Yesterday was the five year anniversary of Akira jumping off a rooftop at ICW No Holds Barred Volume 2.
Five years ago in a parking lot in Atlantic City, New Jersey, the relatively unknown deathmatch wrestler Akira became an overnight sensation after jumping off a roof with a bundle of light tubes onto his opponent, Reed Bentley. The moment went viral and lead to Akira getting opportunities to face some of the top deathmatch wrestlers including Matt Tremont.
Since then Akira had signed with MLW where he held the MLW Middleweight Championship and Tag Team Championships. He’s the current BJW Death Match Heavyweight Champion in Japan.
Akira is scheduled to return to ICW at NHB 80 on July 18th to face the current American Deathmatch Champion John Wayne Murdoch.
