There is a new IWTV Independent Wrestling World Champion!

‘Fancy’ Ryan Clancy has defeated the IWTV Independent Wrestling World Champion Marcus Mathers to win the title after a near 40 minute bout between the two at tonight’s Wrestling Open Rhode Island event. Clancy put an end to Mathers’ 294 day reign as champion.

Mathers won the championship at Beyond Wrestling’s ‘Heavy Lies The Crown’ on New Year’s Eve against Krule in a Fans Bring The Weapons Match. Since then he’s defeated the likes of Bear Bronson, Donovan Dijak, Kevin Ku, Matt Cardona, Rich Swann, and others.

Following the match, the Opportunity Knocks contract holder Bear Bronson sent a warning to Ryan Clancy stating that he wants the Independent Wrestling World Championship.
