Pro Wrestling EVE (8/23/2025) “EVE x The World” Recap and Review

EVE x The World took place on August 23 in London, England and was broadcasted live on YouTube for their subscribers.

The show included appearances from multiple AEW wrestlers and was highlighted by the EVE  Champion, Nightshade, defending the title against Nyla Rose.

Rhio def Lucy Sky to name the #1 contender for the EVE Championship

This match starts out very hard hitting. Lucy gets dropped spine first on the apron. They fight on the outside of the ring, and Lucy gets driven into the ringpost, but she fights back and drops Rhio on the apron with a powerbomb. Lucy misses a frog splash as they go into the ring and the tempo of the match starts to pick up. Lucy hits the frog splash, then a spear, but Rhio keeps fighting back. They both kick out of each other’s signature moves at 1 to show that they are not going away easy. Rhio hits a package piledriver for the win and becomes the number 1 contender for the EVE Championship. This was are really good, hard hitting match to open the show.

Session Moth Martina and Skye Smitson def Manipulation (JC Storm and Vanity)

I am a big Skye Smitson fan as she can be really silly and also one of the scariest and toughest wrestlers in EVE. This match was originally supposed to be Martina and Skye vs Major League Blondes, but Vanaty replaced Nahir Robles and we have Manipulation. After some shenanigans from Skye and Martina, Manipulation takes control and make quick tags. Skye finally makes a tag to Martina, and Martina hits a flying cross body on her 2 opponents. Martina hits a Jager Bomb on JC, but its not enough to put her away and Manipulation takes over again. Skye picks up the violence, by hitting both opponents with lariats and pinning JC Storm for the win.

After the match Skye says that Martina is stumbling on moves that she used to hit flawlessly. She goes on to say that the only one that doesn’t believe that Martina is one of the best in the world is Martina. Skye is going to show her some tough love at the next show and it will be Skye vs Martina.

Queen Aminata def Anita Vaughan

This is our first taste of AEW talent on the show. We have some good counter wrestling to start the match. Anita is getting very upset at Queen’s antics. Anita takes over the match, using her anger and some nasty tactics. Queen Aminata is having some very fun interactions with the fans while they are fighting on the outside. They exchange heavy strikes with 4 minutes left in the match. Queen hits a double stomp. She then hits a headbutt followed by a running knee for the win with only 2 minutes left. This was a fun match, as both of these wrestlers are hard hitting, but their personalities are completely different, as Queen Aminata has a fun time while she is in the ring and Anita is very serious and angry.

Absolute Chaos match to determine the #1 contender for the EVE International Championship: Nina Samuels w/ Abi Cartwright def Rayne Leverkusen, Trish Adora, Billie Starkz, Bozilla

Billie Starkz gets the loudest reaction of the night so far. Chaos at the beginning of the match, and everyone fights on the outside, then Billie hits a swanton on the rest of her opponents. Abi pays off for Nina, as she breaks up a pin attempt by Bozilla. Nina hits a knee to the head of Trish and gets the win. This sets up Nina Samuels against the winner of the main event, as Nina looks to reclaim the EVE Championship.

The Sisters of Sin (Julia Hart and Skye Blue) vs Mille McKenzie and Saphire Reed ends in a time limit draw

The Sisters of Sin are the first to get the advantage when Saphire slips on the ropes, trying to go for a springboard. SOS use a lot of double team maneuvers and quick tags. When Millie finally gets in the match, she is a suplex machine, even giving one to both opponents at the same time. It all breaks down with all four fighting int the ring. Millie hits a big spear on Julia, but Hart kicks out. Julia locks Millie in an Octopus stretch, then Blue locks Saphire in one of her own. Millie escapes, but Julia hits a DDT. Julia locks Millie in another submission, but Saphire breaks it up by using Skye. Saphire tries to fight both opponents, but is hit with a double super kick. SOS hits Saphire with a double team maneuver, but Millie breaks it up. We run out of time as all four women are trading punches. Millie and Saphire looked great in this match and showed why they both deserve to be on an international stage.

EVE Championship: Nyla Rose def Nightshade (c) w/ Aubrey Edwards as the special referee

These two powerhouses open the match by trying to see which one is the strongest and it is very even. Nightshade gets the advantage early with a Samoan Drop. It is a back and forth match that could go either way. In the end, Nyla hits a swanton onto Nightshade to become the new EVE Champion. The EVE locker room comes out to celebrate with Nyla. It was a great effort by Nightshade, but in the end, Nyla’s power mixed with her athleticism was too much for Nightshade.

After the match was over and the broadcast went off the air, Rhio came out from the locker room and attacked Nyla. Rhio explained her actions on Twitter by saying, “Dan Reed (co-owner of EVE) you promised me you would fix the situation, but instead of doing that, I have to EARN my championship opportunity, while AEW girls just walk in and get given championship matches. Bring back the EVE rankings to see who deserves it.”
