From the weekend of September 12th through September 14th, we saw some great action from a number of different companies. While this was a quieter week than usual, there was still no scarcity of fantastic matches to choose from. From the likes of Chaotic Wrestling, Game Changer Wrestling, SOS Pro, & CannonballFest, these are seven must-see matches for any fan of independent wrestling.

7. Mortar vs. Richard Holliday from Chaotic Wrestling’s “Summer Chaos 2025”
On Friday, September 12th, Chaotic Wrestling kicked off its big “25 Year Anniversary Celebration” weekend with “Summer Chaos.” The main event of this show saw Mortar meet Richard Holliday for the Chaotic Wrestling Heavyweight Championship in a casket match. The winner of this match would go on to face WWE’s Ivar on Saturday at the “25 Year Anniversary Celebration.” This match was everything we hoped it would be and then some. We always knew how good Mortar was, but he has truly come into his own in his current run as the Chaotic Wrestling Heavyweight Champion. He had a great dance partner on Friday, too, as Richard Holliday is the PERFECT heel. At times, it even looked as if Holliday was going to shut Mortar in the casket and win the title, but in the end, Mortar got the job done, giving Holliday a taste of his own medicine. This was a war, and it is, without a doubt, a must-see match from this past weekend. Go watch it on the Chaotic Wrestling YouTube channel.

6. Megan Bayne vs. Shotzi Blackheart from Game Changer Wrestling’s “GCW Evil Deeds”
The next match that is worth watching this weekend is actually a first-time-ever matchup. In wrestling now, there aren’t many first-time-ever matches to make. However, on Friday, September 12th, GCW held a massive first-time-ever match between Megan Bayne and Shotzi Blackheart. This match lived up to the hype and then some. Since returning to the independent wrestling scene, Shotzi has set out to show everyone exactly how good she is and that WWE messed up releasing her. She has done just that, too, showing off and showing out in every match that she’s been in. As for Megan Bayne, the world is finally beginning to see what I saw a long time ago, before she got signed to AEW; she is a star in every sense of the word. This was a great match. 5. The Unit (Trigga The OG, JT Dunn, & Danny Miles) vs. Aaron Rourke, Dante Drago, & TJ Crawford from Chaotic Wrestling’s “25 Year Anniversary Celebration”
Next, we saw The Unit’s Trigga, The OG, JT Dunn, & Danny Miles team up to face a team of Create A Pro’s finest, Aaron Rourke, Dante Drago, & TJ Crawford. This was a six-man tag team showcase on Saturday night at the “25 Year Anniversary Celebration” for Chaotic Wrestling. This match showed everything great about Chaotic in one setting. Not only does Chaotic team up with some amazing promotions in the northeast, in this case, Create A Pro, but their homegrown talent is second-to-none. It’s not every day that we get to see The Unit work together in their full form, but every time we do see that match, we cherish it. Trigga the OG has done the best work of his entire career as of late in his run as Chaotic Wrestling’s New England Champion, and JT Dunn & Danny Miles have truly shown exactly how good they are as a cohesive unit as the Chaotic Wrestling Tag Team Champions. This was an excellent tag team match and is worth a rewatch. You can go check this out on the Chaotic Wrestling YouTube channel.

4. Amira vs. Brittnie Brooks from SOS Pro’s “Honor Among Thieves”
In another fantastic match on the weekend, we saw Amira go one-on-one with Brittnie Brooks on Friday, September 12th at SOS Pro’s “Honor Among Thieves.” The reason this makes the list is because of how great Amira and Brooks are. They are two of the best up-and-coming women’s wrestlers on the independent wrestling scene today, and this match just proved that sentiment to be true. While they had some fun in the beginning, Brooks & Amira went on to put on a terrific wrestling match. Amira and Brooks truly showed up and showed out in front of the fans of SOS Pro, and this match is worth a watch. Go check it out on IWTV.

3. Mike Santana vs. Bear Bronson from “CannonballFest”
In one of the most special events of the weekend, we saw Mike Santana go one-on-one with Bear Bronson at “CannonballFest.” The event streamed live on the Game Changer Wrestling YouTube channel on Sunday, September 14th. With all of the negativity around today, this was one of the most positively amazing shows in a long time. The professional wrestling world came together to join Jeff Cannonball in his fight against ALS with this amazing event. Santana and Bronson kicked off the show, and this was absolutely the right choice. If you like hard-hitting fights between two men who, while they respect each other, want to beat the hell out of each other, this one is for you. In the end, Santana hit his “Spin The Block” on Bronson to win the match, but this was, without a doubt, the best match on the card. These two men came together to make magic for an amazing cause. Highly recommend checking this one out on the GCW YouTube channel.

2. 1 Called Manders vs. Calvin Tankman vs. Mance Warner from Game Changer Wrestling’s “GCW Rumble on the River”
On Saturday, September 13th, Game Changer Wrestling held their second of two events on the weekend, “Rumble on the River.” Before the big main event match with Matt Tremont & Billie Starkz, we saw 1 Called Manders, Calvin Tankman, and Mance Warner meet in a MEAT contest. This was such a hard-hitting match that left fans speechless at times. Manders, Tankman, and Warner are three of the biggest and baddest men on the independent wrestling scene today. So, to win the match, you must really take the fight to either of these men. In the end, Manders got the win over Tankman. All three men truly showed up and showed out in this one. This was a brawl, this was a fight, this was honestly perfect. If you like to see people just beating the absolute hell out of each other, this one is for you. Go watch it back on TrillerTV+.

1. Mortar vs. Ivar from Chaotic Wrestling’s “25 Year Anniversary Celebration”
The top match to go back and watch from this past weekend came in the main event of Chaotic Wrestling’s “25 Year Anniversary Celebration.” Not only was it a stellar match inside the ring, but it meant so much to fans of Chaotic Wrestling. Mortar put his Chaotic Wrestling Heavyweight Championship on the line against WWE’s Ivar, formerly Handsome Johnny, in his home of Chaotic Wrestling. Mortar and Ivar crushed it in this one. In the end, Mortar retained via DQ thanks to interference from Chase Del Monte. However, this may be one of the most legendary matches in Chaotic Wrestling in recent memory. Mortar truly deserves this moment, as he went toe-to-toe with someone who led the “old guard” of Chaotic Wrestling and earned his respect. While Ivar may have been a focal point of the past in Chaotic Wrestling, Mortar is without a doubt building the future of Chaotic Wrestling, and he’s without a doubt etching his name in the record books. Go back and watch this instant classic on the Chaotic Wrestling YouTube channel.
