UK independent wrestling star and former NXT UK roster member Millie McKenzie has announced that she will be cutting back on her wrestling schedule due to health issues.
In a statement released on Twitter, McKenzie revealed that she was in a hospital for over a week due to liver issues. She went on to state that she would have to receive a liver transplant or else her liver will continue to deteriorate.
“Thank you everyone for the kind words. I am now out of hospital. For those that don’t know, l’ve lived with a rare form of liver disease all my life. Unfortunately it’s progressed much faster than expected meaning I will continue to deteriorate until I receive a liver transplant. Because of this I have to completely cut back my wrestling schedule. Hopefully my liver will stabilise, which might allow to me continue wrestling in some form. I have to be extremely careful to not to push myself too much at the moment, while I’m trying to build my strength back up. This is not a decision l’ve made lightly, I wish things were different. I’ve wrestled since I was 14, it’s been my life. Hopefully I will see you all at a show soon.”
McKenzie’s last match took place on August 25th.
We would like to wish Millie McKenzie a speedy recovery.
