Scott’s Must-See Matches From The Weekend of 10/17-10/19

From the weekend of Friday, October 17th, through Sunday, October 19th, we saw independent wrestling shows from all different parts of the United States and Canada. There were multiple events on multiple days, across multiple different streaming avenues. From the likes of AAW, Limitless Wrestling, Freelance Wrestling, and ACTION Wrestling, here are five matches every fan of independent wrestling should go back and check out.

5. Isaiah Moore & Maggie Lee vs. Killer Goat (Myron Reed & Killer Kelly) from AAW’s “Defining Moments 2025”

On Saturday, October 18th, AAW returned to the Berwyn Eagles Club in Berwyn, IL, for it’s event, “Defining Moments 2025.” This event saw a lot of great action, including the return of Trevor Lee and the debut of The Good Brothers. However, perhaps the best match on the card saw the AAW Heritage Champion, Isaiah Moore, team up with the AAW Women’s Champion, Maggie Lee, to face off with Killer Goat’s Myron Reed & Killer Kelly. Moore and Lee looked great together as a tag team; however, they had a tall task in front of them against a “real-life duo,” Reed and Kelly. All four competitors in this match are some of the best that the Midwest has to offer. It’s very easy to see why. Kelly and Lee are two of the most talented wrestlers any women’s division can have, and their styles meshed very well. Lee is someone I’ve been very high on for a while now, and I’m happy to see all she’s accomplished in TNA so far. The sky is truly the limit for her. As for Reed and Moore, they also had styles that meshed together very well. Watching Reed in this one reminds me why he’s truly the “young GOAT” and why that nickname is not just a moniker. Lee and Kelly had a slugfest in this one, showing they can put on just as hard-hitting an affair as any of their counterparts can. This match was 100mph from the very beginning, and everyone in the ring looked great. I strongly recommend you check this one out for free on the AAW YouTube channel.

4. Lena Kross vs. Shannon LeVangie from Limitless Wrestling’s “Fresh Blood ’25”

On Friday, Limitless Wrestling debuted at Rumors in Biddeford, ME, for it’s event, “Fresh Blood ’25.” The event saw a ton of great action and big moments. One of the best matches of the night saw Lena Kross make her Limitless Wrestling debut against Shannon LeVangie. LeVangie made her return to Limitless in this one. Kross is one of the most impressive unsigned free agents around today, and she did battle with one of the best women’s wrestlers on the northeast independent scene, LeVangie. This was truly a match made in heaven, and I couldn’t have booked it better if I tried. This was a bit of a proving ground match for LeVangie. While Kross is one of the best women on the independent wrestling scene today, LeVangie is someone who’s still trying to grow and make a name for herself, coming back from an injury. LeVangie looked very, very good against Kross, and this is a statement match for her even in defeat. Go back and watch this one for free on the Limitless Wrestling YouTube channel.

3. Devon Monroe vs. Dani Luna from Freelance Wrestling’s “No Rest For The Wicked

On Friday, October 17th, Freelance Wrestling returned to Chicago, IL, for it’s event, “No Rest For The Wicked.” This whole event was absolutely fantastic. However, the biggest match on the card was also the best. The main event saw Devon Monroe put his Freelance Wrestling World Championship on the line against TNA Wrestling’s Dani Luna. It was amazing to see Luna in action at Freelance. She’s continuing to show exactly how good she is on the indies, and with more and more dates on her calendar filling up, soon everyone will know how good she truly is. Forget everything you thought you knew about Luna from TNA, as she’s out to prove that she’s so much more than a “tag team wrestler.” Spoiler alert: SHE IS! As for Monroe, he continues to amaze me when he steps in the ring. Monroe is one of the most talented wrestlers in the Midwest, and it’s easy to see why. Freelance Wrestling doesn’t just put their World Championship on anyone. Monroe has more than earned the right to call him the standard at Freelance. Watching his matches, it’s very easy to see why he’s as good as people say he is. Go back and check this one out on the Freelance Wrestling VOD channel on IWTV.

2. Tim Bosby vs. Adam Priest from ACTION Wrestling’s “All Work And No Play”

Also on Friday, October 17th, ACTION Wrestling returned to Tyrone, GA, for it’s event, “All Work And No Play.” The show saw a ton of great action, including Krule going one-on-one with Grayson Pierce, and Suge D facing off with Alex Kane. However, perhaps the best match of the show was the main event, where Tim Bosby put his ACTION Wrestling World Championship on the line against Adam Priest. Now I’ve had the pleasure of seeing Priest in action before, but this was my first time seeing Bosby compete in a match, and holy sh*t, I’m now a fan for life. Bosby is everything that makes professional wrestling great. His amateur style mixed with his ability to be a tremendous professional wrestler mesh extremely well. As for Priest, everyone knows how good he is. He’s booked all over for a reason. If you need someone to have a good match on your card, look no further than Priest. Priest excels as a heel or a babyface. Seeing these two lock up and have a match together, fans were not disappointed. This was easily my favorite match of the weekend. The story was great, and the wrestling was fantastic. Go back and check this one out on the ACTION Wrestling VOD channel on IWTV.

1. Will Kroos vs. Anthony Greene from Limitless Wrestling’s “Fresh Blood ’25”

Going back to Limitless Wrestling, the show saw a ton of great matches, including Kross vs. LeVangie as mentioned above. However, perhaps the best pure match on the card saw the PROGRESS Wrestling ATLAS Champion, Will Kroos, go face-to-face with Anthony Greene. This marked a Limitless Wrestling debut for Kroos in his current tour of the United States. I’ve been fortunate enough to follow PROGRESS Wrestling for a while now. For anyone who didn’t know beforehand, this man can go. Kroos is a stud in the ring, and that was on full display as he faced off with another one of Limitless Wrestling’s best, Greene. Kroos reminds me a lot of another young powerhouse some time ago in the UK, WALTER. For someone of his size, the guy does moves that should not be physically possible. Greene deserves his props, too; he is one of the most reliable talents in Limitless who can make anyone look amazing. That, combined with the skill of Kroos, was a recipe for success.
