Prestige Wrestling 10/5/25 Roseland XII Review

Prestige Wrestling’s Roseland XII took place on Sunday, October 5, 2025 from The Roseland Theater in Portland, Oregon.

We are down to the final four shows of Prestige Wrestling before an indefinite hiatus. Roseland shows always deliver and this one should be no different.

The announcers are Jordan Castle and Brian Zane.

Opening Contest: Cody Chhun vs. Travis Williams

Both are winners of the Cascadia Wrestling Cup. Collar and elbow tie up to start things off. They trade wristlocks followed by a slick exchange of reversals and the crowd gives them an ovation for that sequence. Inverted atomic drop and dropkick by Cody Chhun. Travis Williams uses his technical skills to twist Chhun around and get a vertical suplex. Hard Irish whip into the corner gets two for Williams. Chhun comes back with a DDT and Spinarooni. Suplex gets two. To the outside Williams does a tope suicida and delivers the Professional Lariat for a close two count.

Travis lands his own version of the Cody Cutter for two. Williams looks for a DVD but gets rolled up for two and we get a pinfall reversal sequence. Enzuigiri and running knee by Williams, but Chhun gets a small package for two and follows with a superkick. Cody Cutter connects for a close two. They duke it out, won by Williams and he gets a DVD/brainbuster combo for the win. This was excellent with a hot crowd.  ****

Match Two: West Coast Pro Women’s Championship – Johnnie Robbie (c) vs. Trish Adora

Trish Adora works the arm early which Johnnie Robbie quickly turns the tables on. Adora with a neckbreaker and submission hold. Corner charge misses and Robbie gets a big boot and Codebreaker for two. Adora blocks an Irish whip and lands a Northern Lights suplex for two. Robbie quicky comes back with a knee strike and puts on a camel clutch. Adora busts out of that and hits a series of hip attacks. Delayed vertical suplex for two.

Wicked looking release German suplex by Adora followed by a full nelson bomb for another two. Bicycle kick misses allowing Robbie to get a Pepsi Twist for two. Adora reverses a suplex into a fisherman’s brainbuster which gets a close two count. Big lariat, but Robbie gets the foot on the rope to save the title. Robbie shakes loose, gets a stomp and double knees to the back to retain. Literally felt like she escaped that one. Another good match. ***

Match Three: Danhausen vs. Matt Brannigan

A dream match. Matt Brannigan offers a drink but ends up getting cursed by Danhausen. They both try to do kip ups but need the referee to help them. Brannigan escapes under the ring, and Danhausen goes after him, getting Matt Mannequin instead. Top-rope press slam to the mannequin but the referee won’t count the pin (for some reason). Danhausen pours the jar of teeth in the mouth of Matt and lands a pump kick for two. He goes for the box of Legos, but there was only one Lego in there…this allows Brannigan to recover and get a bodyslam. Chokeslam by Brannigan gets the pin and the win. Listen, I have no idea how to rate this, but it was sure entertaining.  **

Match Four: Prestige Wrestling Tag Team Championships – Midnight Heat (c) vs. The Good Brothers

Ricky Gibson and Karl Anderson begin. Anderson uses his strength to gain the upper hand and tags Big LG who helps clear the Heat from the ring. Pearl tags in for the champs and goes for the test of strength with Gallows which does not work out so well for him. Pearl rakes the eyes and tags are made and the Heat use their tag team distractions to take control. Anderson uses a jawbreaker to escape a chinlock and hits a spinebuster on Pearl.

Gallows and Gibson are the legal men now, with LG throwing big boots at the Heat. Assisted neckbreaker by the Good Brothers gets two. To the outside where Pearl shoves Gallows into the ringpost, but Anderson has Gibson rolled up with the referee distracted and only gets two. Pearl then nails Anderson with a chain letting Gibson to roll him up for the pin to retain.  **½

Match Five: Jaiden, Drexl & Flamin’ Aces vs. Elliot Tyler, Sid Sylum, Casey Ferreira & Cole Riveira

Ferreira, normally a babyface, was coerced to join the heel team here for this 8-man tag. Drexl attacks Tyler before the bell to start the craziness. Jaiden dives out to the floor as the Aces battle with Casey and Cole inside. In the balcony we get a tease of Drexl tosses Tyler off and into the crowd. Scott with a corkscrew moonsault and tags Perez. Zaye gets a rana on Riveira but he’s able to tag Ferreira who winds up getting doubled up on by the Aces.

Tyler makes his way back inside and Sylum lands a big knee for two on Scott. Sylum and Zaye tag in with Perez actually getting the better of things. Jaiden flies in with a Destroyer but Cole hits a Shining Wizard. We continue the wild sequence of guys running in and hitting their specials ending with Sylum getting a lariat on Perez. Ferreira gets a big frog splash on Perez for the win. Quick and chaotic.  **½

Match Six: Shayna Baszler vs. Dani Luna

Chain wrestling at the outset, which plays into Shayna Baszler’s strength. Penalty kick and stomp to the left arm of Dani Luna, sending her to the outside. Baszler continues to work the left arm with stretches and holds. More kicks to the chest of Luna who powers up and fights back eventually getting a single-leg dropkick to put both down.

Luna goes for a piledriver but Baszler reverses to an anklelock. Luna quickly escapes that and hits a sort-of Blue Thunder Bomb for two. She charges, but Baszler avoids and hits a German suplex for two. Kirifuda Clutch is applied and Luna looks to go out, but gives the ref the finger instead. Backdrop reverses out and a big boot. Luna charges right into a Gray Matter from Baszler for the win. **¾

Match Seven: Tag Team Turmoil

Winners get a shot at the Prestige Tag Titles. Alpha Sigma Squad are the first entrants. Amerikan Gunz are second. Double dropkick from the Gunz and an assisted cannonball sends the Squad out to the floor. Back in the Squad takes over on Ethan HD. Bronco Buster misses and the tag is made to Santiago. 357 hits for the Gunz to advance.

Team #3 is Los Suavecitos. Heel tactics give the Suavecitos the advantage with an assisted F5 getting two on Ethan HD. Ethan manages a springboard moonsault and tags Santaigo. German suplex gets two. DVD gets another two. They go for the 357 again but Rose pushes off HD and the Suavecitos get a rollup pin to move on.

Team #4 is Better Together who start out on fire. Double side-Russian legsweep on Gee. Friendship Breaker on Rose. Outside distraction allows the Suavecitos to hit a quick double-team move and a crossbody to win this round.Team #5 is C4. Rosas starts with Chhun being knocked out outside the ring and gets double-teamed for his troubles. Chhun fights back with jabs and a dropkick. Suplex/dropkick combo gives C4 the win.

Team #6 is ADK. Fallaway slam on Chhun by Andrews. Side suplex and elbow drop gets two on Chhun. Hot tag is made to Rosas and a double superkick lands. Assisted powerbomb eliminates ADK. Team #7 is Platonic Romance. Double basement dropkick from the Romance. They leap right into a Cody Cutter but C4 can’t get the assisted powerbomb and Coy rolls up Chhun for the upset win.

Team #8 is Jordan Cruz and Ocean Avery. The Romance fight them off early, but Cruz overpowers them, and Avery gets an F5 onto the ropes. Cruz gets a suplex on the apron. Coy manages to fight off both briefly, but not for long. Package Piledriver and No More Sorrow connect for Cruz and Avery to move on.

The final team is The Hammer Brothers. However before they can get to the ring, the tag team champs attack from behind with chairs and lock Sledge into a storage container. Jack is left to go it alone and gets beat down as you’d expect. Running knee strike from Cruz gets two. Jack Hammers-up and hits a jackhammer for two. Ocean and Cruz go for a Doomsday Device, but Jack avoids it and gets a victory roll for the surprise win. Tag team turmoil matches are tough just because it’s usually short matches, but the angle and story at the end giving the Hammer Brothers the title shot was good.  **¼

Match Eight: DPW Women’s Championship – Nicole Matthews (c) vs. Amira

At Shark Ethic, Amira lasted a 10-minute time limit with Nicole Matthews to earn this title shot. Amira uses quickness to get the upper hand early. Several pinfall attempts get two and Matthews rolls to the floor. Amira drags her back in and gets a corner splash and a cannonball.

On the outside Amira maintains control with chops. Inside Matthews gets a big boot to take over. Romero Special applied with some clubbing forearms. Wasteland from the champion gets a two count. It’s worth mentioning how over Matthews is as a heel, and Amira as a babyface, which makes for a good crowd dynamic.

German suplex from Matthews, but Amira no-sells it and hits her own. Amira ducks a lariat and hits a short-arm clothesline and Northern Lights suplex for two. Snap fallaway slam by Matthews and a furious lariat gets two. Amira locks in a Boston Crab and eventually gets a spinning backfist for two. Corner cannonball and World’s Strongest Slam, but the champion rolls out under the ropes to avoid a pin. On the apron, Matthews gets a nasty looking brainbuster. Back in, Matthews goes for another but Amira reverses for her own brainbuster. To the top rope where Matthews drives Amira into the ringpost and gets an avalanche German suplex. Labell Lock is put on with Amira out cold and the champion retains. Couple of clunky spots but the story was solid and the match had good heat.  ***¼

Main Event: Prestige World Championship – Judas Icarus (c) vs. Kevin Blackwood

Kevin Blackwood requested no alcohol or meat be served at this event, which was denied sadly. Collar and elbow tie-up and some mat wrestling. Blackwood with a stiff slap to the champion and penalty kick to the back. To the top where Judas Icarus carries Blackwood off and guillotines him on the top rope. On the apron Icarus looks for an inverted suplex but Blackwood rakes the eyes and hits Firestorm knocking the champion to the floor.

Back suplex inside the ring gets a two count. Icarus eats a chop, hits his own and lands a spinning back elbow. Blackwood quickly comes back with another double footstomp to take back over. Snap suplex gets two. Judas fights back with a kneelift and some clotheslines. Enzuigiri and spinning brainbuster for two. Inverted suplex from Icarus gets another two count. The challenger fights back with some strikes and a double clothesline takes both men out. Onto the apron where Icarus gets some penalty kicks and goes for a frog splash back inside which misses.

DVD into the buckle and a brainbuster from Blackwood gets only two. Boston Crab but Icarus gets a small package for two. Another frog splash attempt connects this time for the champ for only two. Release German into the turnbuckle by Blackwood and a bicycle kick for two as Icarus bridges out. Knee to the back of the neck gets a two count for the challenger. Firestorm is avoided but the Lighthouse Lariatis countered with a lariat of Blackwood’s own. Firestorm to the back only for two but Blackwood quickly locks in the Boston Crab again only for Icarus to make the ropes.

Both guys are exhausted now as Blackwood charges with a bicycle kick in the corner and Firestorm hits again to give Blackwood the win and the title. Suitably epic as you would expect. ****¾

After the match, Matt Brannigan interrupts the new champion’s promo, setting up the next title match at ‘Big Kiss Goodnight’ on November 2nd.

Final Thoughts: This Roseland show was bookended by two great efforts featuring the members of Sinner & Saint. The title change was newsworthy and we had some good storyline development in the tag title scene.
