band but misses an overhead kick. Pop-up powerbomb and running kneestrike by Blackwood gets two. They head to the top where Kevin pushes off and gets a double footstomp on the apron. Brainbuster back inside gets a very close two. PK is caught and Orion gets a Boston Crab which Blackwood reverses into a small package for two. Jumping tornado DDT by Orion followed by a crucifix bomb gets two. Swanton bomb misses and Blackwood gets a Helluva kick and a double footstomp to retain. The was my first time seeing Orion, but I now want to see more. ****¼ A show-stealer.

Main Event: Sinner & Saint vs. Alan Angels and Jordan Cruz
Cruz starts with Williams and we quickly switch to Icarus who works on the left arm of Cruz. Angels causes a distraction allowing the heel team to take over. Williams jumps in as S&S chop away at Cruz and Angels scoots to the outside to regroup. Release German suplex from Cruz on Williams as Angels jumps in to pick at the bones. I appreciate the story that Jordan Castle tells on commentary of Angels only coming into the ring when his opponent is down already. German by Angels gets two on Williams. Cruz tags in and overpowers Williams. Angels returns but Williams manages to outmaneuver him and tag Icarus. He chops away at the champion and takes him down. Spear from Icarus followed by an inverted cutter gets two. Double dropkick to Cruz. Angels avoids another however and lands a lope suicide on Icarus. Cruz with a big kneestrike, then powerbombs Williams into Icarus. Superplex and frogsplash combo only gets two. Everyone heads to the floor now with S&S getting the better of things. Frog splash by Icarus hits the knees of Angels who then rolls up Judas for two.
Professional Lariat from Williams on Angels, but Cruz hits his finisher, only to get tornado DDT’d by Icarus. Angels scoots back in and locks on the Halo Stretch which gets broken up. Assisted sit-out powerbomb by Angels. Halo Strike to Icarus, and a tombstone piledriver by Cruz only gets two somehow. Williams dives back in with another lariat on Cruz which allows Icarus to backdrop Cruz away. Angels and Icarus duke it out. Ode to the Fallen is interrupted by Cruz, but Icarus gets Angels in a crucifix for the surprise win! Crazy action throughout. ****
Final Thoughts: A solid show throughout, with the last two matches really making this a strong overall showing. Go out of your way to see Blackwood/Orion and the main event.
