On Friday, June 20th, Chaotic Wrestling returned to Watertown, MA, for it’s event, “Charged Up.” The event saw a ton of great action and big moments, including Mortar defending his Chaotic Wrestling Heavyweight Championship against Brad Hollister in a two-out-of-three falls match.
However, the bigger news came after the main event when both competitors had to be pulled apart by the Chaotic Wrestling locker room. The “Chase That Runs The Place,” Chase Del Monte, who was filling in as a referee, got on the microphone and said that both Mortar and Hollister would have the chance to become Chaotic Wrestling Heavyweight Champion at the Chaotic Countdown.
Fans in attendance thought this meant we were just going to see Mortar and Hollister made official in another one-on-one match at Chaotic Countdown on July 11th. However, Del Monte dropped the bombshell news shortly after, telling Mortar he’ll be defending the Chaotic Wrestling Heavyweight Championship for the first time ever in the 30-man Chaotic Countdown.
Mortar took the news as well as you’d imagine. With so much up in the air about who will be in the Chaotic Countdown match, the only thing we know for sure is if Mortar hopes to win the Chaotic Wrestling Heavyweight Championship, he must defeat 29 other competitors.
