Belle 2 Bell “Saved By The Belle” Recap

We begin the show with the promoter of B2B, Missy Sampson, in the ring with a little bit of sad news. She says that this will be the last Belle to Bell show in the foreseeable future. There were some circumstances where she did not see that it would be possible for them to continue at the moment. She is not ruling out that B2B will return, but it that happens it would not be in 2025.

She goes on to say that this is going to be a great show and they were going to crown their Ruby Champion in January, but since that show will not happen and they already have the belt, the champion will be crowned the first match between Journey Burke and Stevie Brooks.

The match between Journey Burke and Stevie Brooks is a very fun match between two crowd favorites. It starts out at a fast pace and does not slow down. Stevie is very strong, but is deceptively quick. In the end, Stevie is able to use her power advantage to get the win.

While I think both are incredible wrestlers and are going to hold many titles throughout their career, I think Stevie deserved this win. Stevie is a Monster Factory student, who has been with B2B since the start. Stevie had great matches against the top wrestlers in B2B; Avery Jax, Zoey Cannon, Kate Thorn, Mother Endless, and Valerie Verman. She was also in the 4-way match to crown the first Diamond Champion with Zoey Cannon, Gaby Ortiz, and Notorious Mimi. Stevie may not have won all of these matches, but she fought as hard as she could and became better every time that she was in the ring, which was what led her to becoming the first Ruby Champion.

Independent wrestling legend, Angel Orsini, entered the ring representing the Women’s Wrestling Hall of Fame and giving Missy Sampson the award for promoter of the year. In case you have never seen any Angel Orsini matches before, I would recommend checking them out. She was one of the toughest women you will find in the ring. Introducing Missy is the inaugural Belle to Bell Diamond Champion and the person who came up with the name “Belle to Bell” Gabby Ortiz.

Gabby says that there was a point where she didn’t know where she fit in wrestling. She said she didn’t really feel like she fit with the vets or the new girls and felt alone. It was at this time that she was randomly put into a tag team with Missy Sampson. Someone asked them if they were a mother/daughter team and they laughed, but Gabby says, since then Missy became her wrestle mom. Whenever Danny Cage brought up the fact that they wanted a female trainer at the Monster Factory, Gabby was quick to recommend Missy.

Missy comes to the ring with her tag team partner and best friend, Annie Social. She thanks her trainers and the people who wrestled with her and were her close friends whenever she was wrestling, including Annie, Mercedes Martinez, Amy Lee, Homicide, Eddie Kingston and others. She also thanked Danny Cage for convincing her to become a trainer and start Belle 2 Bell. She said that all of the students at the Monster Factory were her children. She created a promotion that was all female and was run by females, and thanked everyone in the locker room and every fan that has ever supported them.

Back to the wrestling, we have Hoss House (Sammi Chaos and Adrianna Mosely) against Taylor One Shot and Clara Carter. Clara Carter said that she took creatine and was ready for the Hoss House. Clara was very much not ready for the Hoss House, as they beat her up all over the ring for most of the match. Clara was very entertaining, but did not get very much offense in. Taylor did not seem like she had much interest in getting into the match, but she eventually did. Taylor got a little bit of offense in, but it did not last long. Hoss House gets the decisive win. I would really like to see Hoss House team up in other promotions, as they work really well together and are a team unlike anyone else.

In the match I was really looking forward to, one of the top free agents, Lena Kross, takes on Lay’lah James. Lay’lah has really been making an impact in B2B, but has a real test ahead of her in Lena, who has recently appeared on both TNA and AEW. This match delivered everything that I wanted it to, it was really hard hitting and went back and forth the whole time. Lay’lah used her power to throw Lena around the ring, but the giant Aussie would not give up and pulled out the win. This was the best match I have seen from Lay’lah. I think she is someone that really benefited from B2B and proved herself every time that she stepped in the ring.

Lay’lah debuted in December when she was a replacement and teamed with Becca Wiley. She impressed the fans and locker room alike and was asked to come back. She then had a really great match aagainst Brittany Jade. I think Lay’lah would be a big addition to any roster, as she brings the power, athleticism, and energy that few do.

The heart of B2B, Becca Wiley took on Valentina Vasquez. Becca got some of the loudest cheers of the night, as she typically does. Valentina tried a lot of underhanded tactics, but Becca was able to withstand them all and get the pin. That has been the story of Becca in B2B, no matter what is thrown at her, she will keep coming back. Becca proved that she was not scared of anyone, asking for a match against former NWA Champion, Allison Kay, and standing toe to toe in the ring with her. She also teamed up with Journey Burke to take on the Daughters of Darkness. Wherever Becca goes, know that she will always be looking for a fight and looking to challenge herself.

If Becca is the heart of B2B, then Gabby is surely the leader. She gave the promotion it’s name and was the first champion. In this match she takes on her best friend, Vicious Vicki Venuto. They may be best friends, but they hit each other hard. They fight to the outside and eventually Gabby comes out the winner. They embrace after the match and Gabby says that this is not the end of Belle 2 Bell.

The main event sees former WWE star, Nixon Newell, challenge Notorious Mimi for the Diamond Championship. Zoey Cannon is in Mimi’s corner, as she is the one that helped Mimi win the championship from Gabby. Mimi has had some of the best matches in B2B history against Lena Kross, Rebecca Scott, and La Rosa Negra. This match would be no different. It was the match that you would expect from two former WWE wrestlers, who are still in their prime, and dare I say even getting better.

Nixon appeared to be having a lot of fun. They fought to the outside of the ring and Mimi once again met her arch rival, the Monster Factory wall, as Nixon through her straight into it. She then took Zoey and threw her into the wall. When they got back in the ring Zoey distracted the referee and Mimi used the title to get the win. This was an incredible match, with Mimi and Nixon showing off everything they had. Mimi and Zoey celebrate in the ring, but Zoey then takes her knee brace off and hits Mimi with it. This is very interesting, as Zoey has always felt like she was slighted in B2B, even going as far as attacking a referee multiple times. We may never know why Zoey attacked Mimi, but maybe it was just to say that she helped Mimi get the title and now that she is healthy she can take it away.

As a fan of Belle 2 Bell, the promotion felt like something different. I was proud to support them. Going to their shows it seemed like everyone was happy to be there, was having a great time, and gave everything they had. I do think that they will be back, because Gabby Ortiz said they will be, and I think that if she wants to accomplish something, she will do everything in her power to make it happen.
