Spotlight on Zoey Cannon

Zoey Cannon may have only been wrestling for a couple of years, but she has made an impact wherever she goes; from 3LW, to Belle 2 Bell and even MLW. She will have the crowd screaming whether they hate her or love her, and her over the top personality always gets a reaction.

Zoey is a hometown hero in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, where she says that she ended up training at 3LW purely by luck. 3LW is a school that is run by the former WWE star Ricardo Rodriguez.

Zoey talks about the start of her wrestling career. “I had just moved to the area and was looking for something to do. I saw an ad online about 3LW’s first live event that was to happen about a month from then. I looked into it, and I saw that this was a brand new company with a brand new training school. I messaged them, and I met everyone the next day. That was October 2022, and I’ve been there ever since. I am now the first female success story.”

Zoey has pretty much grown with 3LW. 3LW is in a small town, but has really grown due to their connection with the community. Zoey says, “3LW has strong community ties with our owners Chris Dreisbach being at the forefront of our connections. He owns Blueprints Recovery, as well as being integrated with Red Rose Sports Cards, Hawkstone Reality, and other companies in the area. Chris and co-owner Jesus Rodriguez are part of many community meetings, as well. On a smaller scale, each member of the 3LW roster seems to make connections with the fans that keep them coming back event after event. We may not be in a big city, but you wouldn’t know that when you look out into our crowds.”

Zoey had to miss some time due to injury, but because of this connection that she has with the fans, they certainly did not forget her. Zoey spoke about her injury, stating, “I tore my right ACL in May 2025. I ended up having surgery which kept me out of action until I was ready again. I tried staying socially active in the wrestling world while I was healing. It was very tough- mentally, physically, and emotionally- to keep going. Many times I felt like a failure, but being able to be around my friends and having that support helped me get through it all. My surprise return to 3LW’s Red Rose Rumble 3 was a feat in itself. With a crowd over 2,300, I felt very welcomed back. It’s a core memory now.”

Zoey has made such a connection with the fans that when she made a surprise return at Red Rose Rumble 3, after being away due to injury, she got one of the biggest reactions of the night. This was a show that featured former WWE stars Chavo Guerroro Jr, Richardo Rodriguez, Samuray del Sol and Savio Vega.

She faced Izzy Moreno in a great match. The little girls that are typically behind Izzy, were fiercely cheering for Zoey, with one young girl beside me even screaming “Izzy sucks”. I am sure this was out of her love for Zoey more that any hatred for Izzy.

Zoey has also been one of the main stars at Belle 2 Bell, an all-female promotion that was ran out of the Monster Factory. Zoey was one of the first people that Missy Sampson had recruited to be part of the promotion. She knew that she wanted Zoey to be one of the cornerstones of the promotion, along with Notorious Mimi, Gabby Ortiz and Stevie Brooks.

These four wrestlers were also the ones that competed in a 4-way match to crown the first Belle 2 Bell Diamond Champion. I asked Zoey about working for B2B and she said, “Belle 2 Bell is/was a promotion that I consider very close to my heart. Owned and operated by Missy Sampson, now inducted into the Women’s Wrestling Hall of Fame, Belle 2 Bell was run by all women in some fashion: talent, referees, commentary, ring announcing, photography, everything. Missy paved the way through blood, sweat and tears so those of us after may walk freely into a professional wrestling space that feels safe and fun. The Diamond Championship will be mine one day, just saying.”

Contrary to her time in 3LW, in Belle 2 Bell Zoey was one of the most despised wrestlers during most of her time there. She disrespected the fans, the other wrestlers, and even attacked a referee. While she was injured, instead of helping the promotion, she helped Notorious Mimi win the championship through underhanded tactics. Then, on the following show, she helped Mimi retain the title, then attacked her from behind with her knee brace.

I asked Zoey about her ability to connect with the crowd, both in a positive and negative way. She stated, “Working as a babyface and as a heel have their own perks. I’m lucky enough to have some creative freedom when I go to a new company, like B2B, because I’m able to try out different things on the fans. The B2B crowd and the 3LW crowd respectively are very receptive to the characters they meet. We are very fortunate to get that feedback from them and to see them at each event time after time. I’m always unpredictable; it’s what keeps me semi-interesting.”

Zoey has also spent some time working for MLW. She not only has wrestled for them, but she has also gained a job in a non-wrestling role. “I started out as a volunteer extra for Major League Wrestling a few years ago. I had a free day, showed up, and things fell into place. I am now their staffed stage director, and I travel with them for every event. I’ve been able to meet some very cool people since I’ve been with them.”

Zoey has her hands in just about everything, from helping 3LW connect with the community, traveling with MLW, or getting cheered/booed in the ring. So what’s next for Zoey Cannon?

“What’s next for Zoey Cannon? Whatever I can do! I’m debuting for Intense Wrestling Alliance on November 8 against Becca Wiley for her IWA women’s championship, I would love to return to PPW in Slatington, PA, I’ll always have my eye on the 3LW heavyweight championship, whatever opportunities arise, I’ll catch them. My next few weekends are packed with wrestling, and I wouldn’t want it any other way.”
